I like Urban Plates and decided to order a chicken plate with steamed broccoli and mac & cheese. The person who I picked up my order from was very nice and the pick up process was easy. That said, the chicken and mac and cheese were good, but the broccoli pieces had pretty visible black spots on the stem where they had been cut. While this is likely not a food safety issue, it's still kind of unappetizing and I ended up throwing the broccoli away to be safe since I'm pregnant. A little disappointed based on the great reviews we read. We were looking for a healthier option while in town so decided to give it a try. The good: great selection, decent service, clean restaurant. We ordered the grilled chicken and Tofu plates. The chicken was on par with decent Chinese take out chicken. The Brussels sprouts and asparagus were definitely not grilled, overcooked, oily, and slimy. The tofu was edible. Roasted potatoes were really good as was the bread. Hopefully we just came on a bad day. Might try it one more time, but it would have to be significantly better to make it a regular stop. read more

It's a nice low calorie meal after the gym and doesn't feel too heavy. Service was quick and getting our food was maybe 10 minutes. They offer a 20% discount for each purchase if you download their app and register for the $4.99 monthly fee. I wish they had a location in south OC because I would visit frequently. The dining area has comfortable booths with cushioned benches and tables and chairs throughout. The decor is pretty nice too. I ordered the sea bass with brussel sprouts and asparagus. I ordered the Seared Ahi Tuna Salad which tasted okay in the moment (dressing was a little too salty and fish was yummy), but 5 hours later I got food poisoning for the first time. Wow, i have contemplated visiting this place for awhile and I am really glad I finally tried it out. The whole experience includes you ordering, finding a table, and enjoying the food. The cashier who rang up our order was great. She was fast and very friendly. She even gave us recommendations since it was our first time. The restaurant is pretty big and has lots of places to sit. It is also very clean. They definitely keep up with the cleanliness which is a plus with all the COVID-19 spikes. I struggled with ordering since I wanted everything but I ended up ordering the Grilled Grass Fed Steak Plate and my bf ordered the Braised Beef & Mushrooms bowl. Both tasted amazing. I was a little scared that the chimichurri was going to be spicy but it wasn't. It gave the steak a really great taste. The steak was also cooked perfectly, too. I couldn't taste the bowl my bf got since I am allergic to mushrooms but he said it was amazing. For my sides, I got the rice pilaf and mashed potatoes. Again, both tasted fresh and delicious. I was so excited to finally try this place, and what a disappointment! While the chicken fried burger was fine, the fries that came with it, was half cold, half burning hot. They seemed to have mixed an old batch with a new one. The mixed chicken with rice pilaf I ordered, what was that? Literally 4 small pieces of chicken. I wish I had taken a pic. The pilaf rice looked it was out for hours. Crusty and cold. And the side hummus? That was NOT hummus. Idk what it was, but it was not hummus.
