Delicious food. We started with the cauliflower, bao, gyoza. All excellent, though the cauliflower really stood out for me. Then came the main course with garlic noodles and shrimp, short ribs, and chicken. The noodles were amazing. I'd recommend pairing them with the chicken since the sauce was interesting and yummy, and the chicken was perfect. It's a casual venue with nice tables. This place is awesome. Just ordered the Atlantic salmon and filet mignon (with garlic noodles and garlic rice) for pickup today. Food was ready on time. Everything was organized and wrapped individually in aluminum foil and placed into a box (even the rice and noodles). The whole vibe there was really nice too, would probably consider dining in next time. At first, the food seemed bland and kind of basic from pictures. However, the moment we took our first bites, we changed our minds. Both dishes had a deep and savory taste, especially the filet mignon. The salmon was very fresh and nicely glazed as well. From the pictures, the portion also looked pretty small. But, each entree actually made a good meal for one person. Some info: every entrée comes with a carb choice: garlic rice, garlic pasta, tomato rice, and plain rice. They all come with a small side of salad as well (could be bigger portion). The Salad sauce was good (dont know what it was but it was definitely more asian style vs the typical thousand island/ranch). Checked in on yelp for a free soda too. I have been off yelp for a while but trusted the four star ranking for this place and was very disappointed. Let's start with the details, if your store front is all windows you really need to invest in a window cleaning service. Dirty windows on a clear day make the whole restaurant look dirty. Speaking of dirty we had to wait a bit to have a table wiped down for us and it was left wet with food scraps still on the table and seats. We had to ask for napkins to finish cleaning the table. We asked for water and I am not exaggerating we got the smallest water cups I have ever seen. It all just screamed cheap. Now on to the food. If you don't like HEAVY garlic, stay away from this place. Everything taste like sweet garlic. I got the Build a Plate with Filet Mignon and Garlic noodles. The noodles were very oily and way too much garlic and the Filet was very low quality meat that varied from grisly chunks to dry over cooked scraps of steak. I could not recommend this place. We saw the place and desided to give it a try sence it was new on the area.. we walk in to a clean and welcoming enviroment, the menu was easy to follow and with plenty of options to choose from. Tried this place for the first time so we ordered a variety. The Ribeye Pho rare was very good. The Pad Thai was too salty, not authentic. The yellow curry was very good and the egg rolls too. The char siu bao was ok, gyoza was ok, everything is kind of pricey. If we go back it would be for the pho and curry. read more

We anticipated the opening of Urban Cup's Cypress location after regular visits to Urban Cup's Newport location. We stopped in for a late Saturday dinner and were impressed by the upscale atmosphere and great food at a very reasonable cost. I had the filet mingon and garlic noodle combo with a strong lychee Jasmine tea. We were especially grateful for the excellent customer service and will be recommending to friends and family. This is for customer service only. I've dined her many a times and absolutely love the food. I've picked up to go orders, eaten in, and had it delivered. Truly delicious. Sadly the customer service I received this weekend when I took my family was deplorable and I'll be thinking twice before going back. My sister ordered her food first. It came out pretty quick. She patiently waited for our food to come out so she could eat. 10 minutes after she received her food, still nothing. No word from the kitchen, no check in from the cashier. Nothing. So we told her to eat. 15 minutes later we finally got our popcorn chicken which the kids were going to eat with their fried rice. So we waited... and waited... and waited... Still no fried rice. So they ate their chicken and I asked the cashier, Esther, what was going on. she said the food would be out soon. Ok. Fine. it wasn't rush hour. There was only one table there before us who had already received their food. 20 minutes later now there was a line of people. We watched 4-6 to go orders be prepared and shipped off. Finally Esther came over and said there was only one cook and another was on the way. THEN the 3 tables that came after us all had their food served to them and we're sitting here 30 minutes later still waiting for our fried rice and pho. I asked the food runner and she went and go Esther. Who proceeded to give me attitude and some excuse about how the cooks fill different orders. Ok. But how come the table that sat after us literally just got the meals we had ordered? Seems like we were here first we should have gotten our food. With the snottiest attitude ever she says, what do you want me to do about it??? EXCUSE ME!?!!? How about I'm sorry let me make this right. We got our food 5 minutes later and it was delicious but our mood had been soured by the whole event and my sister had finished her food and just been waiting for us. Before we left I asked for a copy of my receipt and the managers contact information. She printed me the wrong receipt and told me she couldn't give me the managers contact info. The food is aight. It takes an excellent customer service to pull off a good star review. Oh man. First time here and first impression is that you already do not have good customer service. You walk in and no one greets you. Too bad though coz the place has potential. The staff, probably trying their best, is running around like headless chickens, no sense of direction. The server seems super confused and at one point we were waiting on our food for a llooooonnnng time and come to find out the table next to us got the order. The last thing I have to rant about is we made a mistake of ordering food to go. Boy that was a huge mistake. We sat there waiting for the food and no one said it was ready. The food sat on the counter for a while. The guy who took our order went to break and whoever covered him wasn't paying attention coz he was busy checking out some girl in short shorts. Wow talk about customer service and professionalism right? I think it is safe to say this place is run poorly. I don't think I will rave about this to my friends. I ordered the yellow curry with chicken, and it was painfully obvious that it was pre-cooked chicken breast that was put in the soup, very dry and unflavored. They also put big pieces of raw onion in the soup. Like crunchy raw. Again, it's apparent that the soup was ready made and the chicken and onion are added afterwards. The soup itself was also too sweet for my taste. To be fair, some may prefer this style of soup flavor. But I dare to say that the chicken and the onion was beyond unacceptable. I can honestly say that it was the worst yellow curry that I've ever had. My wife ordered the popcorn chicken which was okay and the gochujang ribs which were also meh, but passable. So, I really wanted to like this place, from reading the numerous amounts of high ratings they got but they it wasn't so great for me. I called in my order to pick up. I ordered 2 build your plate which costs $11.95, one that came with jasmine rice and salmon, the other with garlic noodles and spare ribs with a fried egg. I didn't like that they wrapped each item in the plate in foil. The egg which was an extra $1.45 was in its own foil and when I opened the foil, the yolk was all over the foil so pretty much what was left of the egg was the egg whites. That's disappointing for spending extra and not getting what you paid for. The noddles were ok and the spare ribs tasted like they just drenched it in some sauce same as the salmon. We also ordered the chili lime cauliflower which was mentioned many times about how great it wAs. Yeah, I think otherwise. The cauliflower tasted like it's been steamed and the sauce tasted like fish sauce, there's wasn't anything special about it. To top it off, it was about $9. Not worth the price. The portions are small and quality wasn't anything special. I spent about $36 and that was a waste of money. The people that rang us up were nice though that's why I gave the 2 stars. read more
