Alright...so I have very mixed feelings about this place. Their food is consistently awesome. No question. But there have been times where we were told that they "just don't do takeout orders" and other times where we were made to stand waiting for 30 minutes staring at an entirely empty dining room. I guess that's a service problem? I don't know. But I've really enjoyed the food every time I was lucky enough to get them to sell some to me. My first experience here. It's a really cute hometown atmosphere. Very friendly. Definitely a place where if your looking for local hangout meeting friends or bringing the family this is the place. Children friendly menu. Reservations are a good idea. No rush atmosphere. We ordered from the breakfast and lunch menu. Fried Chicken and fries looked tasty. I'm a avocado toast fan. Excellent. Unfortunately my granddaughter ordered the Açaí bowl and that was a epic fail! She was disappointed. It was a soupy mess. She wouldn't send it back. I believe it's more of a frozen delight. Not here. I visited Uptown on Sunday for brunch with a friend. We were able to secure a reservation for outdoor seating for the same day surprisingly. Maybe it was too hot for others but it was perfect for us! All the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and came out in a timely fashion. There drink selection was good and priced similarly to other places in the area. My friends and I went to Uptown for our girls brunch last weekend. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed a pitcher of pineapple mimosas and cold brew coffee while waiting for our food, so good! I was pleased to see multiple vegan and gluten free options on the menu. We shared the Hash Flight as a starter... all three hashes were so incredible! I had the Eggs Benedict with Canadian bacon and it was absolutely delicious. My friends got the Farmers Omelet and the Western Omelet and they also loved their meals as much as I did! Our waitress Pam was super friendly and attentive. You can tell the food is scratch made and believe me, it's well worth the wait! The best way to describe Uptown is comfort food with a classy twist. We came here for a quick lunch on a busy afternoon and I was thoroughly impressed! Although we ate outside on the patio, the inside décor felt extremely charming and welcoming. With the warm feeling, you can tell this would be a nice place to hang out inside on a winter day. For the summer, though, the patio is absolutely the place to be and the plants, umbrellas, and lights add a lot of ambiance. The food was simple but so good. Our table ordered: avocado toast which featured extremely generous and filling portions; chicken and waffles which looked mouth watering; and the mozzarella caprese on sourdough with fries, which is a perfect summer lunch. Definitely will be back here again soon. The dinner menu looks really intriguing and I can't wait to try out the cocktails out on the patio one night. Aside from the food and service, the icing on the cake at Uptown is really the location. The restaurant seems perfectly situated so that it would be perfect for an after-lunch or after-dinner walk to check out the different spots and shops in downtown Warren. I've usually encountered restaurants for dinner saying they don't take reservations for the patio, it's first come first served so I definitely didn't expect to have to make a reservation for a casual breakfast on the patio!! There was an empty table for 4 but they said it was reserved so we sat inside. While we were there sitting at the window there were empty tables on the patio!! I tried a bit of my companion's blueberry muffin. It was stale and dry, with a tough texture. Not nearly as bad as the fish sandwich, but certainly not very good. It was so uncomfortable. He could've talked to her privately, spoken to her differently, and handled it more professionally. I actually asked the person I was with if we should leave. I'm glad we didn't because the servers: Pam and Alex were amazing. The food was outrageously delicious! Excellent food, service, and decor. The dining experience is fantastic, our waitress was super welcoming and friendly. The food came out on time and delicious. My only complaint for the establishment, is how the chef/manager treated the staff. While enjoying our food we overheard an outburst near the kitchen, where the chef was being very derogatory towards his own staff. I don't usually review after one visit but I am SO happy this place opened up. What you'll find here is affordable and very tasty breakfast and lunch with a lot of options. I love Rhode Island restaurants and I love farm to table fresh local food but sometimes I don't feel like spending $30 just to have fancy pancakes and coffee. This place is a happy medium of lots of options and reasonably priced which for some reason seems rare for quality places around the state. This wasn't our first visit and that's why it was so disappointing. Took over 40 minutes to get our breakfast ( for 5 people). Was Father's Day but at 10am there were empty tables across from us. Had to ask for 1 coffee refills and that took 20 minutes. The order of a $12 Belgian Waffle looked like a plain waffle you get at IHOP. Hollandaise sauce on all three orders must have been put on with 1 teaspoon. Our bill and tip was $140 but the food and experience was worth $50. Won't be bringing any out of town guests here again. There menu is extensive and serves all food choices. Paleo, gluten free, keto friendly .. etc. When asked for a recommendation. (It was a tough choice to pick just one). I was steered to the Farmers Omelet. This was served with home fries and toast. It was the lightest 3 egg omelette I have ever had. Outstanding ! I will definitely order again. On this, my third visit to this incarnation of the "Warren Family Restaurant" , " Restaurant" " Uptown Food and Spirits", I remembered to review it. "Restaurant" was my favorite Warren breakfast place because the people were so nice and they used bigger eggs than the others. Yea, I know that's an odd thing to notice. Very disappointed when they closed. The storefront was closed for a very long time. I thought they were making serious renovations but it turned out to be a spiff up. However, calling it a greasy spoon is probably inappropriate now. Oddly enough, in all that time they failed to properly repair or replace that sticky front door. Menu remains similar with any kind of breakfast foods you could think of plus some thoughtful lunch time sandwiches and other presentations. I've had the Brie and Turkey with fries, very tasty, and the Eggs Benedict, also very good. Eggs We're cooked correctly but I could have used a smidge more Hollandaise. Staff members are helpful and friendly, knowing exactly when you've thought you'd like more coffee but haven't said it yet. Credit cards accepted. Restroom is one generic with proper facilities and this door, lock has been upgraded. There is a reconfigured, spiffed up patio for outdoor dining. Parking is on street, in a small lot behind the building or the more extensive town lot behind the storefronts on the East side of Main Street. So, all in all, this will again be my go to/ walking distance place for home fries and eggs with an occasional lunch included. Walking means you can justify almost anything because walking cancels out calories. I'm glad they have reopened. read more

They obviously take great pride in the quality of the food and the menu choices are extensive. The atmosphere itself is very diner like but clean and fun. The two sisters who work there whose names are Pamela and Crystal are 2 of the best servers I have ever had. We came back three days in a row if that tells you anything, and now are here for the fourth! Don't leave without trying the cinnamon pancakes and ask for pecans in them. Today I witnessed a horrific situation. I have always loved this place and the food. First let me say the servers are wonderful. Unfortunately to day I was subjected to a very abusive boss and owner. After a scream of frustration in the back the vulgar language started and many many F bbs directed at the servers. I was never so embarrassed for employees! This lasted a good 5 minutes and we left. Not sure how much longer this continued. Obviously something happened during the morning but I do not care what it was, no one deserves to be spoken or yelled at like that. It was frightening!
