The assortment of fruit on the French Toast King is such a refreshing touch, combined with the walnuts that add a crunch factor it has everything I could want. ONTOP OF THAT, the french toast is internally soaked in a really delicious sweet milk mixture, I mean absolutely soaked. I was really disappointed with my experience here. We arrived at 9:02 PM, and according to the posted hours, they close at 10:00 PM. When we walked in, there was a very kind employee at the front who told us she would squeeze us in, which we really appreciated especially since we were coming down from an hour away to try urth cafe for the first time. However , another employee came over with her bag already on and looking ready to leave and told the employee helping us that she couldn't squeeze us in because the kitchen was closed. Her attitude made the whole in interaction feel very unwelcoming especially since the first employee had been so kind to squeeze us in. It was frustrating to be turned away almost a full hour before the posted closing time, especially after we had already been told they could accommodate us. If the kitchen closes at 9:00 PM, that should be clearly posted so customers know ahead of time and don't make the trip expecting to be served. Came here on a Saturday morning after a hike and it was pretty packed, but there's a lot of outdoor seating as well as some indoor seating. You order first and then find a seat, which seemed to work well since we didn't have any trouble finding a place to sit. I've tried two drinks from here and both were pretty disappointing. No matter which one you go to, Urth is always busy. Thankfully, they're pretty quick and have things well orchestrated because it usually takes less than 15 minutes to get our food/drinks. The place is always bustling and people park 2 - 3 blocks away just to have a taste of their goodness. The blueberry cheesecake is always a must... Sometimes we eat one there and then take one to go. This time we also tried the tiramisu and Spanish latte granita... both were delicious! I tried the pancetta pizza and after one slice and about 30 minutes, I started getting a migraine. They could've been poached for a bit longer. The white was a bit runny still. The honeydew and strawberries on the side were very ripe and not sour at all. Tasted decent, nothing crazy. We got the huevos rancheros too. The portion size was good. It was borderline salty so it just passed. It had very good flavor and the tortilla on the side was a nice touch. Good with scrambled eggs in my opinion. We got strawberry match and honey vanilla latte. Nothing special from either of the drinks. If you like sweet get the strawberry matcha. We tried both the avocado pizza and the avocado toast, and while both were good, I actually preferred the avocado toast. They take your order at the door, then you pay when you get to the register, then you find a seat. We found a spot around the corner outside in the shade. Our order: Pistachio Latte Margherita Pizza Strawberry Matcha Lasagna Chocolate Chip Cookie Unfortunately, the items I chose weren't so satisfying and wish I had gone with one of their breakfast dishes instead and a different drink too. Pistachio latte was meh. Would go with a matcha latte or a different flavored coffee if I ever visit any of their locations again. The pizza is a bit thick. Although it doesn't have any table for large paty, there is a row of 2-seaters in the side patio that can accommodate 16 people. The line at the front doors are people waiting to place their orders. You get a number after you pay for your order. A server will deliver everything to your table. No one will stop by to check on you. A real tiramisu is made with lady fingers and marscapone filling. This was a dense cake with extensive amounts of frosting.
