I called the general USPS # to track a package and was told the package was sent to Elmonte post office in error rather than La Verne and will be re routed. They had me call LA Verne post office and somebody picked up phone right away and helped. I then called Elmonte about 20 times within 15mins period before anyone answered the phone. The woman who picked up the phone put me on hold for an hour, so while on hold I call from another phone and after a couple of tries a guy picks up and helps me locate my package within minutes. Whoever that lady is who put me on hold for over an hour is probably one of the people giving this post office bad reviews and bad customer service. read more

This place really isn't that great. I have gone to many, many, post office's in my day to day routines for this or that. I usually expect a 3 star experience from all of them, but this place really failed to deliver. They have a "package" line where you can pick up things that were not left at your home due to a signature requirement--but half the time no one is there to help you! The lines have always been HORRENDOUS as well--over a 30 minute wait to be seen! This is the post office I always go to. Most of the workers at the front area extremely nice. I hate to say this, but there is one lady that can sometimes be a little rude. I would not recommend going on Saturday mornings because it gets very crowded. They do NEED to get a stamp machine in the lobby area. They don't have one, which means you have to wait in line to get a book of stamps. Good thing you usually buy stamps a grocery stores! read more

I went in around 2:30 PM - 3:00 PM and there was a line but it disappeared fast! I was in front of the line in a minute. The contents in which I wished to deliver were in no condition to ship either. I picked out a box upon arrival and soon found out it costs way too much for what I was shipping and the staff there helped me picked out the right box and gave me the materials needed to ship my stuff. They genuinely care for their customers. I kept insisting I'd pay the extra but at the end the employee saved me a lot of money. I took some time packing up my stuff and sent it on its way. Very helpful and caring staff. They are a great team as well since you hear them joke around a lot. I would highly recommend this USPS. read more

Most employees in the office are lazy and Rude. I Hate coming to this office they have the worst customer service ever! I received a note telling me I had to go pick up a package so I went and tried to pick up my package And the Asian or vietnamese lady had no idea what she was doing she told me it was just a confirmation note seemed like she just wanted to end it and was to lazy to help or give more information turns out I did have a package waiting for me and they had to Shipp it back since I never went to pick it up. Apparently the workers need to get trained better and have better customer service. I really don't understand this place, every post office I've ever been to, they allow you to drop off your packages at the counter. This place makes you wait in line to drop off packages for some odd reason, but my problem is the lines are already long as is when they did allow package drop offs, now they are just making the lines even longer but not allowing package drop offs. Actually impressed out of almost a hundred visit. In and out in less than two minutes. There was an employee asking people in line the nature of their visit. I was 5-7th in line and they took my prepaid package and gave me a receipt. They are stepping up with all things considered. I normally never review until exceptional or beyond terrible. read more

I went there at 12 noon to pick up the package for my husband but the guy told me that it wasn't there and it needs a tracking number I told him if he can check for the barcode and he said he already checked it wasn't there so I went home hoping to catch up for the mailman but she left already. Called my husband to send me the tracking number and went back to post office then I told the guy here is the tracking number he said it's not their tracking number I told them what do you mean it's not their tracking number then the lady butt in telling me too it's not their tracking and I told her why did your mailman left this message to pickup my package if it wasn't there. She keep on insisting that it's not their tracking number. I told her let me talk to the manager and she claimed she is the manager what a stupid manager who cannot help their customers while the other guy went back inside to look for it and he found it. So I told the guy it's in there he just didn't look for it and the lady manager threatened me that she is going to give me a hard time next time I have a mail or package. They simply need to do better. One time I went in with my pink slip to pick up my package. The lady told me she couldn't find it from the back, sent me to customer service n had me waited for half an hour. Turned out my package was in the back the whole time. I'm really glad to have a local post office! Sending and picking up packages is very easy for me to do so at this location. Most of the staff are friendly and are able to show you the costs of different rates for you to make a decision about the speed of your shipping. Even though standard shipping says it takes 7-15 business days, it usually is only about a week or so! I like that when I'm not home, they leave a notice in my mailbox for me to pick up my package at the office. This ensures the safety of my package. The only thing I don't like is that they don't check ID when you bring the slip in so if that slip was given to the wrong person, that person could end up with your package! This post office is usually very busy at the end of the day towards closing since that's when people get off work and make it there. I also appreciate that there's a drive through for you to drop off mail into those blue boxes. It's very convenient and accessible! read more

This post office is not helpful at all. I tracked my package the whole time is was in transit. And when it said that it was delivered in my mailbox at said time, I DID NOT actually receive it. I gave it a few days and nothing. So I called and filed a claim and they called me back 3 days later. When I called back, the representative I talked to wasn't there and everyone was treating me like I was stupid. Including their tone. I told the representative that answered that I'm calling back concerning a package I didn't receive and she directs me to the supervisor. This guy was not helpful at all. I gave him my tracking number and all he could tell me was that it says "delivered at mailbox". Obviously I know that it says that. And if I did have the package I wouldn't be calling asking about it. And then this guy tells me "it's rare to make mistakes." They could not tell me anything about my package. Not even say sorry for the inconvenience or that they'll try to help me out, acting like its my fault that it didn't get delivered. Horrible customer service. Wont even answer a question about which form to use. They make you get in line just to ask which form to use. One of the guys working there told a customer he didnt speak mandarin before the customer was able to explain his question. Didnt even know mail men had the ability to read minds and know what language customers speaks before the customer even speaks. Yes the customer had an accent but i was able to understand him and im hispanic. The lady at the counter made me pay with my debit/ credit card for $1.69 because she didnt have change for a $20. She didn't even try to get change from somewhere else. I told her i really didn't want to use my card for an amount of less than $2. If i really didn't have mail out by today i wouldn't have done it. I frequent this place a lot. I don't have any complaints over the staff, as they've all been very helpful and kind to me on pretty much every occasion. I do wish that there was a self service kiosk!!!! Also, I wish there was a drop off for online/prepaid postage packages because waiting in line sometimes is the pits. I paid for a personal delivery of a package to a completely detailed address at El Monte. They say that it has been delivered in the mail box!! But "Nothing at all was in the mail box" and we wait for 4 days up to now. Okay the driver is new and tries to deliver mail to incorrect address. First he parks in a coned off spot..ran over the cone to park there. Then he takes off with my cone lodged under his vehicle. This is probably the worst post office! There is always a long waiting time, the staff works extremely slow here. I came in to pick up a package, there was only three people in front of me. I have been waiting for 3 weeks going on 4 just to get my lock changed out!!!! This is my 7th time coming back to get my dang key!!!! The staff is nice but the team is so unorganized here. First a clerk tells me it's not ready then the clerk says we can't find your paper work then the Manager Rosie said they have been busy. Which one is it!!!!! I went in on Saturday and Rosie told me she was sorry and that she would have it done on Monday. It's Tuesday today and guess what, I'm stuck here waiting to see what the Manager Connie is going to do about my problem. I get that they are busy but it takes 10 minutes to change out a lock so they either need to fire their 3rd party Contractor or find a solution of fixing this delayed issue they have. Business owner and resident in el monte for over 40 years. In the last 2 years we only receive 90% of our mail. At my business location they just decided to replace our standing mailbox for the entire complex with no advanced notice and not provide us with any keys for two weeks. I just called el monte post office on valley blvd to find out whats going on and when I will be receiving my keys. Very bad customer service along with a very bad attitude. Wish there was a negative rating on Yelp....They have incompetent people working for USPS. For days, I've been waiting for my children's medication from Kaiser. Today I just so happen to see that one of my sons package was in the next door neighbors mail slot. I've been expecting these medications all week. I still have yet to get my other son's medication. This has happened several times where my mail has been misdelivered and put into the next doors neighbors house. These packages are sensitive due to the nature of the need for them. It only delays medical treatment for my sons. Get a grip on your employees and hire competent people who can do the job. The ones on this route are just really dumb. I have had issues for years now with lost, misplaced, or even damaged goods from the USPS. I will contact Kaiser with this issue as well and hope that they would find another alternative to handle their mailing needs other than USPS. Clearly USPS can't seem to get the job done. How poorly has services been rendered to the general public. What a damn shame. I'm disappointed to have to revert to using other reliable source of mailing needs. Just horrible. read more
