Stopped by Urban Skillet in Riverside for brunch and overall had a good experience, mainly because of the food. The restaurant has a casual, trendy brunch vibe and the menu is full of creative options that sounded really good. We tried the Brisket S'Mac Wrap, the Eggcelent Morning, and the truffle fries. The brisket wrap was flavorful and filling, with a nice balance of savory and cheesy. The Eggcelent Morning was solid comfort food and definitely satisfied a brunch craving. The truffle fries were crispy, well-seasoned, and a great shareable side. Service was the one downside. It was not very attentive, and we waited longer than expected for check-ins and refills. It was not terrible, but noticeable enough to impact the experience. Not to mention, it was not very busy at all around the time weren't, which was on a Wednesday around noon. Overall, the food was good and I would come back, especially when in the mood for brunch. With a little improvement in service, this could easily be a great go-to spot

Stopped by Urban Skillet located in University Village near University of California Riverside and it did not disappoint. I ordered the Southwest BBQ burger and it was excellent. The meat had so much flavor that I didn't even need to add any extra sauce. You can tell the quality right away. My mom ordered the brisket melt and you can imagine how good that was too. The place was pretty quiet when we went, but the server was very nice and handled everything alone, bringing the food out in about 10 minutes. If you're near University of California, Riverside and craving a solid burger, this is definitely a place worth stopping by.

First time here and I'm not a huge fan. Ordered 3 things and it was nearly $50. Waiting 30 mins and the food was mid honestly not worth $50 or the 30 min wait. Look at the fries we had a bite or two but it barely had any sauce or meat $13-$14 for a small portion isn't worth it.

Honest review: I think the food was ok but it's too pricey for what you get. Urban double, Brisket Fries, and drink came out to $33. I know they are promoting non gmo and no antibiotics but damn.. at least make it bigger. Other thing I didn't like is that the brisket had a texture of ground beef which I think is a little nasty and lazy. Would I come again? I'm not sure... there are better burger places than this for cheaper. Service was good and the place was neatly kept.

This location used to be an Indian restaurant and now it seems to be a $14 burger joint selling halal grass fed burgers. The interior is pretty normal for a fast food place with big TVs that were showing images instead of TV. We arrived near opening time and were able to make our orders quickly. They eventually served our burgers over the glass divider which was kind of strange. Otherwise, service was fine for essentially fast food. The food itself was fine but IMHO not so spectacular as to justify the price. The sweet potato fries we got were a little under fried which is probably healthier but not as satisfying. The chicken burger was tasty but would have been better with more sourness in the Cole slaw or sauce. The impossible burger was meh. Definitely had better. My colleague got a beef burger and didn't make any comments so I assume it was also fine but not amazing. I'll come back sometime to try a beef burger but for now, I'm not holding my breath.

Super clean establishment. Courteous customer service, fresh ingredients, tasty selections. 1st time here, I will definitely be back, the meat is so juicy and tender and not over or undercooked. The brioche bun was nice at toasty in the right places, omg SO good. Fries are nice and krispy which is great when they have toppings and sauce all over them. My husband ordered the hot burger and he said it was delicious. We will be back. Oh and everything was made ok the spot, not pre cooked!

Parv was amazing--helpful, polite, and welcoming and clean establishment. He came out to ask every patron how the food and experience was. The burger was absolutely delicious! There's ample indoor seating and a few spots outside as well. Parking is plentiful since it's located in a plaza. Highly recommend this place!

I liked the official food art pictures enough to stop by yesterday. In particular, the wrap stuffed with BBQ brisket and macncheese [sic.] seemed like a good place to start. It wasn't terribly busy a little after noon, one table with three guys and a small family in the back. None had food on the tables and appeared to be there for a while. Anyhow, I ordered almost immediately, the guy was nice and I grabbed a small table to wait. After about 15 minutes I was starting to get antsy, and the food was only going to the other two tables. It seems they waited a good deal longer than myself. After a false start (a late item to another table) my wrap arrived. An apology regarding the wait was mentioned, and appreciated. Taste and appearance: Well, it didn't really resemble the official photo, nor could it possibly be eaten by hand without a colossal mess. Moreover, the macncheese was very loose, and until I ate the second half very little brisket was encountered. Apparently it was lopsided in distribution instead of blended. The tortilla in the official photo appeared to be slightly grilled to warm it up. Not so here. In fact, it tasted and behaved exactly like a lukewarm tortilla from the bag. The brisket was buried in the sauce so it tasted OK, but non-distinct. On account of the long wait and lackluster outcome, I seriously doubt I'd return to try a burger or anything else, even if a few things sound interesting.

Service: when I ordered the cashier just handed me the receipt. No thank you, no saying this is my order, so "we'll call you up when it's ready". No big deal. But after waiting about 20 min I see someone who ordered way before me pick up his order and the employee finally asks if I ordered something. I have my order number and my order was sitting there for who knows how long. Food: I got the s'mac and cheese burger. The onion in the onion ring was so tough that it came out of the breading after the first bite. The Mac and cheese was pretty good, somewhere between craft and home Mac and cheese. Smash patties were pretty good. No crisp, but overall consistency not bad. A tiny bit bland overall, but better than too salty I guess. The pickles actually give it much needed acidity. Tried this place on their grand opening and they were amazing. I definitely recommend. I had the buffalo chicken fries and the Oreo shake to go along with my southern bbq burger. I shared this with my friend. The portions are huge. The service was great and they were very helpful. I love the open kitchen. I was able to see my burger get made which is very comforting. My only reason for 4 stars, there was only one couple seated and eating so it wasn't busy. There were 4 employees standing behind the counter. visited Urban Skillet recently after hearing great things about their burgers--and I'll be honest, the food really delivered. The burger was delicious, and the overall atmosphere was exactly what you'd want from a casual spot like this. Unfortunately, what should've been a great experience was completely overshadowed by a serious hygiene concern. As we walked in, a staff member (a heavier-set Indian man) was wearing gloves while adjusting the TVs. At first, it seemed harmless. But then he proceeded to take our order, still wearing the same gloves--and repeatedly touched his face and nose area while doing so. He wasn't digging into his nose, but constantly grabbing at it, which was hard to ignore. What really crossed the line for me was that he never changed those gloves. He handled our drinks, interacted with other surfaces, and then--shockingly--walked straight into the kitchen to assist with food preparation. Still wearing the exact same gloves. This kind of cross-contamination is a major health and safety issue. It doesn't matter how good the food is--if basic cleanliness isn't being followed, people will stop coming. It honestly grossed me out, and I couldn't enjoy the rest of the meal without thinking about it. Urban Skillet has great potential, but this type of behavior can seriously damage the reputation they're trying to build. I really hope management takes this seriously and reinforces proper food safety standards with their team. I'd love to return, but only if I can trust the food is being handled with care. read more

WOW!!!!!! I can only speak for the mac n cheese & holy moly, the employee did not lie! The mac n cheese is FIRE!!!!! Young sir with dark straight hair, Thank you so much for being awesome and so personable. I've had almost all the mac n cheese in riverside & this is definitely the best. The size of the side mac n cheese is giant!! It came out to $5.46 (June 2025). I will absolutely be back. The restaurant is nice and has a relaxing environment. Music isn't playing loud and the employees in the back do not make a lot of noise. It's definitely has a nice ambiance. If their mac n cheese is this good, then all their food must be! read more

If you haven't tried Urban Skillet Riverside you're I had the Southern Bbq burger and the sweet potato fires but I already can't wait to come back and try the brisket sandwich and onion rings and there elite hot dog menu! Everything was packed with flavarrrrr! Incredible sweet potato fries were delicious cooked to perfection as well as the burger! Came in relatively empty. Super slow ordering process, and two burgers and fries took twenty minutes for them to make. The kids burger order was simple: no cheese, lettuce onion tomato. She asked me to repeat that four times. The kids burger still came out with grilled onion, lettuce, and pickles, which my picky son wouldn't eat. Adult burger was fine, but messy. Overall for $30 it was a bad experience and I wouldn't come back. read more

My husband, son, and I decided to take a quick trip down to Los Angeles, and while there, we wanted to try something different other than a McDonald's or any regular worldwide restaurant. We found this nice restaurant. The atmosphere was nice, and the food was great, feeling and tasting fresh! I ordered the Southern BBQ Burger, and it was pretty big in size. Also, the employees were friendly and helpful! If we return to Los Angeles in the future, I'm definitely going to order from here again. Went with my dad to run some errands around Riverside and stumbled on urban skillet and luckily it was during there grand opening and food was phenomenal. My dad got one of the owner's favorites. My dad Pretty much cleared the plate. I got the brisket sandwich and skillet fries and truly did not disappoint. Server was great at taking our order and food was professionally placing the tray. I finish off my food with a milkshake and was literally the cherry on top. Perfect! Ambience was clean and friendly and would definitely visit again whenever around the area. We got the Galbi, beef belly, intestine, garlic, and lettuce wrap on the paper menu. On the counter, they have fried calamari, sweet potato tempura, fried rice, white rice, miso soup, spicy tofu soup, and rice paper wrap. Then they have a separate counter for the raw meat: beef bulgogi, spicy pork, pork collar bone, pork slices, spicy calamari, and then another longer counter with all the banchan, radish, noodles, potato salad, a variety of kimchies, jalapeno, sauces, etc. Basically everything else that you want is all self-served, and you have to go up there and get it yourself. The wait staff comes by now and then to refill our drinks, change our grill, and clear away any unused plates (from the raw meats). We had a good time here, good food and overall good experience. The ambiance is casual, the establishment is kept clean, and the wait staff are all efficient and friendly.

While I must say that I've experienced better beef burgers elsewhere, the ones we had at Urban Skillet were still quite satisfactory and had their unique appeal. I was in the area for gas but could not resist the inviting aroma from the truck! I was greeted by an existing customer who suggested I try fries, Sharma plate and the burger. I tried the single Burger combo. The meat was cooked to perfection. Grilled, juicy flavor, smooth down my throat! The left over feeling was pure satisfaction, never a heavy feeling you can get from fast food. This was not fast food! It was a crafted masterpiece of flavor. The owner uses a mixture of flavors, with a garlic like sauce that compliments the fries. The fries were also fresh, flavored well and had the cant eat just one affect on me! The location is well lit, busy on the corner if traffic present. Free parking at the arco. The owner was a delightful gentleman. He asked good questions, ensuring I did want the pickles and lettuce, what kind of drink as well as offered me a first time customer rate. Not sure if that applies always but I appreciated the gesture. The prices are very reasonable too. I will return! The flavor, I can not forget. The customer service, I would never not tell someone else about. However, the taste of that burger and fries will have me trying other menu items! Job well done Sir! The bun was kind of smashed and gummy but held together. Sorry to say, but for me, Lucky Greek just isn't worth going to anymore.
