I've eaten at Urban Cup a few times since they opened, and I am a pretty big fan now. Their location is super convenient, located in a shopping center with plenty of parking and lots of other food places, but Urban Cup is the only Asian Fusian place within the center. I have ordered from postmates where they offer free delivery for plus members, and I've also eaten there a few times at this point too. It's always nice that you have the convenience of ordering food for delivery, but I did feel like the portion sizes were smaller with the delivery items. Here are some of my favorite items that I have tried so far: -the VEGAN FRIED RICE - ahh, it's so amazing! So flavorful with peas and carrots. I always like to add a fried egg to the dish which totally makes it not vegan, but this is made even better by some sriracha and a drippy egg all over it. I can also make two meals out of this if I'm not starving, so that's also a big plus. -cajun garlic fries - you can get these with or without filet mignon. I like them without. As a fan of garlic fries, these don't disappoint, and they have more of a kick than the typical garlic fry. Some other items that were ordered from postmates included the bao and the gyoza. The bao were super tiny and not worth the price. The gyoza also semed a bit on the expensive side for the portion that you receive. My fiance and I agreed we probably wouldn't order those again, but would be willing to try them at the restaurant. They also have a huge selection of fancy coffee and tea drinks. They have this crazy vietnamese iced coffee and it has hazlenut flavoring in it. I really liked it because it wasn't overly sweet, and I could really appreciate the complexity in the flavors. Overall, I am a fan of Urban Cup. Their flavors are on point, and while I wish the portion sizes could be bigger at times, I do really enjoy the food and the drinks that I've tried so far. The tamarind wings are so unique. When you bite into the wings it's super crispy and you get so much flavor in your mouth it's like a party in there. The best part is the wings are all in flats. I absolutely loved this place, the menu isn't as expansive as a lot of other similar restaurants but they more than make up for it wirh quality. We got the garlic noodles with fillet mignon and the filet mignon fries, and both were exquisite. They have the perfect balance of Asian flavors, garlic, and spice, and the meat was cooked to perfection. Lee and went for some desserts and food to this place during Covid 08-2020, at first based on the reviews we thought was going to be a place crowded with people and nice environment, unfortunately that wasn't our experience this time upon arrival we noticed that many of the items showed on the menu section were not available, aside from that the lady attending the cashier was not friendly or had any customer service experience as she was rude and as we were told items were not available anymore she did not offered any other items available that were similar, their menu at the time of our visit was limited and person attending was rude and not courteous, chicken popcorn was good dipping sauce was limited to only one which was the chili sweet and sour, they had couple of tents with 4 tables due to Covid social distance. Overall this place looked almost dead, there may be people ordering takeout or delivery but as to on site experience maybe because of Covid things have change for worse than better, but on this visit was not pleasant for us, before I forget their street corn was really good, a little over priced but was good my friend liked it. read more

First time I tried them. I ordered over the phone for takeout. I got the popcorn chicken and cajun garlic fries. I asked for salt, fork and napkins which I was told they didn't have. As for the popcorn chicken it was pretty bland missing spices and the portion was pretty small. The cajun garlic fries were bland also missing seasoning. I was shocked to see their reviews being so highly rated which made me think that I got a disgusting batch of food. I ordered delivery from this restaurant today and I was excited to try it because their menu look appetizing and they were so bold in backing their food. Well I order the rib eye pho to start. First of all when you order pho take out I was ALWAYS receive my food with the veggies separate from the Togo bowl of noodle. They crammed everything into the bowl which bothered me because I don't like bean sprouts in my pho. Secondly the noodles were over cooked and the broth was bland and when I say bland I mean that the bean sprout flavor over powered the flavor of the beef broth. My wife and I did t even touch the rest of it because it was so disgusting. Which brings me to my next order. The Cajun Garlic Fries...I was extremely excited for this dish because I love any creative concoction that includes French fries. When I looked at the picture on the website it had steak on it so I ordered this dish over the bulgogi fries. When I received my order I opened it up and saw nothing but French fries with chunks of garlic on it. I was so utterly disappointed that after one taste I decided not to eat it. Too much garlic to the point that it overpowered anything else. The final item we ordered was the popcorn chicken which was actually pretty good (but then again it's pretty hard to mess up popcorn chicken). My biggest complaint about this order was that I only received about 9 pieces of chicken. Like I mean I paid $6 for an order of popcorn chicken I got a few nuggets out of it. I will most definitely never eat her again unless someone convinced me that their experience was the total opposite. I just can't justify any restaurant butchering any meal like that. I could probably make better pho with ramen noodles and beef broth from the market. Please tell me how this place is a 4 star? Was I just given a piss poor order where the employees were trying to get home and half assed my order? Anyways enough about my rant. My pho had so much meat it was crazy. I loved the fillet mignon and brisket. I ended up only able to eat half of it and took the meat and left over soup home to cook later with some noodles I had left. The pho was really good! I like the vegan options. I am not vegan but I previously lived in Long beach where there's lots of vegan options so It's good that there's some options in Cypress too. They have good cruciferous vegetables for when I'm doing alternate day fasting. There are lots of carbs but the cruciferous vegetables and the build-a-plate which has Salmon as a protein option should be good for those watching their carbs. We ordered the shrimp pho, the paid Thai with chicken, egg rolls and Thai iced teas. We wanted to try a new spot since we have been supporting the local restaurants. This was our first time and likely our last. The pad Thai seemed more like a spaghetti and was a little mushy. Also A little too much chicken for my taste. I thought I'd give Urban Cup a try, and I'm so glad that I did! The worker at the register was very welcoming, knowledgeable, and gave great accommodating recommendations. I had the bbq char siu bao and the chicken wings as my appetizer, and I had the filet mignon as my main course. The bbq char siu bao were the perfect size! They weren't too big or too small; they had the perfect amount of breading and the meat was so flavorful!! The filet mignon was so juicy and tender and the dish paired well with the garlic rice. I also tried the lychee spritz and I loved it! It had the perfect amount of carbonation and it was definitely thirst quenching. Also, I loved the environment and the ambience of the restaurant. Stopped by on a Saturday evening and the place was filled up about halfway. Came with my wife and son, ask for a high chair but unfortunately they didn't have any yet. Upon entering the joint you notice how clean and hip this place looks with an open kitchen concept. It's a order your food at the counter first, get a # and seat yourself restaurant. We ordered: Roasted brussel sprouts, Char Siu Bai, baby back udon soup, build a plate with garlic noodles, gochujang baby back ribs and sunny side up egg. The presentation of the food was beautiful, flavors were umami and creative. Except for the baby back undo soup, it was just okay, I would suggest a different vegetable rather than placing broccoli in soup. Now to why I gave this place only a 3 star. When we walked in and proceed in getting our order there was no greeting from the cashier/waiter. No smile, like he didn't want to be there. This guy was suppose to be the manager (printed on our receipt). My wife forgot to order the brussel sprout so she went to order. Same reaction but from another cashier/waiter, no Hi or a smile, but this guy is suppose to be the owner (printed on the receipt). We also watched their interactions with other customers and pickup delivery people and they were pretty much unfriendly with them as well. Wow the best Jasmine Tea ever without the sea salt cream. Better that what they serve at those authentic Chinese restaurants. The first sip was extraordinarily refreshing. I finally tried this place after watching them build this restaurant on my drive everyday up and down Valley View. I ordered takeout thru Yelp; salmon with jasmine rice and a side salad. It was really tasty and cooked to perfection. I really loved that mushroom gravy over the salmon and that they leave the skin on! I want to try the ribs next... I would have also tried the roasted cauliflower, but I thought that dish seemed too expensive for what it is (no protein). I get that cauliflower is on trend right now, but really, it's still a cheap vegetable. Maybe next time if I'm feeling vegetarian. I think you could also sub the cauliflower for rice as an option for those trying to reduce carbs. I also want to applaud them for their recyclable and sustainable take out containers and bag. This is a generous 4 star review, I am leaning more towards 3.5. The negative: Seating is awkward. The tables and chairs are pretty close together. I can't imagine being here when it is packed. Pricing. It's a little on the higher side. Garlic noodles and ribs were $13 which isn't bad, its not great either. I'm counting it as a negative because I didn't feel like I got a lot of bang for my buck. The positive: Cool hipster vibe. Food was good...my garlic noodles were ok, lots of garlic but overall it was a little underwhelming. Wish the noodles had a little more pizzazz. I enjoyed the ribs, lots of flavor and not covered in fat...it had just the right amount of fat! Friendly helpful service. Easy to find parking during the day however it may be tough at peak hours. In general, it was a nice find. I'd recommend this place for those wanting to try something new. Is it something I'd crave all the time? Not really. Stopped by for a drink and ordered the Sea Salt Coffee since that is one of favorite drinks. 95% percent of the time when I order this item at a new restaurant, I'm dissapointed but this one was on point. Restaurant itself has a very modern and clean decor. Staff was also very friendly and professional. Overall a very cool place to grab a quick bite, but I also noticed they have power plugs at every table/bar chair so this will be good place to hang and bring a notebook/tablet.
