This place brings me so much joy. The nostalgia, the food, the people--it's all magic. My husband and I stopped in on a whim for a date night and completely fell in love with the patty melt, garlic fries, and all of their incredible sauces (the ranch and chipotle sauce are amazing!). It was a busy night, but we still had the chance to chat with the owner and her husband. They are genuinely wonderful people who clearly love what they do. You can feel the heart they've poured into this place. I always say the beauty is in the details, and this place is full of thoughtful details. It has become our happy place. When my son broke his arm, this is where we came for fries and ice cream. When we've had a rough day, we come for patty melts and milkshakes. There is something special about good old-fashioned comfort food--it really does feed the soul. I honestly can't say enough good things about this place. Every visit reminds me why we keep coming back. I haven't had a single thing here that didn't leave me wanting more. My son was not a fan of the mint shake and said he wish he had the cookies and cream instead. Okay, so I know it hasn't been that long since I wrote my last review of this place, but I just had to update again because they've made some changes to their space and menu and I recently had the opportunity to put in a catering order here for my son's birthday. If you read my last review, this is my son's absolute FAVORITE burger place in the area. He is now 3 and he gobbles up an entire kids cheeseburger whenever we come here (which is basically every 2-3 weeks..). For his 3rd birthday, I catered from Patty's Diner for his school and working with Berry was wonderful. She was great at helping me figure out the order sizes for 43 kids, keeping me posted on the order status, and they even accommodated 12 a la carte orders for the teachers. The kids were so excited for the lunch and the teachers all loved their burgers. During the delivery, I even had one kid lean in super close as we were walking in and he took a HUGE inhale and pretended to faint because the food was so yummy smelling.. lol. Catering prices were super reasonable, delivery was smooth, and the kids were able to actually eat the burgers, fries, and tenders while they were still warm! I also wanted to stop back in and say that they've added in more seating / more booths to the restaurant. It isn't a huge space, but I'm very thankful for the extra seating they've managed to put in because they are definitely getting more and more popular! read more

A few notes from our visit here: - came on a Saturday with a somewhat large party - 8 people. They were able to accommodate us because we called ahead and made a reservation. It doesn't look like there is much seating. There is some bar seating and a couple booths. They put two tables together in order to seat us. - when we ordered, they said it would take about 15 minutes. It was more like 45 minutes to get our food. They brought out our milkshakes very quickly so we had dessert before dinner. - since it's a smash burger, if you only get one patty, you're mostly eating all bread. I enjoyed the chili cheese fries. - the decorations were cool. Very spot on with the theme. I'm open to trying this place again for a better experience. read more

It's cutest burger spot. The diner is cute, decorated with a lot of posters, lights. The place is not very big has in door and out door tables. We walked by one time so we decided to come try it out. I was there before everyone else. The cashier told me "You order then find your table. ". Friday night dinner rush time and they are nice enough to let me sit at a table first to wait for my family. We all got different burgers and sides to try only thing is they are at a higher prices and still charge for sauce. Milkshake is good thick and you can tell they use good milk but just one cup, no extra. Float they use good soda but ice cream a bit sweet so it makes the float more sweet Fries and tots are just regular not very crispy . I guess I'm missing the sauce but I'm not sure $2 sauce is worth it. Onions rings are very crispy and favorful. The smash burgers are very good the meat is small if you don't get double. Looking for a quick bite while in the area, I found this little gem in Yelp. The space is nicely decorated in 50's era pop culture. The booths and seating areas are very clean and updated. I tried the signature mash burger and loaded garlic fries. The burger patties were delicious and the fries were crispy and well seasoned. Very cute diner! Was walking past and decided to stop in to check out the menu and ended up walking out with a Pattys Burger Salad bowl. And it was delicious. Healthy but tasted amazing! New addition to downtown Burlingame, Patty's looks welcoming with open space and nostalgic decor. There are 5-6 tables and bar seating. Not a ton of seating so keep that in mind! You order up at the cashier before you sit, so depending on how packed it is you may want to take it to go. All tables were full when we got there but thankfully we got one before our food came out. We had: Double Oklahoma smash burgers: 10/10 they were so good. The caramelized onions embedded into the patties was a nice touch. Super soft bun, melty cheese; and an outside crispyness to the patties. Perfection! Added house made smash sauce: great sauce, paired well with burger Peanut butter cup milkshake: 8/10. This milkshake tasted great it was just a little difficult to drink. Theres a lot of grit in the milkshake from peanuts or chopped up peanut butter cups. Often got stuck in the straw. Patty's Diner is a refreshing yet nostalgic dining experience that I had the pleasure of visiting. I went there within the first few months of it opening and there's honestly not many restaurants nowadays that compare. They operate as a 50's-60's style diner with tons of cool relics of back in the day such as music albums, movie posters, and props. They have classic music playing and old movies playing all the time which really add to the atmosphere. I really appreciate a themed restaurant that put much effort to highlight their gimmick. They compliment their theme well with great customer service, they greet and cater to you right when you enter the door and they seem genuinely nice, nothing forced or fake in the slightest. Even at your table to check in frequently to ask how the food is or if you need anything. And in their downtime you see them constantly cleaning and making sure they present their place well. You can tell they put pride in their work. They were so nice it lowkey pushed me to compliment them before we left on their food and service, which I would never really do naturally, they honestly just deserved a vocal thanks. I left with a smile and this place is now one of my favorite trendy but classic places to eat! I have mixed feelings about this place. The old school diner interior is pretty cool and they have a few small tables out front, dog friendly. The menu is pretty big and they have a rotation of specialty smash burgers and shakes. We ordered a double mushroom smash burger, a single patty melt, smash loaded fries, and a cookies and cream shake, including tax and tip was over $70. Everything is ordered à la carte so it really adds up fast. Would be nice if they had combos or if their burgers came with fries. Despite the price, the mushroom burger itself was pretty oily, but really good. The patty melt was mid, it usually only comes with cheese but the cashier said she can smash some grilled onions into the patty. The sourdough bread on that was way to large for the tiny patty so the ratio was off. Surprisingly the loaded fries were pretty good, it was a big ol bowl of fries topped with cheese, tomatoes, pickles, onions, a smash patty, and their smash sauce which kind just tastes like thousand island. The almost $12 milkshake was a scam... it was so tiny. We are better off going to in n out. The food also took a really long time to come out. My husband and I were just walking around downtown and we took one look inside and it made us go in. It has that retro diner vibe with classic old Hollywood movie posters all around the walls. Everything was also very clean and surprisingly spacious, which made it comfortable to sit and enjoy the meal. Service was excellent from start to finish. Nothing but good things to say about this new diner in Burlingame. I recently went on a burger tour around the Bay Area and one of my stops was to Patty's Diner. They specialize in locally sourced beef smash burgers. The restaurant is new, with the 50's themed diner style like Back to the Future. Loved the vibe and on a sunny day in Burlingame, there is nothing like it. But most importantly, how was the food?! Smash Burgers: I was able to try the mushroom smash burger that was full of mushrooms. The flavor and quality of beef, bun, and ingredients were incredible. I also tried the BBQ smash which was visually, the best looking smash burger I've eaten. It had a giant onion ring with red onions and bbq sauce on top of the patty. Both were 8.7 The milkshake and fried complimented the meal. The staff and owners are salt of the earth. Great little diner worth visiting again and again. read more

Came here Saturday evening for dinner. My partner and I ordered to go. Restaurant was pretty busy and the line was long. We were quoted 40 mins for our food to be ready (took about 50+ mins). A little pricey for what you get, 2 burgers, onion rings and chili cheese fries came out to $58. Food is just okay. Chili could be a little thicker and maybe a little more cheese on there. Burgers were a bit salty but condiments on there slightly balanced them out. Love that there's different options on Broadway however, I don't think it's worth the price point. read more

Luckily, Patty's Diner definitely delivered. After seeing the nice pictures of the place in yelp that caught my attention, it was nice to see that it lives up in person as the space is bright and welcoming with a cool, modern diner aesthetic. The menu is simple but still offers plenty of options for different tastes: burgers, sandwiches, salads, shakes, fries, chili, hot dogs, and more. My boyfriend got the Patty's Smash (double) and I ordered the Oklahoma Smash. We also shared a vanilla milkshake and onion rings with garlic aioli. Everything was great. Even though burgers aren't usually my go-to, I would absolutely come back. The flavors were spot on and the burger held together well the whole time; nothing messy or falling apart, and honestly nothing I would change. The only small thing I might suggest is serving the milkshake in a traditional diner-style glass when dining in, just for the experience. That said, having it in a to-go cup is actually really convenient if you can't finish and want to bring the rest with you. Service was quick, food arrive fast. We have walked by this place so many times with friends and it became an opportune time to try it out. We came on a bustling Friday night where every seat was taken and there was a long queue. We ordered a burger along with some chicken tater tots and were informed it would take half an hour. We walked around the neighborhood and sat down at the counter. I love the color scheme with the team and pink with old school posters, miniature cars and old school board games. There is not enough seating so you may end up ordering and having to wait for a table to open up. My husband and I loved their smash burgers. Our kids prefer in n out patties. Nice addition to Broadway Avenue and the place is cute, clean and kitschy as can be. Appealing to the eye and smells coming out of the kitchen are delicious and not cloying, sticky and greasy laden,the way diners can be. I may have ordered the wrong. They seem to specialize in smash burgers and milkshakes and other reviews highlight these. I approached the counter and saw chili cheese fries on the loaded fries menu. These were a " healthier version" and blander than I am used to. Chili was obviously homemade and bean forward, with bell peppers and kidney and pinto beans. No kick of spiciness and the drizzle of sour cream was a nice touch. My order had about 7 cheese shreds on top, so that the dish was more clumpy than gooey in texture- also the faintest sprinkle of large diced white onion. The strangest addition to the toppings were a large smattering of Fritos Corn Chips. Fries or chips with my chili, not both please. They added crunch and a chemical taste that is distinctive of a bagged Frito. Fries were standard issue, but warm and held up to the chunky chili. I will definitely try again and order a smash burgers or a milkshake, since they use Strauss dairy. Our group thoroughly enjoyed the different burgers we ordered from the menu. From what I could tell the ingredients used for the burgers are quality. The buns were soft and pillowy, and the beef is juicy wihtout being too fatty. The milkshakes we shared were rich and creamy, with pronounced chocolate and vanilla flavors. Checked out Patty's for the first time after noticing it a week prior. They're brand new to Broadway but they're about to make waves. I went with the Oklahoma Smash (Double) and it did not disappoint. Grilling onions into the patties is sensational, and I added their homemade smash sauce which took it over the top. When we first arrived, we were a little confused about the ordering process because it wasn't clear whether you should seat yourself first or order before sitting. Tried out this new restaurant for the first time! The atmosphere was very nice, truly feels like it stepped right out of the 50's/60's! The SF Dog had more Jalapeños than I was expecting, to be honest. Made it so spicy that I could barely taste anything BUT the jalapeño, let alone the dog itself. The Burgers and ESPECIALLY the fries were very good tho! Nothing I'd go out of my way to get again, but I'd happily order them if I found myself in the restaurant again in the future. My order also took a bit longer than I expected, especially given that there was hardly any other costumers when I went. They may have been cooking pick-up/delivery orders tho.
