They are open for dine in and have a lot of both indoor and outdoor dining! We ordered, seated ourselves and got the food within five minutes. It was super fast and the food was amazing! We got one chimmichuri steak plate with carrots and brussel sprouts. The steak was perfectly cooked and the chimichurri sauce complemented it perfectly. The other was a plate with three sides. The sauce that came with the corn was amazing!! I even dipped the brussel sprouts in the extra sauce. The mac and cheese was perfect as well. I come here regularly since I have the Plate Pass. I come about every other day lol. It's a nice location and can get busy during prime times but it doesn't get overcrowded. So you can always find seating. Brandon and Margaux have been very nice to me. They have good customer service and I look forward to seeing them when I order from the app. Urban Plates is great for my keto diet. Love this place, if you want 'OK' priced home cook style meals, Urban Plates is tough to beat. Yesterday I had the Chimichurri Grass Fed Steak Plate. Which was remarkable! The only part I wasn't that thrilled about yesterday was my Brussel sprouts, which are roasted in turkey bacon weren't as crunchy as they normally are. Had this been my first and only meal here, I would give this place 4 starts for this whoops. However this was delivered via Door Dash (try this service out) and the lid was closed for too long. Just like the French fries, they get a little soft when getting delivery. So technically more of a delivery oversight. Back on the meat though, that sauce if you have not tried it, is GOLD! I like this place a lot. Their steak and mashed potato potatoes are very filling and I would definitely recommend getting the chimichurri on top. You don't really have to worry about that service too much because they don't wait on your table. I was aiming to get a healthy lunch and dinner and this place came up. Ordered the following: 1. Chimichurri steak with the mac & cheese and broccolini. The steak is advertised as medium/medium rare on their website but was given to me as well done. Mac & cheese is standard, on the bland side. Broccolini had more flavor than the mac & cheese but was soggy and greasy. 2. Braised Beef & Mushrooms with mashed potatoes. This one is promising but be aware that they only give you 2 small pieces of beef. 3. 3 UP Plate (your choice of 3 sides), I picked the following: Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Turkey Bacon, Roasted Carrot & Beets, Green Beans and Red Chili Mushrooms. They shoved my rustic bread along with the green beans, so I only had a few sprigs of green beans since the free bread took up all of the room in that section of the container. Came to pick up my order, the instructions were to call in and they bring it out to curbside. No one picked up the phone so I went in. No greeters, but I saw my name on a paper bag and left with it. I'm surprised I haven't reviewed this place yet, but it has been a long time coming. When I tried this place out, it had just newly opened and I visited on a whim. Unfortunately, my food selections did not sit so well with me and I experienced food poisoning. It was bad, but I didn't completely blacklist them. Fast forward a few years later, it has become one of my favorites to return to. I think the plate that brought me back was their chimichurri steak plates with your choice of two sides. I really enjoy their roasted veggies, mashed potatoes and mac n cheese. However, I'm a new fan to their salads! I really enjoy the tofu as a choice of protein. It's served cold, but the seasoning on them is ginger garlic and it's absolutely wonderful. You pretty much don't need dressing, so I always ask for dressing on the side. There's so much flavor to them. And recently, I tried their poke bowls. I chose tofu as the protein, but you get an option for salmon or albacore tuna. The tofu bowl had rice as the base and then topped with red peppers, grilled zucchini, pickled vegetables, scallions, avocado and poke sauce. I felt the pickled veggies were too strong and made everything sour. If they dialed back on that, it would have been perfect. Overall, most of the choices I've tried have been positive. There's so much variety so it's easy to change things up. And I find it awesome that they have online order available for pickup, which makes it a breeze to get the monthly fix of UP. read more

Decided to try this place after being in my bookmarks for a long time. The restaurant is very well structured. It's cafeteria style. Once you go in, there are two lines; one for salads and one for the rest of the menu (entrees, sides, sandwiches, soups, etc). We saw a few people in the salad line and the salads are made in front of you, with fresh ingredients. We ordered the sea bass which came with two sides. I chose the roasted cauliflower and Brussels sprouts. Everything was delicious. My husband ordered the osso bucco with mashed potatoes. The lamb was tender and the mashed potatoes were silky smooth. Can't wait for the next time I go to Irvine. I will definetely be eating at Urban Plates. read more

We got to Urban Plates at around 5:45, and headed to the outdoor area, which easily accommodated all of us, since there were only a couple of groups there. Food ordered: Grilled Grass Fed Steak Plate - 5/5: The steak was medium rare and beautiful. It was easy to chew and flavor was fresh and not too salty. For my 2 sides, I got the roasted potatoes and the broccolini. I prefer my broccolini softer, but I know people who like this crisp and crunchy texture of vegetables. My barramundi was barely even warm; same with my broccoli and mashed potatoes. Why didn't I send it back, you might ask?
