The plate menu has a variety of proteins and a chose of sides. I ordered barramundi seabass with a side of Quinoa and beet salad. The dish came with a toasty slice of bread. My partner ordered the cheese burger with a side salad and fries. We drank Coffee and ice tea and enjoyed a free refill. Service was quick on a Saturday mid-afternoon. There were available tables to sit indoors with A/C cooling or outdoor sidewalk side tables for a pleasant warm weather day. This place is such a bang for buck . The quality of the food for price is really great . The service also is always top notch. Abe who has helped my family before is always nice, warm and welcoming . Today my sister's plate was late compared to the other orders but after bringing it up to Abe the order came right out. The inside is always nice and clean. The decor gives the place a nice earthy feel with the plants . Today my family ordered the ahi tuna, arugula salad, salmon and I got a burger . All of the meals were very good and the portion size is just right. Not too much and not too late. Great food and great service is always a nice combo . read more

Good variety of menu selections- organic, fresh, sustainable, grass fed... all the healthy selections people look for. Order at counter- food brought to table. Indoor and outdoor seating; paid metered street parking or a paid lot around the corner- they do validate but not sure for how long etc- we lucked out and found street parking after 6pm and it was free at that time. I had surf and turf with a side of hummus with pita chips and a Cesar salad. My hubby had the bass- he didn't care for his meal thought fish was dry and vegetables overcooked- my meal was fine nothing to brag about- I'd return with a friend since hubby said he wouldn't go again. There was a lot of red pepper and it was a bit overwhelming so I wished there wasn't so much. Really enjoyed the pesto since it it wasn't too salty and was the cherry on top to the sandwich! It consisted of chicken, krispies, mustard pickle slaw, tomatoes, onions, and herb aioli. The bread was very fresh and soft. The Pomegranate Mint Lemonade ($5.10) was sooo sweet. It was refreshing but the mint was a little too overpowering. Definitely recommend adding ice and/or water otherwise it's way too sweet! Overall, the sandwich and salads were a bit pricey but definitely one of the better spots for sandwiches and salads in terms of quality and quantity!

There is a parking lot at the corner of Meridian / Ave 51 around the corner, but we've never had any luck getting a spot in there so just expect to have to find street parking.

Hubby said the Classic Aussie was good but was expensive for the size of the sandwich (small burger size). Hubby got the Long Black coffee which was good, but sadly my iced matcha latte was lacking in the matcha flavor. It was very pale in color and tasted mostly of milk. Service was quick and friendly. I will come back for the meats and try the other flavors of the meat pies next time.

The food was substandard. In So Cal, we have tons of choices for this sort of food and desserts. We made the trip to Pasadena because of our experience with Nana's in Hawaii. After the ordering process, the 4 desserts we ordered took a very long time to prepare. Our situation was not unique. Many people before and after us had long faces and watched as others finally got their food. We had two lattes, a matcha soft serve and a parfait. All but soft serve were overflowing and dripping out of their cups/glasses as soon as we touched them. Despite the lattes chocolate syrups, milk and whipped cream - they somehow managed to be watery and lack taste. As for the hojicha parfait, the design of the glass was not user friendly. They are tall and narrow. Because everything was packed too tightly, it was impossible to get a spoon into the glass without things coming out of it. It was a chore and unpleasurable. I understand that using cereal is a thing for these desserts. IMO this is a very cheap and low end ingredient for something with a perceived elevated experience as Nana's tries to present. I don't believe Nana's in Hawaii had glasses, just plastic cups, so having cereal in my dessert that came in a plastic cup really didn't phase me, but with all that cereal pouring out of the glass cup as I tried to get the contents inside that tiny glass was a really frustrating experience. It just didn't add-up. It made no sense what was happening. The parfait had one small scoop of hojicha and the majority of the glass was full of plain soft serve. As I said, in So Cal we have so, so many choices. What is the point of coming to this place for vanilla soft serve? We will not be back - very disappointing. My wife and I grew up in the area, so I understand that the buildings are old, but Nana's was a new build at the time of this writing, and it looked like it had been there for a decade. I understand that there are things that can't be done about the building, but I did expect more from the interior. As the sun was blasting in my kid's faces, I noticed there were no shades. I also noticed they didn't clean their windows! Because of the sun blaring in their eyes, I then noticed the lack of finish in the window sills... I heard this was a flagship store, but sorta seems like a neglected franchise.

Soft spoken and kind, we were very at ease with him. The restaurant itself was beautiful and the couches are very comfortable, which was a huge plus. The ginger ale is made in house and is many tiers higher than Canada Dry. We ordered the Panda Beef and the Panda Inn Special because it was our first time there and why not? Lean in to what their specials are. Both dishes were amazing. The Panda Inn Special featured large plump bites of lobster, chicken, and shrimp, with a medley of vegetables and smaller pieces of pork. The Panda Beef was shockingly amazing with crisp and flavorful slices of beef. We finished up dinner with Chocolate Lava Cake and the Warm Rice Pudding, the latter of which is also made in house. Both were a very great end to the dinner. Other notes that were very appreciated: - the checkbook and how nice it looked -they took the parking ticket with the check so we didn't have to go validate it ourselves - white rice is free? - the bar had an automatic wine glass shiner that was fun to look at - take out bag has a very luxury feel to it

Loved the jammy egg too. It was a soy marinated egg. There were also three pieces of chashu too! It was good, but slightly overcooked. The portion of the ramen was medium sized and was surprised they didn't bring a smaller size since it was a set meal. But happy they were generous! Spicy tuna don was a small bowl, but they gave a good portion of spicy tuna, which was delicious. Chicken karaage were two pieces of chicken and it was just okay. No tsukemono was served with the meal. Overall the meal was satisfying. I think the price was fair for what was given. CUSTOMER SERVICE Good, friendly and attentive customer service. No complaints! AMBIANCE / TABLES + SEATS Very calm and relaxing ambiance. It was quiet and no music was playing, which I liked. The restaurant was super clean and I liked how the tables were set. Large tables in the back and small tables were closer to the front. Bar seats on the side. It was a medium-sized restaurant, but the layout made it feel larger. Clean bathroom too. PARKING The closest and most logical parking spot was the one right across from the restaurant. School House Garage on 33 E Green St, Pasadena, CA 91105. Rates: $1.00 first 2 hrs, $2.00 for each additional hour. $12 for the full day. I liked the set menu, it was good for the price and I would like to return to try their other lunch menu items, whether it would be a set menu or a la carte.

I had such a great experience at Urban Plates in Pasadena! From the moment I walked in, everything felt welcoming, clean, and organized. The staff was super friendly and patient while I decided what to order, and the food came out fresh and hot. I ordered the crispy fried chicken plate, and it was honestly amazing. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, with just the right amount of seasoning. You could tell it was made fresh and not sitting around. The fries were golden and lightly seasoned -- not greasy at all -- and the green beans were cooked perfectly, still bright and flavorful with a nice little snap to them. I also loved the slice of bread on the side; it was soft with a little crisp on the outside and topped with herbs that gave it extra flavor. The sauces they included were a great bonus too -- creamy, flavorful, and they paired perfectly with the chicken. Every part of the plate felt balanced and high quality. The atmosphere inside the Pasadena location is really nice. It feels modern but still comfortable, and it's a great place to hang out with friends or family. I typed lemonade on Yelp to get the address and urban plates popped up...they tryna steal my business from lemonade. Well I fell for it! Since I was with one of my homeboy and not a girl, I hesitated about taking him to lemonade because it's a bit on the slim side. It seems that urban plates got some healthy options,but also a dank ass looking steak at the same time. ^.^ 10 minutes later, we rolled up to urban plates and the homie parallel parked his whip like a G. We got to the line and was a bit confused about how to order. Finally we learned that if you're here for the steak, then please pass by all the peepz that are waiting by the salad bar. Ain't no salad eating rabbits in me today! Give me Mah Meat! the Season and sauce on my steak was great. Seriously, I was so HEPPY. the one serious thing that they got to fix is how to deliver a hot steak. my steak barely had any warmth (it doesn't even deserve the word heat) coming off of it. Since we decided to eat outside...it was literally cold within 5 minutes. Overall I'm digging this alternative to lemonade. Not that I hate lemonade or anything. The sides that came with the steaks were tasty and flavorful. The tomato basil soup I got was wonderfully delicious. But seriously though, turn up the heat on that steak some how or lose some serious business. If I wanted some cold protein I'd have some sushi. read more

Theres plenty of Tables to choose from to have plenty of Privacy. This is the perfect place to eat intimately esp when youre on a date or even when youre by yourself... Secondly: the Food is very TASTY, Delicious, and satisfyingly filling. Naturally theres a lot of good places to eat from w "good" food. But the next step is the Customer Service. And everyone is Friendly and kind here. Because I really dont care how good the food is, if the service is LACKING? Theres no way I will come back.
