As someone who has a lot of anxiety already when it comes to getting dental work done, I didn't like Dr.Levy. I had a root canal done and came back about 5 times throughout that process, there was a real lack of transparency about the timeline of when things would happen and very little communication about what would be happening every time he came in to do work. Not only that, the few times I went there and was waiting to be seen, every single person who was checking out had an issue with being overcharged. One after the next. Mind blowing. Scam, awful, avoid!!! Dr. Levy pressured me into replacing a filling that I had gotten when I was a teenager. Not only did his office OVERCHARGE me and send me several surprise bills for way more than they quoted, but the filling fell out ONLY ONE YEAR LATER! The original filling was done when I was a teenager and had lasted me for over a decade with no problems, then he pressured me into redoing it. When I called the office to see if they would fix it, the receptionist rudely told me "Well sometimes fillings last years and sometimes they only last one day" - SHE REALLY SAID THAT! read more

This is an old-school dentist. I paid over $600 and received a filling that lasted only about a year. All of the fillings I got from them were sensitive for many months afterward. Dentist was unfamiliar with a condition I have that makes Novocaine less effective - they blamed it on me, saying "sounds like you're having trouble getting numb". When there is an expensive procedure that needs to happen, Dr. Levy never makes the assumption that someone can afford it -- the way some other doctors do. I visited the office on March 3rd, 2022. I paid the full amount of $138. My insurance stated that I should be charged $48.8. They overcharged me and promised to send me a check on 4/30. A month later, I reached out since I haven't received the refund. No body replies until a third follow. A employee named Josie replied:"I will remind him next week." No apologies no thank you for your patience not even a polite 'Hi'. For anyone you have a similar experience, I suggest to file a complaint with NY dental board. read more

I have no complaints about the dental care my husband and I both received over the years at Dr. Levy's office. Sadly, since the moment my husband's root canal (the crown portion) could not be finished (in spite of the fact he was told it wouldn't be a problem) we've both been given the run around by Jessica regarding the refund of what he pre-paid for his services. It's been several months now. I also asked for my dental records to be sent to my new dentist and was assured after 3 phone calls and an e-mail that they would be. Weeks later and I still have not gotten them. I truly don't know what's going on in the administrative side of the office but this went from being a class act to a questionable business. My next step is to file a claim with my dental insurance as they did not refund them either when services were not performed for my husband. Very sad indeed.... Update 11/27/18; After posting this review my husband and I both received a phone call from Dr. Levi himself. He apologized profusely for letting the aforementioned issues go unresolved and sent us the refund/my dental records. I appreciate that he handled this personally and repeat that the dental care we both received while patients of this office was very good. read more

I actually do love going to Dr. Levy's office twice a year for checkup. It's always pleasant experience every time I visit there. I trust Dr. Levy because he immediately noticed my dental history by looking/examining and always gives me great advice if I have any concerns. i cant say enough good things about this place! I hate going to the dentist and they make the experience way easier. The staff is great! They are all extremely friendly and seem to love their job. This is my second review of Dr. Uri Levy. Unfortunately my first one was "filtered" because apparently it was too positive and it was "flagged" as a "solicited" review. I recommend Dr. Levy highly. I will try not to oversell him to avoid being filtered again. But the bottom line is he is a great dentist that cares about the health and welfare of his patients. I have been going to his practice for almost a decade. Friends, family and co-workers have all gone here and he has yet to disappoint anyone of them. His staff is great and his offices are clean and up to date. Even the workers of the building on the ground floor make you feel welcome as soon as you walk into the lobby. I've been going to Dr. Levy for almost seven years, and initially really liked him. However, as time passed, I felt like he started to become more abrupt and unfriendly. Then, when I began to have pain in one of my teeth, he refused to investigate beyond an xray and stated that there were no problems. Come to find out (after a second opinion, a ton of pain and trouble later) that my nerve was dying, and I had a large infection. I was also not told by him that it was possible to do a root canal through a bridge without having to replace it. I would have had to pay thousands of dollars to him unnecessarily. Thankfully my new dentist, Dr. Lim (thank you yelp sending me his way) is fantastic! However, it should be noted, that his staff is wonderful, and have always been warm and helpful. read more

After not going to a dentist for 5 years but taking great care of my teeth, I found Dr Levy through my office. During my exam he said my teeth looked great but I had a small cavity in a lower left tooth. I was surprised since I hadn't been feeling any discomfort in that tooth. I went back a few weeks later for a filling. It started with him sticking the needle with Novocain directly into my nerve which was so painful I almost shot through the ceiling. That had never happened with other dentists. I've had a few fillings in my life, but none had ever taken so long and was so uncomfortable. A month afterwards I still couldn't open my jaw all the way without pain. And now, 3 months later I can't chew on my left side without shooting pain where the filling is and even my upper tooth above it. I fear this is now a permanent problem. read more

So as my time under Time Warner insurance was running out because we were all about to get laid off if we didn't do something quick, I decided that I needed a check up for mah teeth as I haven't had one in about a year or so. I just wanted the nearest dentist I could find, and I called up Time Warner's resident nurse, the nicest lady in the world. She suggested Dr. Levy who was only about a block and a half away. It's a pretty convenient midtown location actually, nearby the yellow and F trains on 57th. Anywho, the office was really nice and as I came in, I actually was able to have a conversation with a woman who had worked at Miramax and new people at New Line a long time ago. We reminisced about people we mutually knew (which was very slight due to the fact that her era was before mine) but she had been a patient of Dr. Levy's for a while now and seemed really at ease with the staff, who was incredibly nice (as most private practice staff are). I have no qualms about dentists really or going to them, I don't mind at all. As Krasinski said in Smiley Face, it's a place where they take care of you in a sense, your teeth are going to be taken care of. Which is true, but I can understand how it's nervewracking to a lot of people. Maybe it's because I had a lot of cavities when I was little so all those hilarious procedures are kind of over (haven't had one in years). My wisdom teeth pulling was a lot of fun and hilarious for me. Dr. Levy's practice is fairly sleek, the sitting room is small but the staff is fairly talkative, but the hygienist was about my age so all we talked about were bars and what kinds of night spots we liked to go to and discussed Bay Ridge at length while she was making my gums bleed (I feel good that I've taken up flossing again, because I just realized how bad it looks to these guys). Dr. Levy came away from looking at my mandibles with the correct answer: everything looks fine. I'm sure there's a bunch of things that he could tell, such as how much alcohol, cheese, and diet soda I consume, but whatever. He's a nice man, fairly compact with a friendly smile and not really intimidating or anything, he is at ease with his profession and how he does it. So what gives this four stars (because nothing compares to Dr. Bradley upstate in Albany)? The fact that they sent me a birthday card. read more

Initially my wife had some work done with Dr. Levy over a period of roughly one year; and after all was said and done, her teeth were fixed properly, painlessly and within a very reasonable budget. During the whole process I noticed how attentive the staff was, and that after the first visit my wife was on a first name basis with most of them - always a good sign, especially in New York. My experience was just as good - helpful staff, professional attitude and reasonable prices. This review is purely based on the free consultation appointment that I got through a health fair that happened at my office. I was expecting an exam and going over the xrays they took. I was hoping that the doc will talk to me about the general health of my teeth. None of that happened. People were nice to talk to. They took xrays, doctor looked at my teeth normally and told me to get cleaning done. That's it. The xrays were never shown nor discussed and I was told they will be looked at when I come for cleaning appointment which I will be paying for of course so honestly I felt like I wasted my time going here. What's the point of taking the xrays if you are not going to be looking at them. May be my understanding of a consultation was wrong. read more

A friend recommended Dr. Levy for a second opinion (since all the other dentists I visted gave me nightmares and kept charging me for unecessary things) so I decided to go and it was truly the BEST decision I have ever made! I have been going off an on to Dr Levy for years, the off only because I wasnt in the country and I have had no problems with him at all. The staff are fabulous and Dr Levy always remembers me ( it was 3 years since the last time I was there ) and if there is an alternative to a costly procedure he will discuss the options. I had a crown put in and it just wanst sitting right so I went in emergency like and he fixed it for me. I you are looking for someone that will actually listen then this is the place. read more
