I send a parcel to India 26th Feb, 2021 and chose Priority Mail Express option to deliver the item with 3-5 days. I paid $70 bucks for that and it's been 11 days my package is not delivered. Their tracking number does not show any progress after 4th March. Upon checking with supervisor on 8th March, 2021 he said it has to be delivered but no idea why not delivered. He does not even bother to further query the vendor and help me. So the takeaway message was they dont care. Worst service I have ever experienced so far. This is a review of the passport service at the Pleasanton post office. I tried twice to get my passport renewed there, and then gave up. I got there the first time at 10AM on a Saturday, which is when the office opens. There were at least 20 people in the line before me, and I waited. And waited. At about noon, maybe four or five people had gone through, so I walked up to talk to the postal worker to see if it made sense for me to stay or not. She wouldn't even talk to me. About an hour later, after no discernible movement in the line, she came out and told most of us that she wouldn't be able to get to us that day. She asked us to come back during the week, which of course, I couldn't. I asked about appointments, and she said that they don't do that. The next weekend, I came back, this time at 8:30AM. The line was even longer, if that could be believed! A postal worker came by at a little before 10, and asked about half of us to leave and come back another day. There is no way I could get a passport there, clearly. The first person in line had been there since 6AM! The workers seemed nice, just completely overwhelmed. I ended up paying $$$ to a passport service so that I didn't have to go through that again. read more

At first many of the people here seemed to be quite stand-offish and rude but as went more and morethey seemed to et to know me and I them and they're actually really nice now. I kept going to get stamps for mailing things for my wedding and then back to actually mail things, weighing things, sending certified, Christmas related mail and all that good stuff and it was a better experience each time I went. A little crowded and backed up during the holidays but I'm sure many post offices are the same way with it being the busy time of year for them. This is for the passport services only. These folks have the process managed and organized very well. I arrived at 7am and was put on the list. I was #5. The clerk gave me a checklist and told me to make sure I had all my documents together. She said to go home and come back at 9. I arrived at 9 like she said and they got us in line based on our number on the list. If people are ahead of you with multiple applications to process such as families or if they forget documents that is going to be the hold up. I had all my copies, pictures and checks written out and I was in and out in 5 minutes when it was my turn! As long as you are well organized prior and get there early to get a place on the list this facility is pretty hassle free. read more

If you require passport services, DO NOT go to the Pleasanton at this location. According to the website, they are one of the few that accept walk-ins starting at 9:30am. I arrive at 9:00am, only to be turned away because you have to show up at 4am to get on a list to be seen that day! WTH!! I take my chances and go to the post office in the Alamo Plaza that also accepts walk-ins and was in and out wirhin 30 min! Don't waste your time here!!! I keep getting notices that my PO Box is overstuffed and that I need to come in to the post office to resolve it. I have had this box for 15+ years and have never had any issues. I am there every day or worst case every few days. Once in a great while it might be a week where it might have a lot of mail. However, nothing like the letter was saying. In either case every time I go to this post office the PO BOx person, Thelma, is not there or available. At least 5 times I tried to meet with her and I'm told she is the only person that can deal with this. Phone calls are not even a possibility. On July 22 I spoke with a Supervisor there Gloria who explained to me AGAIN that Thelma was not there. I explained my situation and she said she would leave a note for Thelma to call me and not to worry about the letter saying my box would be closed. Two days later I get by e-mail a letter saying my PO Box is going to be closed. I go to the post office and am furious. AGAIN Thelma is not there. I demand to speak with Gloria and she says there is nothing she can do and I just have to "trust her" that nothing will happen with my PO Box. To say she is a "supervisor" is a joke. That is absolutely ridiculous!!! I cannot afford to have my PO Box just closed based on her word and no one available to discuss this with me. Also in general the attitude of most of the people that work there is horrible. Typical government workers that know they have relatively safe jobs so they don't have to really worry about your problems. read more

Very chaotic...theres a person that walks up and down the line to answer questions but the answers are not consistent and correct. If you need a passport, come in early m-f. They're open for passport at 9:30 am but the line starts around 7:30am-8. If there are more than 20, they will cut off the line. Make sure you bring a check or money order, they will not accept cash or credit cards. You can purchase the money order here but only with an ATM card. Make copies of CDL , birth certificates, & what ever else documents you think you will need before coming in. There are no copiers here. Total time spent here :8am - 11am. Good luck. read more

This post office is a totally disaster! They do things like they still in 1980. for you get a passport, you need to sleep in the floor outside the office ! They don't do appointments online . I seen people families with kids camping since the night before just to get a passport ! I don't think this is right ! And even do the process only take 10 to 15 min they only take 20 people at day ??? .. talking about hard working ! ... Unfortunately the customer service at this location continues to decline steadily for the past 10 years. It used to be a friendly, top-notch institution but not anymore. First off the language barrier existing between the counter workers and the customers is grossly unproductive for business. Yes I understand that the government hires many non-native English speakers. The result is that you have not only a language barrier but also a cultural barrier. Most of the counter workers don't understand that they are working for the public and should treat them with respect. Often the exchange of conversation is just plain sad. While the customer is trying to explain something or ask for help, the USPS employee just gets frustrated and curt - because it's evident that person doesn't understand the question. Today, for example, I was in line when I suddenly heard a female raise her voice and sound like a teenager speaking to a middle-aged Asian woman who was having difficulty getting her English out.to the satisfaction of the worker, who looked half Asian or Vietnamese. Regardless of their races, the language barrier and the terrible customer service became a public nuisance. The USPS worker was smirking, rolling her eyes, and periodically raising her voice-not so the Asian woman could hear better but apparently to embarass her. This loud tongue lashing lasted at least 4-5 minutes. When the exchange ended, with the Asian woman saying, "Thank you." to the USPS woman, the worker just stared at her as she walked away. I can't believe that the manager was not around to witness this horrible service. Some of us in line just nodded our heads in disbelief. I talked briefly to my counter worker about whether this type of service is really necessary, and he just said, "Oh well, what ya gonna do." I'm sure he's heard "Jennifer" (the loud-mouth USPS employee) raise her voice to lots of customers. His response was more c'est la vie than one of concern. Notice to Post Office: PLEASE SEND YOUR EMPLOYEES TO CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING! THEY DON'T KNOW THAT THERE ARE SIMPLE METHODS THAT CAN BE APPLIED TO SCENARIOS-SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO DISTURB EVERY CUSTOMER IN LINE. Woo! this place sucks just because of one guy. I was here several times sicne this is the only post office I know in Pleasanton. Usually I would get the service from the other people but the last 3-4 times that I was here, I happen to have this asian guy with the glass, his name stars with something "Elmer" or something. At first, I went in with my baby and the little puppy, on the bagpack that was carried on his chest. When this ELMER saw him and thye puppy, he was like "I'm not going to give you service with that dog in here" . Then we just giggle a little since we thought he was just kidding with us. But he was serious and asked us to leave. I was like... "WHAT?" The next time I went there, I was a little in need of the tape, only little bit to just seal some part up. I asked him if he has any, and he was like "well, we don't have the clear type you could use and if you are going to use the lowest rate, I have no tape for you. But if you are going to post by priority, then I have the priority tape for you". Then I look at the counter and saw the tape, whole role of the half inch clear tape there, so I asked if I could have a little and he repeat the same andwer to me and refused to have me use it." I left without sending anything." At this part, I know he try to up sale but since I'm going to be sending something to someone with limited budget in my hand, he still resist to make me go for the higher price for just a small little thing and make me waste my trip. WHAT A SERVICE. Next day I went back and I got him again, and he was like" Oh! you are back, and you got the tape, So which one you want. Regular or priority." I was so dam pissed at this point, he remembered everything but still act the same way. And the attitude... oh my god, was not something accceptable. Well, I still have no idea of why this man still works here. Maybe the manager there sees him as the best in service or maybe he's the freaking manager himself. A long-time worker here, Rita, makes this destination a dreaded one for me. I suspect I am not alone in that opinion as I've seen people let others go ahead of them in line to avoid having to deal with Rita. She is snippy and unhelpful. She spends more time chastising than offering any actual assistance. Yesterday, we brought in 40 invitations to mail. They had been printed on paper that had a ribbon on it, which necessitated that each envelope be hand-cancelled. Rita sold us the 22 cent stamps that had to be added to the forever stamps on each envelope to pay for the required hand-cancelling. We went home to apply the extra stamps to each envelope. When we returned to mail the envelopes, we got Rita after waiting in line again. She told us to drop the envelopes in the outgoing mail box. We said, "Don't they need to be hand-cancelled?" She said, "Just put them in the outgoing mail box." On our way out, we talked with a different postal worker to tell her what we had been told to do. She said, "Those have to be hand-cancelled, not dropped in the slot! That defeats the whole purpose of the extra postage if you drop it in there." read more

i really hope something can be done at this Post Office. I have yet to experience a normal customer service. It looks like all the troubles come from the main supervisor Gloria C. Poor communication skills are evident. Passport hours are not helpful, especially if you have a child that needs to apply for passport, as the school ends at 2.50pm, and by the time you get to the post office at 3pm, US postal workers would not accept the application even though the official hours are till 3.30pm. You cannot make an appointment, and there is no service on Saturday. read more

This office is terrible. Most of the clerks are extremely bad. They try to find any flaw with your package so they can refuse to take it. There's a chubby Asian women with a pony tail who did that to me twice. Once she said my printed shipping label one day late. I have shipped many packages with labels that are a day's late with other offices. Another time she said I used a Priority box to ship an Express package which I have taped up with Express Mail tape. I couldn't believe she looked so carefully to catch that, which I can't believe is even a problem, she just made up her rules. Again that's never been a problem with other offices. i have been using this post office for over 30 years and i think it's one of the best. sure the lines can get long and tensions get high but i have had great service and i'm usually able to get in and out on time. this place even makes me feel so special as a netflix user since they have a drop box especially for movies. this is so great and fast because i returned a movie late last night and just got an email from netflix this morning saying that my next movie is on the way. there are two post office locations in pleasanton but i always find myself going out of my way to use this one. read more

When they opened around 8:45 ..got to know that in recent weeks ...at the max 4 or 5 in queue at any time of the day.... Process was smooth and quick ( as long as you have all the documents and filled up DS-11 ready). So if you are planning in next few weeks ... can come during regular hours ...expect to spend max. 30 -40 minutes if already 3-4 ppl ahead of you... otherwise should be done in 10 -15 mintues... read more

During the holiday rush, these folks are typically very helpful, however, on 2 different occasions in the past year, we have had packages that we prepaid shipping and dropped in the shipping box either lost or stolen. I lost a package that I ordered from Etsy.com. I personally went to the Post Office to find out what happened to it. I saw the manager Philip three times about it. First two times he assured that someone will call me the very next day. None called. The last time, the mgr conveyed through someone else that the mailman checked the mailbox himself and told him that he was staring at the package. So far my experience with all other USPS offices have been very positive except for this one. This is the second package I lost. This office seems to be full of corrupt people. They have zero accountability. They do not care about their customers and never pick up phone calls. The negative reviews here are very true. I ordered something from Amazon Prime yesterday, specified overnight delivery - the Amazon tracking site says it will be delivered by 8 pm today, and the USPS tracking site says TUESDAY, JANUARY 17 - I called customer service at Amazon, and they were unable to do anything for me because the USPS office is closed for the day - these jackasses at USPS didn't let Amazon - or ME, the CUSTOMER - know there would be a delay in delivering my package. Went there for passport application for my kids. The website shows the close hour for passport application is 3:30PM. We arrived there around 2:30PM, we thought there would be enough time. But we were wrong! They told us they won't accept any new applications any more because each application take around 15min and there were already 5 people in front of us. A really busy post office, chaotic line together with the passport application office open. Not all the counter staff are helpful. But, if you are lucky enough to be attended by the Post Office master - Gloria, all these frustration would be gone. So, the mail carrier goes on vacation and you don't replace him?! Apparently not. I've been told on more than a few occasions that when our regular carrier goes on vacation or works "for the union" (ie instead of delivering our mail), other carriers are required to fill in for him. What happens is, our delivery area gets whatever time a carrier has left of his schedule to bring us something stuffed into our box. I say "something" because many times we get folded pieces of 3rd class fliers or circulars, addressed to no one in particular, as some sort of consolation prize, instead of our own personal mail. And, what's even more annoying, is that it more often than not comes late in the afternoon, sometimes not until dinner time. This is ridiculous and unacceptable. When I have complained about this to the manager at the Black Street Post Office, I am greeted with the standard "I'm sorry Mrs. fill-in-the-blank if this has caused you any inconvenience. There shouldn't be any interruption to your service. The carriers are supposed to be done with their routes by 5. blah blah blah." When I told our regular carrier about this, he smiled a broad smile and nodded, knowing full well about the free-flowing lip service dished up at the this P.O. He confided that in order for anything to change I have to go way beyond the powers that be in Pleasanton. Lovely. read more

I visited the Pleasanton Postal office to get my passport. I walked in and was helped toward the passport line and was shocked that we were the second people in line. We didn't arrive until 10:16 so we thought we for sure were going to have to wait, but it must have been a slow day. We waited 5 minutes until Rachel led us into the passport room! I brought my check book, my birth certificate, proof of travel, passport photos, and my application I printed from online! Rachel was very quick and helpful as well as polite.
