If it wasn't for the mystery sauces (see photos), I'd have no problem giving it 5 stars for timely delivery and good food. However, I did call to ask if they served different types of marinara sauces and I was told that no, it's all the same stuff. First of all, let me say that i LOVE Uptown Pizza's pizza!!! It is, by far, the best delivery pizza I've had in Minneapolis. BUT, i have big issues with their delivery. The last time i ordered, I was quoted 30-45 minutes. An hour and a half later, my pizza was still not here. We like Uptown! The taco pizza is a favorite of mine. If it's the two of us we get a Pepperoni extra cheese. Have people over on Sunday night and order the Mag pizza - one topping is on special and it can feed at least 6 people. Delivery is always fast and friendly. read more

Really good pizza but the quality can vary greatly and delivery is pretty expensive. The crust is crisp and the cheese is good quality. I live close by so it is convenient and in my opinion better than pizza luche. Main problem is the price and the quality variance. **HORRIBLE customer service. Deliveries that do not show up in the promised time of 1 hour gets you more horrible service when you call** We just ordered a pizza from them. According to the call logs on my cell phone, it showed that it was 90 minutes later and still no pizza. When we called back and asked what the status was, they said it was still in the oven. We asked if there was any discount or deal that can be made, and they denied us anything sort of compensation for attempting to bring our business to them. We canceled our pizza order and went somewhere else. For a 30 dollar pizza, I would except better service. I would suggest something better like Luce or Davanni's. read more

We just moved to uptown and ordered a pizza from here for the first time. We got the Manhattan Pizza. Pretty good, medium crust, no tomato sauce but it was still a good pie. We also got free garlic knots which were awesome! and the delivery guy let us keep the coupon for next time! I will order again but try a different specialty pie. We tried this last night for the first - and probably last - time. It wasn't terrible, but it's basically Little Caesars quality at significantly higher prices. $17 for a 14" 2-topping pizza is a bit much, if you ask me. We had a coupon for free wings, so it made the price seem slightly more manageable. However, the wings weren't any good either (rubbery & overly spicy). Nothing here was terrible, but it wasn't anything special either. I guarantee you can do better elsewhere. The place doesn't look like much but the pizza is really good! It's a NY style although the crust is a little thicker and the sauce has a lot of flavor. The garlic knots are absolutely amazing!! I get them every time I order. The buffalo wings are way too spicy for me but if you like that this is the place to try. They are also open pretty late and have pizza by the slice. This place used to be my go-to for late night pizza. Based on my last three visits I regret to have to hit just the three stars. All in all you will get your pizza fix and the sauce is still excellent. The steady decline in the crust quality is a big issue for me. I prefer more of a Brooklyn style crust- which uptown used to hit but as of late (past six months) the crust has become thick dense and undercooked for my liking. I usually get the 4-cheese in an extra large. Price is right still recommend uptown pizza for late night but it's just not what it use to be :-( read more

One of my favorite pizzas for many reasons. 1) they deliver...far, and late. 2) the cool foreign delivery guy and 3) the Manhattan. You don't know how many late nights I have ordered a MAGNUM Manhattan and smashed with some friends. I have tried all the pizzas, and by far it is my favorite. I think this is some of the best pizza in town. The Crust is yummy and the prices are more than fair. The prices aren't listed, but for just a cheese pizza, it averages around $1 an inch. It's a GREAT deal. The Staff is friendly. There isn't anywhere to sit in the parlor, which kinda sucks, but it's always super hot in there. read more

I have not tried ordering food fresh so I will only comment on what I've had which is the slices and garlic knots to go. I've tried several times and it seems to be the same slice every time. They take the pizza out of a heater and put it on a plate right out of there. The crust is consistently soggy and flavorless. It seems as if they buy a mass produced pre cooked crust. (Which is not the case, saw them rolling their own dough) The sauce is good and there is a good amount of cheese on the pizza but it really just isn't very flavorful. I will not be buying the single slices again. The garlic knots were okay but he took them out of the heater and threw in the microwave. I don't like getting microwaved food from a restaurant. It's too bad that the pizza isnt too good I had a lot of hope for it when I saw the signs for 3 dollar slices. Its hard to find a place that sells good single slices in the twin cities. I'm from new york and we have 1 dollar slice pizza joints all over the city and that slice is better than this one. Now, the staff, they are a highlight of this place. Being a downtown resident and total pizza fanatic, I often find it's difficult or impossible to get the GOOD pizza places to deliver here, and I'm sick of "corporate pizza". Even Pizza Luce has failed me in the last couple of years, and they've lost me on inconsistent taste and service. I just found out about Uptown Pizza through a downtown coupon book. Hungry, I called 'em up to try it -- I ordered my pie, a 14" sausage and pepperoni, and was even given a little discount as a first-time customer. Delivery was quoted at 45 minutes but I got it in about 35 minutes. Pizza arrived piping hot and looked tantalizing with nice spots of caramelized cheese (but wasn't over-done at all). And I actually had to wait a bit to let it cool down - burned the roof of my mouth. :) First bite and I was hooked! A good NY-style crust that isn't floppy or soggy holds up a great layer of zingy sauce (that isn't overpowering - has the perfect kick) and a mild-spice pepperoni under tasty cheese, finished with a good sausage that is neither bland nor overpowering. If they keep this up, Uptown Pizza is definitely my new pizza delivery of choice. read more

I order from here pretty frequently- it's actually my go to pizza place. The pizza is relatively cheap and big, so you get bang for your buck. I'm also a fan of cheese, and they add plenty of it! I always order delivery, and they are very quick about it. Usually estimating 45-1hr wait time, but I almost always get in around 30 minutes. Also they give out lits of coupons, so I make sure I use them :) The only problems I've had were them sloppily cutting the pizza/the pizza not being cut through all the way. This last time I think they also changed their sauce. It used to have a little kick, but now it's kinda sweet. Hope they change it back soon. This is the best pizza in the Twin Cities. These hard workers stay up until 230 to make sure your drunk ass has something in your stomach. If you are lactose intolerant then stay the hell away. These people make cheesy a compliment. This pizza is dope. And the single slices are like the size of porn stars of pizza, it doesn't get bigger. Their garlic knots are amazing, which is probably why the owner will sometimes give them out for free. Their pizzas are so-so in my opinion. The two pies I ordered from them were a Taco Pizza and a Cheesy Potato Pizza. The Taco Pizza was too spicy for me (and that's coming from someone who loves spicy food), and the only way you could cool it down was squirting sour cream packets onto it, which got to be messy. The Cheesy Potato Pizza was better, but fell short of the one from Mesa Pizza. Uptown used mashed potatoes, Mesa used sliced potatoes, which I thought had a better texture. read more

I debated a four or a five star, but just had to go with the five. I order from Uptown Pizza weekly - sometimes more often. The pizza is always delicious and the delivery people are always very pleasant. There have been a couple times where the pizza comes a little small or the sauce isn't quite as thick as I would like, but I am never disappointed and it shows that it's freshly made. Today I received a pizza at least a size smaller than I had ordered. The delivery man tried to remedy the situation, but it wasn't his issue, so I called Uptown Pizza directly - not to complain, but simply to highlight the error. They were able to quickly look the order up and send out the correct size - I'm amazed. The quality of the ingredients is superb. The meat, the cheese, the veggies - all so very flavorful! I really appreciate their ability to look up my contact information right when I call and they immediately know the address of delivery.
