We've recently come back to Urbano and while the food is still good quality, we've noticed the prices have raised quite a bit, and there's a note on the menu that says the menu prices are cash prices only, and credit card payments will incur additional cost (but doesn't say what that is). With most people using credit card these days, that's definitely something concerning; I recommend just raising your prices (again, I guess?) to cover the credit card inconvenience rather than having some ambiguous statement and misleading prices on the menu. Or rather, have the prices be CC prices on the menu, and offer a discount for cash. Regardless, the ambiance hasn't changed much at all in years - still the same, reliable Urbano. Inside or outside -- two totally different experiences in my opinion. Outside when the weather is nice makes this place a game changer and someplace fun to stay and drink margaritas and eat guacamole for hours! Inside, it's more of an eat-and-go vibe. I still like Urbano, but I'm sad about the price-messaging on the menu. I hope that changes soon because I want Urbano to stay around and there are way better ways to execute mitigation of cost inflation (that we're all feeling, let's face it). No need to leave customers in the lurch feeling captive to unknown "additional fees" because they didn't remember to stop by the ATM for cash before coming to the restaurant. read more

I was here around noon on Saturday and to my surprise, the dining room was empty. Maybe it's a hangout for the evening crowd because there was plenty of space inside, as well as, outside. I got the jalapeño poppers and beef enchiladas. It came with chips and salsa as well. Both were great. I would definitely eat there again. read more

Hadn't been in a while. But wanted to get some familiar delicious food. We arrived Sunday 3/01 2 adults, 2 kids around 11:30AM and were seated quickly. We got the menus and seemed the prices were much higher than before. I understand, we're all feeling it and we always try to support local when possible. We split 1 entree, 4 bar drinks and 2 kids meals and it was $100 before tip. That's too much for lunch. My kids beef enchilada was mistakenly served with chicken, but since he was hungry and there wasn't a price difference we didn't send it back. Additionally the receipt showed a separate total for cash vs card prices. Again I understand there's fees charged and the restaurant can't get out of that. But didn't see any signage or notice posted in the restaurant advising of this. Our server was attentive and during the meal he asked if we needed more tortillas for fajitas and we did. But there was an additional $2 added for those. Which was not advised at the time. Seemed excessive. I did send an emailed recap Sunday 3/01 after our visit but hadn't heard back. By contrast we dined at a different Tex Mex joint in Flower Mound the week prior and got an appetizer, 3 adult meals, 2 kids meals, and 4 bar drinks for $6 more. We'll always have fond memories at Urbano but might just be a drinks only place on future visits. read more

The food was fine, but our server was a little scattered, and we had to ask her for every little thing, such as cutlery, napkins, and water. Perhaps she was new and if so I'll give her some leeway. My chimichanga platter was plentiful and fresh. Taste was good, but nothing remarkable. House margarita with grenadine was refreshing, though not very strong. Tex-Mex restaurant that doesn't feel like a Tex-Mex restaurant. The decor looks more appropriate for a BBQ joint and they played country music which really threw off the vibe. Service is fast and friendly though and food is pretty good as well. Zachery was our server and although he was new, he would never assume anything and would always go confirm a menu question with the staff. My husband and I ordered the ceviche and combination fajitas. I probably won't order the ceviche again as it tasted a little dry with not much flavor, but my husband seemed to enjoy his fajitas. Had to wait to be seated because all the wait staff seemed preoccupied with phones or busy work- no one was watching the door. Got a table in the bar. Chips & salsa delivered immediately both were good. Took a minute to get drinks. Food portions were large and we enjoyed everything we ordered. I recently moved to the area (from SA) and have been searching for some good TexMex and am glad I found this place! The enchiladas remind me of home! The only thing I wish they did was put more of the chili con carne sauce on top! They have a decent drink selection. The inside is kinda dark but nice, along with the restrooms. Urbano offers the usual choices that you'd expect to find on any Tex-mex restaurant menu around, enchiladas, tacos, fajitas, etc. So, what makes them different and special? One answer is drink specials! You can't beat deals like $3 house margaritas and $4 swirls all day on Mondays. They also have happy hour specials throughout the week as well as on Sundays. What else? The salsa! It's so flavorful and spicy, not too runny. Long after I should have been done eating and bursting at the seams, I couldn't stop myself from having more chips and salsa. They also offer a variety of sides to choose from with many of the entrees rather than the default refried beans and rice that most places serve. Of course you can still get those but it's always nice to have other options. Our dinner entrees were the Maria enchiladas for me and the carnitas enchiladas for my husband. The red sauce on the Maria enchiladas was so good. It's the star of the meal. He wasn't quite so enamored with his enchiladas. The tomatillo sauce on top wasn't doing the carnitas any favors with it's lack of flavor and slight bitterness. They also have a large patio for outdoor dining when the weather permits. read more

Placed order and requested delivered by Uber. Food was terrible. Chicken Tacos Al Carbon were dry and totally cold. Chili Relleno was also very dry, cold and extremely small. I've passed by here many times and finally made it out to try. I love that it's close to the dog park and has a dog-friendly patio, making it convenient for a great meal after the dog park. Even though it's winter, they have heaters and a closed off area to keep it warm. The owner even stoped by to check and make sure we were comfortable and asked if we wanted another heater turned on! Our waitress was very friendly and helpful in picking out a meal. I had Ninfas enchiladas which were amazing and the guacamole appetizer was great as well. Drinks were perfect too! The restaurant is very clean and they follow COVID19 protocols with automatic soap and paper towel dispensers in their bathroom, glass dividers for tables and mask wearing staff! I give this place a 1 star review due to the bad attitude given when placing a Togo order, as well as the old food given to us. The corn looks like was scooped out of the bottom of the pot and had been sitting there for atleast a day and being covered on top by the "new" corn. The bacon on the peppers being burnt and tasting like old grease. My family and I used to love going to urbano specifically for their peppers but it seems to only be going down hill. We kept giving this restaurant hope that it will get better but this is the last time we will be ordering from urbano. I only hope that this post is being seen by management and that there needs to be a major change. read more

Great place- so glad we tried it! First off we loved the decor- rustic and industrial using reclaimed materials. Second we loved the patio space! Can't wait to come back in better weather. Third the Mexican martinis- . Never can go wrong and you can usually only find these in Texas so drink up. We enjoyed the fajita salad and kids meals. Had to top it off with sopapillas- yummy!!! It took me quite a few years to come back after my first experience was not good. 3 years later, I was in the area and decided to try again with a different dish. I got the queso with brisket and would go back just for that. That was not something I would usually get added to queso but now I know that is the way to go. Very well seasoned brisket and with some chips it could actually turn into a meal. Tried the jalapeno poppers and wow. Those were great as well. Bacon joy. The fajitas were good but not earth shattering. Very comparable to other places. I would get them again but that brisket queso is where the happiness is. Their prices are a bit more than comparable quality establishments. So take that into account when going there. Likely the cost of location and has been that way for the past 3 years. read more

I just moved to the area and wanted to check out new spots. Don't try this one. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, a chimichanga, and the queso. Everything came spilt and leaking out of the boxes. The queso was the same consistency of soup. It also came w beef, guacamole and other things added which was not in any description (which I do not eat beef and could not separate the two) and we ended up throwing it away since it was so soupy and had beef. It was a pleasant surprise when I ordered the Mojo de Ojo. As stated on the menu, I expected a simple shrimp dish sautéed in garlic and lime served with rice and vegetables. What I got is a very scrumptious shrimp dish sautéed in garlic & lime, served with mushrooms, red & green bell peppers, carrots, and cucumbers. In the middle was the rice. The spices topped on the shrimp brought a bit of heat to make the meal even more enjoyable. I just wished the shell from the shrimp tail had been removed. read more

Ok, I don't want to sound extreme, but I never tried worse Tex Mex food, this is my first time eating from here, i took to go, I asked for the tacos al pastor, nothing more far from the real tacos al pastor, the meat preparation is not even similar, just pork meat with condiments but definitely not pastor, the flavor was not imposible to eat, one of the sides was a kind of tortilla soup, this was super salty, went to the trash, I asked also for the chicken enchiladas, this was really impossible to eat, the same that the soup, the sour cream very very sour, and the flavor terrible, I don't know who teaches them to cook, this is only for people that use to eat frozen food no tasty at all. They gave a spicy sauce, horrible, just vinegar with lemon and chiltepin chile. This place have a nice patio, terrible kitchen, I am apologize, I will never going back. read more

Just went to Urbano for Friday happy hour with a girl friend and had the best experience! From the moment the sweet hostess greeted and sat us to the friendly servers to meeting both owners we felt more than welcomed and had such a great night. There was awesome live music, quick and delicious margaritas, tasty food and it felt like money well spent! We had margs, Lynn's queso (yummmm) and the appetizer platter so we could try a bit of everything. They were all delicious. Even got the chocolate tres leches cheesecake to take home. SO GOOD! This place might just have the best patio in town. What's even more is their food and drinks are fantastic. I live nearby and eat here at least once a week. I generally order their taco plates, on a rotating basis, as you can't go wrong. The street corn is a must in my opinion. As for drinks, I enjoy the spicy margarita, or two. Full of flavor and just the right amount of bite. The staff is very friendly and it's not uncommon to enjoy a nice conversation with the owners. My only complaint is the salsa- I always have to ask for more because it is so dang good. read more
