If there is a zero star rating, that's what I would select. I've been to 4 different post offices this month. I've never been treated as poorly as I have at the La Verne post office. Envelopes I have sent in large quantities at other post offices went just fine with the postage I applied. This post office insisted all the other post offices were wrong and charged me more postage for all my envelopes. When I tried to explain how other post offices determined if I applied the correct postage with a thing that measures thickness of the envelope, the man behind the counter took my envelopes and said he would take them and just mail them back to me. When I asked to speak with a manager, he was equally as rude. I asked for flat rate priority mail envelopes because I didn't see any in the lobby area, and I was staring at a stack behind the counter, and the manager told me he didn't have any and pointed to where they were in the lobby (hiding behind where a woman was standing, at a counter, not with the other priority mail supplies. When I told the manager I could clearly see a stack of them behind the counter, could he just hand me some, he still insisted he didn't have any. And then said, "what's the difference?" This is truly a disgusting representation of government employees. I'd suggest training customer service staff on how to actually interact with customers. If you are not a people person, you should not be working in an industry requiring you to interact with people. I will NEVER return to this location again. read more

The counter staff are very nice and helpful, but I'm docking two stars for the passport office lady. I was 7 minutes late for my 12:45 appointment (for my infant... Who gets anywhere on time with an infant?). The lady with the 1:00 appt was actually waiting but the door was closed and locked (front office staff saw us waiting... So maybe I take back my comment about being helpful). Passport lady shows up at 1:04, takes the 1:00 appt as she should, comes back out at 1:24 to take the 1:30 appt and tells me very rudely we were 20 minutes late. They called me asking for a tracking number because they received a claim I opened with usps.com about my package being routed back to sender (the fact that their own system doesn't pass La Verne USPS the tracking number to a claim is already stupid). Then they called me and left a message to call back with the tracking #, and the message was more than pleasant. But then I tried calling back 5 minutes later, it rings for two rings and then ends your call. I have tried 25 times in the last hour. I had an amazon package accidentally sent to my former address. I called this post office to see if they could forward it to my new location (500 miles away) in NorCal. The woman who picked up was extremely rude and unhelpful. Highlights of the conversation include "umm... why don't you just pick it up from here then?" and "there's nowhere in this building that stores packages. You should just take it up with Amazon." She also refused to check if any of the packages matched mine, even though my tracking information clearly said it was just sitting in the damn post office. I mean, it's a GIANT BOX with 3 pairs of boots. Seriously, how difficult is it to check for that? I was then told to "hold on" and put on hold indefinitely. This review is for the delivery service, not employees in the office itself: Every time I order a package that is shipped with USPS, they "attempt" delivery, leave a note in the mailbox saying "sorry we missed you", and I have to go to the post office to pick up the package. To make it worse, they seem to only attempt delivery on Saturdays. Because they're closed on Sundays, this means that I cannot pick up a package until the following Monday. My apartment complex has lockers specifically for packages. These lockers are never full and easy for delivery people to access. There is no excuse for not being able to deliver packages. read more

Everyone who works there is nice, friendly, personable and even makes me laugh sometimes! They know their regulars and help everyone quickly through the line. Other than that, I have tried multiple times this week to speak to an actual person via phone because I cannot come in during business hours due to my job. So I need to see if a returned package is sitting there. I've already spoken to someone on the 800 number and they said to call this location DIRECTLY. I have just experienced the WORST service in all my years of going to the post office when I was rudely and insultingly treated as a customer. It was SO bad that I asked to speak to the postmaster, who was not only understanding but polite. I was so rudely treated that another customer whispered her agreement with how rude the postal worker was as she was leaving. Came here trying to return a package back to eBay only to have Norma tell me that the label was incorrect. I drove back home spoke with the seller and eBay only to be told the label is correct. I had to drive to another post office where they didn't have a problem at all. Norma was short and rude and automatically said the return label was incorrect. They have an automated post office kiosk, but they no longer leave their lobby open, and there's nothing posted saying that they're doing this or why. I hoped they had changed since the beginning of the pandemic but nope, I'm stuck without postage unless I go between 8 and 5, which I can't right now. So I manage an apartment and our usual mail carrier is fantastic, but she is out on leave. The incompetent replacement not only mixes up my tenants mail but 4 times has left the mail box unlocked leaving 16 tenants mail open for theft. Today was the 4th time so at 6:30am I had the police here because last night a tenants replacement debit card was stolen and used So I stand outside freezing my ass off with no breakfast for 2 hours trying to get a contact number so someone can come lock it. I finally get a number and talk to some one who tells me they will send someone to lock it. 2 and a half hours later I call back because no one shows and yes I was pissed understandably. I told her I can unbolt the damn box and bring it down if that will get them to lock it, and she hangs up on me. So yea I called back and I'm sure I was over the top pissed and I went off. Then she threatens to call the police on me. Call the cops on me???? WTF I'm the only one worried about securing the mail. So I called back and was mellower just to get them to come lock it, and try to not catch a charge lol. Sad when you're worried about protecting people's mail and personal information more then the postal service and you are threatened with police action. This is why the postal service is failing because of government employees that don't give a shit. Next time I guess I won't give a damn if our wonderful postal workers don't, because I'm not going to stand out there for 5 hours again guarding people's mail just to be threatened!! read more

The staff offers minimal service. They aren't very knowledgeable about what services are available online either. I ordered a "free military kit" online in December and never received it. so, a couple of weeks ago, I decided to go into the post office. I asked about military shipping kits (offered online) and the staff was confused and didn't know what I was talking about. I was told to grab a box from the wall and told to grab a customs form. I've been here on several occasions. I love the fact that they have a self-serve postal machine. It's great, because if you go when the main office is closed, at least you can still get proper postage for packages, etc. The staff is usually friendly. I've never had any problems. They do offer passport services. So if you need to get a passport for the first time or need to get updated pictures you can do that here. It's sort of a one stop shop. I came here the other day to renew my passport with my new married name. I was cutting it close timewise. My existing passport had just been issued last year. Well, I was getting very close to the one year deadline to make any corrections or name changes for free. Fortunately the marriage certificate came prior to the deadline, but I was in a mad rush to get the paperwork done and in the mail. So during lunch the other day, I set off on my journey to get this done. When I arrived, the person was at lunch. She had taken her lunch the same time I had taken mine. Major bummer. I was then sent on a goose chase through part of La Verne to get everything else done. AAA and City Hall were both in there before heading back to the post office to put my application in the mail. I was going to use that handy dandy self serve machine, but there was a sign on it indicating that it wasn't working. Bummer again. I'd have to wait in line now. But the line was short. Thank God!! When all was said and done, I made it back to work with just under 15 minutes to spare to actually eat. This minor inconvenience won't stop me from going here in the future in the least. I use this post office a lot. Even for simple drop off at the boxes. It's a very convenient post office for me. Just an FYI: If you want to get your passport here the hours are 10-4 (but she takes her lunch around 1:00). You can also get your photo here for the application. There are a few fees involved for the Post Office to perform this work, but it's worth it to have the one-stop shop service. You can get the pics done, have the application processed and sent on it's way to DC, all in one stop. You can't beat that. read more

There is a employee by the name of Frank who is continuously rude to customers. I've experienced it personally the last few years and also witnessed how unprofessional he is with other customers. Any thing asked even small requests are brushed off as if you are doing him a disservice by coming in. I tend to try and see another worker to avoid this, but it's difficult depending on your random place in line. I am so repulsed by his continuous poor customer service and behavior that I prefer to go to a different postal office even though this location is near my house. This Post Office should properly address employees such as Frank who view to be problematic with customers. An employee should not only be efficient, but treat those coming in with decency. read more

I was a little concerned with the low star rating and some of the reviews. But being that it's so close to a job I'm doing I stopped in to get my passport application processed. The Laverne post office is very clean with great atmosphere and friendly people. The gentleman at the counter greeted me asking if I had an appointment, I did not I was a walk-in. He replied not a problem and guided me to the female Clerk who was just as kind perfect lady. She took me right in taking my photo and went through my application informing me and helping with some corrections. The gentleman Clerk heard I was applying to go fishing and we had a nice conversation of some past fishing trips. All in all less than 20 minutes in and out . AWFUL!!! This place is a joke! I put in for a priority mail forward service and the mailman kept delivering my mail to my apt. I had to call every single day and finally they figured out what the problem was. They got my mail together and sent it to me in the other state I was in. I was waiting for very very time sensitive paperwork. I then was supposed to get another bundle of mail which again, was being delivered to my apartment. I was heading home and told them to just hold it so before even coming home after traveling all day I had to stop at the post office to pick up my mail. I paid 40.00 for this service and have been trying to get a refund and NO ONE is calling me back. I have emailed so many times and they manager at the LaVerne office has called me once and that was it. I try calling and the phone just rings and he refuses to respond to my email. Extremely awful. They do not scan your packages, so don't expect them to know where things are when you ship through them. They also do not actually pick-up when you schedule a pick-up and simply just say they did it. They also do not pick-up the phone. The times they do pick-up, they are rude and you have to call at least 5 times before they pick-up. Rude when you drop off in person too. Tracking number of a registered mail shows that my mail was in this La Verne location. Got there and there was about a dozen people in line with two employees working at the front desk. When it was my turn to be helped, the lady took my tracking number and informed me that she was not able to find my mail and told me to go to the Claremont post office since my address is in Claremont. I got to the Claremont post office and a guy named Ray told me that the tracking indicates that my mail is in La Verne. When I told him that I was just in La Verne and was told to go to Claremont location, he said "Well sometimes that's just their way of trying to move you out of the way when there's a long line." So I drove back to the La Verne location and a guy named Frank helped me. He said he was going to ask the driver in the morning to ask him where my mail was and that he was going to give me a call. The following day, i still have not received that call by 1 pm. I drove to the post office again and stood in line. Two employees were at the front desk and when a guy named Charlie helped me, he said that Frank was on break and he told me to wait for him if I wanted to because he didn't know the whole story. So I stood to the side while waiting for Frank. I went to him as soon as I saw him and he told me that the driver was on vacation and wasn't answering his phone. I asked him when the driver was going to be back from vacation and he shrugged and said "next week?", like he is not even sure. Is it unrealistic these days to expect a little professionalism from people in public service? read more

This is the second time iv gone to this post office..the clerk at the desk is so rude to all the customers while I waited in line.this older lady approached him with a package to be delivered she told him she could not hear very well and he yelled at her to stand behind the cart so she wouldn't touch the window. She did not respond to him but she did stand behind the window and he told her if you don't like my rules you can go somewhere else the UPS is just down the street. I attended Claremont on Harvard/2nd street, only to be told it is in La Verne. When I drove to that location, I spoke with John who searched for my $85 package and nowhere to be found. He said he would check with the carrier who attempted to deliver it and get back to me. One week later, no call, so I went back and spoke with Jeff. He told me the same thing. It pays to be friends with the employees. When your reasonable and nice to them, they make sure the job is done right. Knowing them for quite some time, my advice is to you people, don't be so demanding and don't blame the employees for any mailing troubles because I see that a lot, they are not in charge of that. The shippers are in charge of mail troubles such as delays. So be nice and create a relationship with the employees. I don't know about the short asian lady though, she's a very quiet person...haha but who am I to judge, I'm pretty sure she's nice too. read more
