I love eating breakfast at this location. Although food was super delicious including the iced urth green tea I had, it was slightly hard to find parking. Place is located on the curb next to a roundabout which makes sense why it's hard to find parking. Other wise food was so good especially the spinach and feta omelette. Spanish Latte = fave. Pecan sticky bun also = fave. Usually can't go wrong at Urth Cafe at any of their locations. I love the neighborhood the Orange location is situated in, just down the street from Chapman University. Great spot for a weekend breakfast. Good food, great coffees. Last couple times we visited, the Napoleons were kind of soggy which was a bummer. Came on a Sunday late afternoon for a take out dessert craving. Line was a bit long but it did moved fast. Staff isn't knowledgeable and unfriendly about how we should line up. She even send some out the door as it is blocking the entrance. However, the line isn't even close to the entrance/door, she just send a few out and had them wait outside . Wait time is long. Ordered one drink and it took almost 25 minutes. Ordered some fresh ground coffee bean and they kept asking someone else to bring it to me, that's another 15 minutes wait time. Oh god. Thought we should try this place. I came here to try their smoothie, The Matcha Green tea smoothie was great! Also, the Thai Red Tea with Boba, iced blended was very tasty and different. I loved it! We didn't have time to really try anything as we were in a hurry. I noticed the food was very pricey. I love the rustic theme here and the business of it all! I had the opportunity to attend a friends and family event before the official opening and I was impressed. The inside is so beautiful, the staff is friendly and welcoming, and the food was great! I tried a few items from the menu like pizzas, sandwiches, and pastries. Everything was delicious. My favorite thing by far is the D'lox Pizza. It has smoked salmon, herbed mascarpone, red onions, arugula, fennel, and capers. So delish! There are a lot of healthy organic options. Great food, nice portions. Lots of street parking and hidden back public parking lots but sometimes you have to look when it gets busy. Lots of seating, more than the Laguna location. Great desserts, I like the green tea tiramisu but then I like and prefer everything with green tea. Portions are just right to fill you up. I went on a Friday morning around 9ish - line was out the door but today felt like an Urth Caffe day . Great weather and I was in the mood for a Spanish latte. Went with my mama and we decided on getting two desserts. I will say I wasn't expecting the size of the desserts - they're HUGE. The cashier girly was sooooooooo SWEET. She was helping my mom and I trying to find what she would like . They killed that line over and over again. I never saw the line die down but they are an efficient crew. The tres leches cake is very sweet but not too moist . The matcha tiramisu looks so delicious but it missed the nail. It's not very sweet but that's not a bad thing especially since most people pair it with a coffee beverage. I was a big fan of the middle bottom cake part . Not a fan of the outer exterior with like a whipped cream consistency . I love the ambiance of the restaurant and how it makes me feel. Kinda Gilmore Girl with a LA vibe to it. I will say about the food is that we didn't even finish half of the cakes cause it is pretty sweet. If you have a party of 4 then it would be best to get one. I was up here getting my car worked on and decided to grab lunch nearby with my girlfriend. I ordered the Reuben and my girlfriend went with the Belgian Waflle with nutella and fruit. It was a brunch o'clock sort of meal. We also decided to try the Japanese Tea ( Matcha Latte) and the Cafe Glaccia. I can't blame them for the wait but just be prepared to wait. The food took awhile to come to us but again it's due to the long wait. My reuben was good and the waffle was nothing special just a waffle. The cafe glaccia was nothing out of the ordinary was basically a mocha frappuccino and the japanese tea in my opinion wasn't the best matcha i've had. We decided to finish the afternoon with the oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies and the hazelnut chocolate cake. Which were all delightful. Solid cafe but honestly probably wouldn't come back. Everything was very delicious in general, the employees where polite and answered any questions we had. We sat inside next to a window, it was lovely! The coffee is delicious. The food is below average. First time we went we had a chai and their Spanish latte. Both were excellent. The avocado toast and lox toast were awful because the avocado wasn't ripe. The fruit they put on our plate was also unripe. The second time we went we had again had Spanish latte. It was excellent. But, the paradise salad we had was awful. The remodel was beautifully done and I would 100% go again for a latte, but I will never eat there again. read more

Call me Britney Spears because I must confess... that my thoughts on this place are mixed. The food is always good and fresh (I get their food delivered to me 1-2 per month via Door Dash,) however this location is always SUPER busy and I dislike waiting I the long line because, well, it's long and it also feels cramped. I must be alone on that though - otherwise the line would not be so long, so frequently. I digress, onto the food: I am a fan of their grilled chicken Panini with jalapenos as well as their Urth Salad! So good. Their matcha lattes with oat milk and no sugar are also amazing - much better than starbucks or some of the other tea houses I have been to. I did come here once during summer 2022 and ate in-person. The interior vibe is cool for sure, I am a fan of their blue quartz used throughout in their décor. It's a little on the pricey side but that is to be expected with cafes like this. I will continue to order with them via Doordash. This is the first Urth Caffe I've visited so I don't have any reference to what other locations are like. I like their concept of utilizing good quality ingredients and having plenty of vegan/vegetarian options to choose from. I'm not a big fan of finding your own seat, but I understand this is what is popular nowadays. This location seems bigger than most I've past by so there wasn't really an issue finding a seat here even when it is crowded. As for the food, it's good but nothing extraordinary. I had the wild mushroom pizza on my first visit and it was a bit well-done. My fiance tried their falafel platter and thought it was good, but the hummus was a bit too dry for his taste. During my second visit, I opted for their egg white grilled vegetable omelet with a side of breakfast potatoes. Nothing to write home about especially since the potatoes were not mushy instead of crisp. This Urth's location, aesthetics and set up is prime. The service during a busy weekend stretch can definitely be improved for efficiency. Though, the food, coffees, pastries and teas, are as they should be once you get your order. This is a great place for those chats over a well executed beverage and tasty pastries. Their food portions are generous. The setting of this location is great, located in the charming Old Town Orange Square. Tip: If you are there on a Saturday & Sunday, just expect everything to take a bit longer. The evenings are also consistently lively, which is a good sign for a place like this! Starting with the good: my pot roast sandwich with au jus and horseradish was killer. I'm not a salad guy, so I didn't eat the salad it came with. I ordered a Caffé latte, with the strong espresso roast. It was equally delicious. The not as good: I got here at 2:58pm, thinking it would be less busy if I came between lunch and dinner. I waited in line for 37 minutes, and didnt get my coffee until 3:56. None of this is really the fault of the restaurant. Demand is high, for a good reason. Just keep that in mind when planning on coming here. The only reason I didn't give five stars: it's loud as hell in here. I get that the aesthetic is the exposed brick, and high ceilings with open ceilings to the second floor in places... but good god, I could barely think it's so loud. When the waiter finally came out table, he brought out the wrong dishes but said it was for our table number (great, our order is lost). More time passed and our food finally came.. except the omelette was cold and my salmon toast was soggy. I've been to other locations, but with this service, I also started to realize that their food is actually overpriced, my toast was $18. My mom and I came in this morning to pick up a cake that was ordered in advance and when we arrived we were informed that they did not have our cake and that they are actually not making any specialty cakes due to an overwhelming amount of orders. My mom was surprised because the worker who took her order over the phone confirmed the cake would be ready and my mom even paid ahead of time as well. She never received a call or message letting her know that the cake would not be available for us which is why we still showed up expecting our cake. I ordered a latte, a sandwich and a tiramisu The best bit of my entire order was the dessert My drink was tepid, at best - my sandwich was nearly stone cold and there is nothing in this world that can convince me that the cheese in that thing was ACTUALLY cheese, it had NO flavor whatsoever.
