My husband and I come here for what we call Poke Tuesday, a tradition we started during the pandemic. We enjoy their food as it's fresh and the portions are hefty. For my base I get a combination of rice, broccoli, and spring greens. I order the 2 scoop bowl and often have a hard time finishing it. I like yellowtail and salmon. For the sides you get 6 scoops so I usually get 1 crab, 1 avocado, 1 edamame, 1 onion, 2 cucumber. I like the original sauce with spicy and then for the toppings I get most everything with the exception of ginger and lime although last Tuesday I saw a guy just get lime as the sauce and that looked pretty refreshing so I'll probably try that one of these days. They used to be an affordable option, now they are amongst the highest priced. I still went, until I noticed that they started reducing the quantity of fish they put in the bowl. Honestly this location needs some work... I come here often due to living down the street and working nearby, but every time I come, something is always wrong with the order. From different proteins to different sauces, to me even listing an allergy...it's constantly wrong. If it wasn't for Sadif (I'm definitely wrong for this spelling & im sorry to her), I would be leaving one star. She helped me quality check my order when I asked her if the sauce was on the side (I'm pre-diabetic/I have to make sure there's less sauce in the bowl or else I feel very sick later for the amount of sugar in there). She did offer to take it back and make me a new bowl, but I felt bad as they looked busy in there. The other workers just rolled their eyes and stared, so I appreciated her so much. My question is...how do you guys have at least 6 workers working on a Sunday and not one person can quality check??? It's kind of weird...especially for a restaurant to not quality check. Please make sure your workers know exactly what went in the bowl, so they don't just look at me with googly eyes next time. When asked, they didn't even know if they put sauce in the bowl in the first place... My thing is, if someone comes in telling me they have an allergy and it's listed on a ticket...make sure said item isn't in there or better yet, just make the goddamn bowl how it says to be made.... This is a decent place to get poke. You get a lot of food for the price, about $19 for a three scoop bowl. It is self serve, similar to In N Out, so you finish your food, throw away the trash, and put the tray on the shelf. For a busy weekend afternoon, the service is nice and quick. There was a relatively long line, but I think we got our food within 20 minutes. It helps if you know what you want too. Got the three scoops, which is pretty hefty and plentiful already. Best value is still their five scoops though, but I didn't want to waste food. The scoopers look small but they're not stingy with the scoops, which is nice. Fish was fresh and not fishy at all, and the sides looked good and not old either. I think their sauces are on the blander side for me (I got Uroko Original + Spicy Mayo), but with the sides, it adds dimension to the palate a bit more too. Overall, I'd revisit when I'm in the area and want poke. It's pretty standard for most poke joints (not authentic to Hawaiian poke by any means if that's what you're looking for, of course).
