Came here on a Saturday morning after a hike and it was pretty packed, but there's a lot of outdoor seating as well as some indoor seating. You order first and then find a seat, which seemed to work well since we didn't have any trouble finding a place to sit. I've tried two drinks from here and both were pretty disappointing. To me, they just didn't have much flavor. The pastries were definitely better. I had the double chocolate croissant and really enjoyed it, and my friend had the cheese danish, which he loved. I'd come back for the pastries, but probably not for the drinks.

Early dinner on a Sunday August. We chose our favorite semi-private table for two out on the front porch, nestled among flowering plants and blooming trees filled with active bird song. Ordered the vegan grilled mushroom pesto and vegetable panini with spinach salad, good and my fellow dinner ordered her usual favorite vegetarian Sweet Potato Ricotta pizza. Fast friendly service, nice relaxed costal atmosphere on pacific highway across street from Laguna's big beach. We shared a large vegan chocolate peanutbutter cookie for dessert. Big menu with lots of healthy vegan & vegetarian options and a very enticing dessert case.

Urth Caffe was alright. I can't say I was blown away. The food came out pretty quick, but I felt like it left a little to be desired. They have very little in the way of meat options. Which, for breakfast, is kind of a must for me. The protein they did offer wasn't my favorite either. I was kind of surprised that they didn't even offer a meat addition for the breakfast sandwich on the menu. So, I went with the breakfast burrito instead. Maybe it's worth another try, and ordering something different. That said, my first experience here wasn't ideal.

No matter which one you go to, Urth is always busy. Thankfully, they're pretty quick and have things well orchestrated because it usually takes less than 15 minutes to get our food/drinks. The place is always bustling and people park 2 - 3 blocks away just to have a taste of their goodness. The blueberry cheesecake is always a must... Sometimes we eat one there and then take one to go. This time we also tried the tiramisu and Spanish latte granita... both were delicious! I tried the pancetta pizza and after one slice and about 30 minutes, I started getting a migraine. No more for me... the combination of cheese and Italian meat or too salty for my brain. Oh well, I'll have to try something else next time hehehe...

Go early!! It gets super busy!! Indoor and patio/outdoor seating is nice. No parking lot. The menu is very big but they have a nice amount of options. I got the salmon lox eggs Benedict $20.75. They could've been poached for a bit longer. The white was a bit runny still. The honeydew and strawberries on the side were very ripe and not sour at all. Tasted decent, nothing crazy. We got the huevos rancheros too. The portion size was good. It was borderline salty so it just passed. It had very good flavor and the tortilla on the side was a nice touch. Good with scrambled eggs in my opinion. We got strawberry match and honey vanilla latte. Nothing special from either of the drinks. If you like sweet get the strawberry matcha. The seats outside are kind of uncomfortable. Careful of the seagulls have someone watch your food at all times lol. Overall 6/10 place

The French toast really saved the day! I would rate it a 10/10. Huevos Rancheros pizza 5/10 Green tamales 5/10 it barely had any green sauce Service was great! The server who brought our order was very kind and helpful Wait time to get into the restaurant was about 15 mins and to get our order about another 15 so it wasn't too bad. Pistachio coffee was ok as well. It's pricey, so read reviews or take a recommendation from a foodie friend before visiting. Inside of the store is beautiful and they had the AC running which was great on such a hot day I do wish I had tried the pastries but we ordered too much. Next time!

Dropped by here for a chocolate chip cookie and a cinnamon honey almond milk latte. The drink was delicious. The chocolate chip cookie a bit dry. My friend got the Aloha Matcha, it was refreshing and rich with tasty coconut and delicious matcha flavor with strawberry purée. The staff was great and setting very spacious with plenty of outdoor seating and interior tables. They offer vegan and vegetarian options. I'd come back for the coffee, Aloha Matcha, and try other things in their menu.

I've always been a fan of Urth Caffé and make it a point to stop by whenever I'm in the LA area. Honestly, I really wish they'd open a location in San Diego because I'd probably be there way too often! What I love most about Urth is that they have so many organic and healthier food and drink options without sacrificing flavor. This time, I stopped by with a friend after a workout for some drinks and a little treat. I tried their new Aloha Matcha, and it was so refreshing. I loved the combination of coconut and spirulina, and the fact that it's vegan was a huge bonus. It tasted light, tropical, and perfect for a warm day. I also got the Vegan Chocolate Chunk Pecan Cookie, which was delicious. And when I say huge, I mean HUGE. Definitely big enough to share... although you might not want to. My friend ordered a hot caffe latte, which never disappoints. It came out with beautiful latte art, and of course we had to stop and take a few pictures before drinking it. The service here is always quick and easy. You order at the counter, grab a number, and they bring everything right to your table. This was actually my first time visiting the Laguna Beach location, and I absolutely loved it. The building reminds me of a charming cottage-style house with a large patio. Inside feels cozy and homey with dining table setups, warm decor, and even a fireplace. There's also plenty of outdoor seating with umbrellas. We ended up sitting outside to enjoy the sunny weather and fresh ocean breeze. The atmosphere was so relaxing that we ended up staying longer than we planned. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the area.

We enjoyed this brunch spot overall and would come back again. Service was good, the patio was dog friendly, and the wait was around 20 minutes, which was not too bad for brunch. Food was good too. I had the napoleon cake. It was not the best one I ever had, but still pretty tasty, and the slice was huge. I couldn't finish it. My boyfriend got the beef hash and liked it. I had a latte and he got a smoothie, both were pretty decent. Only a couple small negatives. The metal chairs were very uncomfortable, especially if you wear a dress, so I'd recommend wearing pants. Also, the beef hash portion could've been a little bigger, maybe with more fries or a small salad on the side.

This Urth Caffé location is so charming. Just like any place in Laguna, parking can be rough, and it's always crowded. They have a big selection of menu items, mostly healthy meals and delicious-looking desserts. This time we just dropped by to order a smoothie. I liked their Amazon Forest Smoothie made with açaí. It was refreshing and beautiful with a flower on top. I just wish it wasn't so crowded all the time.

Went with a friend from out of town to get coffee during brunch on a Sunday. Quick line and plenty of seating available inside and outdoors. The coffee was very satisfying and helped set the mood for the rest of the day for visiting the local Laguna beach, Art museum, Sawdust festival and Art gallery.

First time here and everything was ok. Service was fast. There are inside and outside seatings. Parking is a little difficult. First I ordered the fruit tart and it was actually disappointing. It felt like there wasn't enough flavoring. Fruit tarts are my favorite. Got a tropical smoothie and the ginger was very overpowering. Defiantly don't get that unless you're a fan of ginger. I also got the D'lox toast and that was decent.

So I used to live here in the 90's and this place was walking distance for me so I ate here quite often and for the most part was pretty good food back in the day. And it's a great location and very popular. However, our visit Spring Break 2017 left a great deal to be desired. The wife had blue berry pancakes that looked good but had no flavor whatsoever. Bacon was exceptional. Eggs were cooked properly but were cold when brought to the table. But the worst part was the noise in the inside dinning area (it was cold outside so we ate inside) was unbearably loud. The noise from the espresso machine, steam, and clunking clacking noise from the grinder and packer was horribly loud. The 4 people sitting next to us were trying to have a business meeting and even they complained how incredibly loud. And it was expensive. I would not go back. read more

My teenage son had his first matcha latte here and loved it (them! he had more during our vacation week). We ate breakfast and dinner at Urth and enjoyed the pastries, delicious breakfast foods, and the flourless matcha cake. I tried 3 different lattes and all were tasty and unique - matcha and turmeric. Clam chowder was an especial hit with my 3 sons. Lovely people and lots of seating, even though the place was always jam packed. read more

I moved to Laguna from west LA and Urth was my go-to for latte's and dessert. Great atmosphere and quality food. Spanish latte and tiramisu The line to order food and dine in can get long but it goes fast. TIP skip the long line and order to go. Nothing like a nice walk around Laguna with a phenom coffee or tea drink. read more

I'm having mixed feelings about this place but three stars seems about right for the experience I had today. We came for breakfast and it wasn't too busy in there, there was a short wait to order and the lady seemed rushed and short and honestly pretty rude. We sat and waited 15-20 minutes for food, no big deal. we didn't get any syrup for our French toast but that was an easy fix and the food was actually awesome but it was cold. Everything was cold. The bacon, the French toast, the side of potatoes and it wasn't just me, everyone at our table really enjoyed the food but it was all cold, it wasn't very busy and there were plenty of bussers so it just doesn't make and sense. I would go back but if I food was cold again it would be the last time, maybe it was a fluke? read more

We're from LA and have been to all the different locations, this one has the best location and view but service needs a little help. The manager, Ricky, was great. He helped us and dealt with a very rude customer across from us in a sweet and professional way. Hopefully, the next time we are here we won't get cold lattes and our food won't come 10min apart from one another :) read more

I love love this place everything from the coffee to the food! The cashier on the other hand was not very friendly or helpful. Obviously you should know some simple items off the menu especially if you are working in a restaurant but that's just my opinion. I was really turned off this last time I came but fortunately the food is too good to give up! read more

The tea was delicious, but that's all I can speak on. I always came here after a full meal, so I didn't try the delectables in the display case. But the small pot of tea is plenty for two and the atmosphere makes it easy to sit with groups of people. I liked the Earl Grey, it was floral and delicious. My friends liked their Jasmine Mint and Chamomile. I would definitely come back. read more

Oh my beloved Urth Caffe is in Orange County! I would definitely say this Urth is quite nice sitting on PCH, just feet from gorgeous Laguna Beach. The actual cafe is pretty much like the other Urths: long lines, a lot of indoor seating, expansive outdoor seating, and tough parking (limited to street parking). Anyways, I love all the food, desserts, and coffee from urth... one of my new favorites is the Eggs Salmone. It is awesome for breakfast - crunchy toast, poached eggs, a touch of salsa, avocado, and some smoked salmon wrapping some arugula. It really is nice to try new items on the extensive urth menu, and I am really glad that came across the eggs salmone! read more

Really wanted to love this place. Unfortunately the wait was long...won't take a point off for that. I will however take multiple points off for food literally never showing up after reminding servers that it had not come--three times. I am also taking points off for the food being just decent for the price. Seriously disappointed and I really wanted to love it. I miss you Cottage. Wish you never left. read more

Great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I love their honey vanilla latte as well as the pancakes for breakfast. For lunch I like the sprout sandwich. Always a long line, but that's because it's amazing and worth the wait. Great staff and food runners! read more

Based on the long lines when driving by on prior occasions we had high expectations. (I now understand how the line is created - smart). Geez what a disappointment. We had to remind the waiting staff twice to get our order. It took so long to get the food to the table that it was luke warm by the time we got it. The taste was bland and not very flavorful. This place was disappointing. I saw the building and the opening of the Urth Cafe in Orange and have always thought it looked very impressive and like it must be really good. So when my husband and I were in Laguna over the weekend and were looking for a place with good coffee and a delicious breakfast, we decided to give this place a shot. I will say that the coffee was VERY good and I would get it again. The food however, was soooooooo strange. The flavor combos (or the lack there of) were really off and it was just "okay." We ordered the French Toast and the Eggs Benedict - what could go wrong, right? For starters, they forgot the eggs for the eggs benedict (and we had take out, so that was lame), but beside that it was not good. The "noodle buns," if you will, had the weirdest flavor and were ntot good. They looked good, but they were not. The French Toast looked amazing and I was sooooo excited to eat it, but it also fell way short. The Bread was so dang thick that it was way too much, and together with the syrup had very little taste/flavor. Perhaps we are not the target clientele of this place since we are fairly normal (lol), but still. Everything we ate this weekend was very tasty, and this place... just wasn't read more

I've been here 4 times. First 2 times I would have given it a 5 star review but the last 2 times were just terrible and embarrassing since I had brought guests. The service was extremely slow (to the point that I twice had to ask for a manager about the status of our meals since ordering 40 minutes prior) and then on a recent visit, the same thing happened & my friend's meal and coffee arrived cold. She spoke up and her meal was comp'd. The floor staff seems stretched and unprepared for the customers. It's too bad because I love the location, the menu and their Spanish Latte - but most likely won't be back again. read more

You might want to wait to visit until they get things organized or the staff better trained. Either they don't know how to prepare the food or they just don't care. When we complained we got a $5 gift certificate for a $17 meal that was cold and improperly prepared. Couldn't believe we waited 30 minutes for a blah meal. read more

The food and the drinks were great, once we got them. The servers were very nice and yes it was busy but...my wife and I received our food after 30 minutes of waiting and then 15 minutes later we got our drinks. And then we didn't even get all the drinks we wanted. They couldn't even bring me a freaking iced tea. read more

The food is so good it is the only reason I go back I have waited about 1.5 hours on multiple occasions to receive my full orders. On one occasion I waited about 30 minutes to order. On another I didn't get my latte until after I got my food which was about a 45 minute wait. It's always so busy. Just know it will be a long ordeal. Again it's not like I won't go back because the food is so good but I won't go if I don't have tons of time or if I am not in the mood for a 2 hour lunch. The staff has been ok at best. read more

Five of us came in in the evening, and it wasn't very busy. Three of us got our orders no problem, but it took 45 minutes to get my boyfriend's complete to-go order. At first they forgot, then remembered, but then never came back out to give it to us. There was very little waiting space. Turned out it was placed in a bag and was sitting on the counter behind the cashiers for 30 minutes. The sandwich was luke-warm and nothing special-- definitely not worth it for the time we waited. read more

ALL HYPE .... That's why they only have 3 stars .... The only reason they got 2 stars was the French toast was good ... At least that's what my daughter said.... The lasagna was served room temperature... Soup barley hot .... Employees seem like they are stuck behind the counter .... Management not visible anywhere.... No table touches ..... Wtf .... $70 for 3 people.... This is only a tourist destination because with how the food and service is they won't have return business from locals that's 4 sure read more

Finally an Urth that is closer to home & has easier parking! It seems like it takes a bit longer to get your food served here & the staff can be quite rude, but the food & drinks are still just as great. They do tend to run out of my favorite dishes, but that just causes me to have to discover another pretty awesome one. read more

Fancy coffee drinks, which is great if you drink coffee. The only soda they offer is a cane sugar cola--I would have enjoyed my food way more with a big Diet Coke. The food is more specialty/upscale breakfast--Don't go there if you just want a bagel and cream cheese (not sure their bagel was actually more than a big round roll). Their white bread and wheat bread are very good though. read more

Great location and ambiance, however, the food is so overpriced . I paid 17.00 for ONE slice of avocado toast with tomatoes and spouts on it & an ice tea. Three days later, I went to Scratch in Laguna Hills, and got the exact same meal and drink for less than $9.00. read more

The food and drinks were awesome. Everything was great until we tried to enjoy our meals and couldn't due to the major bee infestation they have. There were countless bees flying around pestering us and even landing in our food and on my baby. It made the whole experience extremely unenjoyable. I understand a few here and there but there was definitely a problem that needs to be solved. read more

So far it doesn't live up to its sister locations. Drinks took way too long to arrive at a time when it wasn't too busy (45min) and they weren't very good. I'm sure it's just the new employees stressed and nervous. Looking forward to trying it again as I'm a huge Urth fan. read more

Was really hoping this would be an awesome new local hangout in Laguna beach, much needed these days in a place that becoming more "OC" by the day. It's theme is Organic cafe, even better I thought! I was sadly disappointed. The service here was terrible. A 20min line for coffee. They charge extra for organic milk or dairy free substitute in your drink, even though they market themselves as exclusively organic. Then it took 30m to actually get our drinks, long after finishing our food. This place is also loaded with tourists and nothing about the decor is particularly cozy, or "urthy", kinda reminded of a ghiradelli store at a mall. I'm only hoping that the disorganization and long wait times were due a failed grand opening execution before being ready for crowds. The food was good but overpriced compared to other healthy eats in town. read more

The coffee is good! All the speciality drinks with coffee ice cream are great! That is where the greatness ends... I would love to give this place a great review but the service here is terrible. I have been twice and both times it took 35 minutes to get our food after the 30 min line. The staff I dealt with were rude and pretty unhelpful. The 3 staff that I did interact with were very much not interested in customer service. The cashier was impatient and not helpful with ordering. The waitstaff were slow and did not care that some of the food we ordered never came out or was super slow. The food was just so so as well. Also, they just never brought one pastry I paid for. I attempted to handle it with them the next time I went and they refused. I was very disappointed. read more

Lovely old cottage and nice patio seating, but the food was, unfortunately, not very good. While the tomato rice soup was good, the turkey I added onto my sprout sandwich was not good at all. And the flavor of the hummus on the sandwich was nothing to write home about. All our food came out separately and my friends' white cake she took back because it tasted very extract like. The chocolate chip cookie was delicious though. read more

Don't try to be different, just get good italian made cappuccino cups. Not sure how this place has the reviews it has but my wife agreed that it was awful. Not a fan and likely would not come back. It just solidifies my theory that most coffee places have no idea how to roast and pull coffee. This is why I stay home and use my Illy classico coffee and gaggia machine instead when home but I was not home this time. Snotty? Yes but why go through life drinking crap coffee and paying for it.

Ok so my best friend and I were on our way to the beach and we wanted to stop to get a cappuccino or latte at a café to keep us warm because it was about 4:30 pm. I had heard so many good things about urth caffe in Los Angeles so I was excited to come and try this place. I did not like the experience at all... 1st: there was hardly anywhere to park. 2nd: the line was out the door and the way the café was designed there was little room to move around 3rd: the staff was over worked and all confused we waited for ever for a simple hot drink, I had to ask where is our drink. 3rd: Then my friend gets her drink and it tastes discussting she didn't even want to drink it, it had so many different spices that were not blendable like nut meg or something mixed with other spices. 4th: I ordered a large coffee iced and it was the size of a small/med drink I drank my coffee while waiting for my friend so we didn't even get to enjoy them on the beach. I do have to admit the coffee did wake me up without jitters... I liked the outdoor patio it looked very inviting and open but very crowded, I would come back to eat because I do want to try their food. 5th: I didn't like that they didn't have food options in their glass case it was only desserts I was craving food but it wasn't worth waiting that long. While I waited I did get some good photos tho since I was waiting so long I thought I'd take some pics of the cute things, Their tea sounded and looked good however it just seemed commercialized and not really healing teas, the inside is just too crowded and the only thing I really liked was the cute heart in the foam but what is a cute coffee without tasting good... WHAT IF STUPID HIPPIES RULED THE WORLD? If gullible morons had no grasp of economics or human history, this is the place they would create. After thousands of years of famine, bad nutrition and monotonous diets, mankind perfected the science of growing food where it grows best, then shipping it to locations where the populace needs it and is willing to pay for it. Along the way methods were perfected to prevent massive losses to insect infestation and genetic imperfections. Farmers, shippers and retailers have delivered to modern man what our ancestors could only dream about. During a visit to Laguna in the Spring of 2017, the local branch of my family suggested going to Urth Caffe for a refreshing wholesome breakfast. I guess they have forgotten what it is like to live in the real world. At Urth Café I found that everything on the menu is labelled "locally grown", "non GMO" and organic". These dopes want to roll back thousands of years of scientific achievement in favor of paying lip service to dietary charlatans. The most enjoyable part of our morning excursion was the last minute decision to visit the Tiki bar right across the street for some pre-lunch cocktails. Read my review on the Royal Hawaiian. One star for the Urth Caffe because I could not give it zero stars plus one star because this place manages to lure throngs to worship at the throne of politically correct breakfasts. My apartment is about a 300 ft walk from Urth Caffe, which looks like a little house on the corner. After receiving a recommendation from a co-worker, and noticing the long stupid lines that crowd the sidewalk, my interest was piqued. Phoned in an order for a Breakfast Pizza and was told it would be ready in 20 min. Walked to Starbucks down the street to grab a coffee and kill time and walked in about 25 min after I called. There's a separate line for phone orders so I paid and was told to stand "over there". Where? "Over there." No sign, no pick-up window, just told to stand in a part of the restaurant that was near the kitchen door but did not look like any sort of pick-up area. After waiting 15 min, I walked back to the phone line thinking I made a mistake, and once again was told to stand in the most out of place random spot in the history of restaurants while being ignored by the waitstaff going in an out. After waiting 30 min in total, I walked back to the phone line and asked what the hold up was and the cashier turned around to pick up a box that was sitting there the entire time. After a leisurely beach walk, we decided to stop by this cafe for a coffee and pastry break. The cafe offers both indoor and outdoor seating, with ample street parking. The wait in line wasn't too bad; it actually gave us the opportunity to review the drink menu and pastry selection without feeling rushed. The place had an inviting feel with a mix of families, individuals working on laptops, and friends meeting up. The indoor seating area was nicely decorated. I especially liked the wall of percolators, and the outdoor seating offered a pleasant spot to enjoy the coastal breeze under umbrellas providing shade from the sun. Unfortunately, the experience didn't meet our expectations. I was eager to try the new Caffe Pistachio, but they were out of most of the key ingredients. I ended up settling for an iced coffee with pistachio milk, but it tasted burnt and I couldn't finish it. Similarly, my daughter's iced matcha latte was a letdown because they were out of both of the syrups she wanted to mix in. To add to the disappointment, despite ordering our drinks to go, they were left sitting on the counter without being called out. After a long wait, I had to inquire if they were ready, and it turned out they had been sitting there uncovered the whole time. On a positive note, the Chocolate Pistachio Croissant was outstanding--especially when warmed up. It was delicious and saved our visit from being a complete miss. I am a loyal and regular customer at your Long Beach location, and I have truly enjoyed having breakfast there daily for the past two months. I always order the same dish, which includes eggs -- and I specifically request that they be cooked well done or medium-well, as I am currently pregnant and need to ensure my food is safe. Most days, my order is prepared perfectly, and I deeply appreciate the consistency and quality of service. However, I've noticed a recurring issue on the days when either of the manager named or is Jenna. On those days, my eggs are not cooked as requested, and when I try to kindly bring it to their attention, I am met with unprofessional behavior. They often speak to me with a visibly upset or angry expression, avoid eye contact, and respond in a dismissive and disrespectful manner -- which does not reflect the level of service I have come to expect from Urth Caffé. During our visit, we ordered desserts and drinks. However, when I took my six-year-old daughter to the restroom, we were appalled by its condition. There was fecal matter splattered on the wall behind the toilet, near the toilet liners. The floor was flooded with water, the sink was covered with dirty used napkins, and the toilet paper was soaked and out of the dispenser. The restroom was in an extremely unsanitary state, to the point that my daughter refused to use it. My husband immediately notified the management, yet nothing was done. Twenty minutes later, the restroom remained in the same deplorable condition. Shortly after, my seven-year-old son attempted to use the other restroom but found it in an even worse state. He was so uncomfortable that he asked if he could relieve himself outside instead. We reported the issue once again, but no action was taken. This level of negligence is completely unacceptable. The lack of basic cleanliness and prompt response raises serious concerns about the overall hygiene of the establishment, including the food preparation areas. Literally the worst experience in every way. I'm not one of the Lagunatics that's against franchises joining our community, in fact I'm open to new experiences and people who could bring something different- I'm a millennial. I am so astonished by their team of employees who are awful to deal with, they are short with everyone and their tone reflects their frustration. There will be a line wrapped around the corner and they won't open the second coffee bar to expedite people who may not be ordering food or even take more orders. It's obvious to me that they are not willing to pay more people to work in order to accommodate the long waits and therefore EVERYONE is stressed. They do not offer wifi and told their staff to say that they "encourage communication between people rather than using devices," but we all know that's a cop-out to get people to eat quicker and not hang around. Perpetuating the idea that they are there to make money with no regard for their clients. If you're looking for good food, no wait and an outdoor feel I'd recommend Zinc Cafe and avoid the crappy service, mediocre food and certainly the wait times. read more

This establishment should be sued. I watched how Muslims were treated. The rules state if there are NO empty tables and you have been there more then 30 minutes you should leave. The staff sent the police over to a table with women in a head scarf telling them to leave. There was an Abundance of tables. These patrons were quiet. No shouting. Children well behaved. I cannot express how appalled I am at the level of racism and bigotry shown by the staff at this establishment. I urge everyone whether Muslim or not to boycott this place. Send a clear message discrimination is not something to be tolerated. I do not care what religion one prescribes to. Chances are there are people out there who would mistreat you therefore refusing to stand in unison with our fellow citizens permits bigotry to win. Shame on Urth Cafe. read more

Let me start off by saying that the location, atmosphere, and food is fantastic. The reason I'm only giving it 2 stars is due to the customer service. I had my grandmother sit at one of the tables so I could stand in line and order for her and she was told by someone working there that she could not sit at a table without having a number and having ordered. this is ridiculous and rude to tell an elderly lady to get up and stand until shes ordered! The second issue was on several occasions that I have been there, the food takes forever to get to you and every time I've gone with others their food doesn't come together and by the time it does, then someones food is always cold. This is very poor customer service and when they are told, their attitude is very unresponsive and poor. read more

The food is very good and with very unique twists and their coffee was outstanding. At first this restaurant was going to end up as one of those 'It was good but not sure if I would really come back' type of restaurants. The price is a little high but well worth it. But the mood towards the restaurant changed after we met a wonderful man, David. Each time we stopped him he was unbelievably kind and helpful. He made us feel as though he genuinely wanted to make our visit memorable. He had a warming smile even though we kept asking him for help with things. The Laguna location staff is friendly as long as everything is simple, goes smoothly and you don't ask them to do anything besides pay for your food and have them bring it to you. The restaurant isn't ran as well as their West Hollywood location. For example, I wouldn't ask them to get you more salad dressing or call to have them put a baked good aside for you. I know these things are easy but they can't seem to handle it. The manager I spoke to was nice but desperately lacked customer service skills. It's too bad because it is a beautiful location and they should be honored to have it. Many other great restaurants like Le Pain Quotidien would love to be here. We'll see....I have hope. read more

First time coming here after a long day at the beach. I was very excited to try the food and drinks here as they're very hyped up. It did take about 15 min for our food to arrive. I ordered the chicken pesto panini which was good but not that great. It tasted like any other panini sandwich I've eaten. I ordered the green tea boba, which they messed up on and gave me a completely different drink. I had to wait another 10 minutes for my drink to arrive and had already finished my panini. The green tea boba was pretty good! I wished it would've arrived with my meal. Location is pretty packed and parking was tight. I used to love this place. Went yesterday spent 22 bucks on drinks and after leaving decent tip the coffee was like warm matcha was not even ceremonial grade matcha. Went to ask if they could replace the coffee bc it's not hot she said it's warm I'm like yes and my matcha is hot that's how my friend likes her coffee she grunted and grabbed coffe threw it in trash and re made it. Drinks mediocre. Price ridiculous and jedidah right down street had much better matcha and pistachio milk. Muck nicer service. If you're just going for drinks I don't recommend it here. Heard great things about this place so I thought I would try it out. No one was in line and it took 30 minutes to seat us. And yes there were many empty tables. When we finally sat down we noticed food and grease on the table and politely asked for it to be cleaned. The host just looked at us funny and said ok. 10 minutes later still dirty. We decided to move ourselves to another table but we're quickly stoped by the TABLE SWITCHING POLICE. The food was bland and lacked basic seasoning. I really enjoy Urth Caffe. I have eaten there several times and every dish I've had has been excellent. Their coffee and tea drinks are delicious and beautifully presented. The outdoor dining across from the beach is very pleasant. My only complaint is the ordering set up. You have to stand usually in pretty long line to get to the counter to order and then try to find somewhere to sit in the usually crowded restaurant. I've waited in line for up to 30 minutes on a busy summer day. I wish they had a better system to order and be seated, without making it a full service restaurant. But the food and drinks are always great so four stars. read more

Urth Café is a chill spot with great food, a welcoming ambience, and well-crafted drinks. We ordered the egg sandwich, avocado toast, and the Eggs Benedict Canyon--each dish was delicious and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. There were plenty of tables, so finding a seat was easy, and the overall atmosphere was warm and inviting. That said, the food was a bit messy to eat, which made it slightly challenging, and our drinks took longer than expected to arrive. However, once they did, they were well worth the wait. eeek is right yelp. this place really only deserves a 1 star rating! i went here over the weekend for breakfest after being at the beach with my fiancé and oh boy do i wish we didn't stop. the food here is alright but what really got to me was the NASTY service. the staff here is ridiculously RUDE! Dont get into the service industry if you ant a people person and don't know how to talk to people or take orders without an attitude! the waitress is stuck up and when we complained to the manager he didn't do anything about it. i dont recommend eating here because they will RUIN YOUR DAY! never again. read more

I have always wanted to try out Urth Caffe since a couple years back. Every time I would drive by the place, the caffe was filed with people and the longs would wind around the building. Therefore, the food has to be amazing here. I had the corn pancakes and the veggie omelet. The corn pancakes were a new experience, considering I NEVER make my pancakes with corn. They're initially good, but will take some time for my taste buds to get used to the taste. However, the omelet was extremely bland and the veggies were soggy. I will not be getting the veggie omelet the next time I go. read more
