I went to USA Auto for an oil change, knowing that I needed to either buy a new engine or get a new vehicle. My vehicle has 249,000 miles on it and was spitting coolant, so they sealed the leaks, installed a new water pump, and seemingly got me back on the road until I decided to buy another engine or a new car. The manager, Debra, is highly knowledgeable, honest, and on top of her game! She found an engine with 23,000 miles on it, including the catalytic converter, at an excellent price! The mechanic, Derek, gave me a ride to Walgreens, and Debra gave me a taco and offered me water during lunch. The entire staff was professional, pleasant, and went above and beyond across the board! Derek also showed me that my recently installed oil pan was leaking because my main mechanic used silicone instead of a gasket. My main mechanic is knowledgeable, but it opened my eyes to how his prices are so low because he goes with the most economical option instead of the best one. My main mechanic gave me a solid price on a new engine, but USA Auto beat him by $ 600.00 and offered more value with additional parts! The next day, I returned to USA Auto Service to have a new radiator installed and found that the gasket had blown. As Derek, who is highly knowledgeable, explained, they sealed up the leaks like they were supposed to, and once they did that, the weakest part went ( the engine). I already had oil in the coolant reservoir and a mess under the hood, so I pushed it to the limit. I was able to drive my car home by pulling over in spurts before it overheated, and it took me forever! I've been to this USA Auto location 3 times before and had a pleasant experience, but the new staff and manager have raised the pleasantness bar even higher. I plan to get a new engine because I love my car and hate having a car note. I will make the permanent switch to USA Auto because my former mechanic, although cheaper, has clearly been cutting corners to keep prices low, and I have already found myself replacing parts that I supposedly had installed by my old mechanic. When I mentioned it to Derek, he said the thermostat he pulled out wasn't new, and I saw with my own eyes that my old mechanic used silicone instead of a gasket on my oil pan, which didn't properly seal it. Derek said he would use silicone for his personal car but never use silicone to seal an oil pan at a business. Located on the corner of Smoke Ranch and Decatur, they offer auto financing, a cool air conditioner, and a clean restroom, unlike your typical mechanic shop. This USA Auto location is easily the best I have been to, and I will make it my home location. I highly recommend this location! read more

The place was clean and quick when I came to smog & I did read the review before I came in. So I prepared to be given a list of things they would find wrong with my car... I can't say that I agree with the tactics of trying to create fear to get my spend more than the car is worth in listing off repairs with calculating cost in your mind without pulling up prices on parts. My dad was a mechanic and there are better ways to approach trying to get someone service. If you're getting smog the place is cool, not sure about the rest but based on the comments I'm not sure about using this place. read more

OK, I just came to get my smog check. I usually come. I've been coming here for years oil change smog check so the smog check is now $26 after tax which is fine. I used to get it for seven dollars when they checked in. They asked me if I wanted my tires rotated. I said that's fine. They said it's free of charge I said, but I need air in my tires. That's what I really want so Ryan comes out the paperwork and tells me that they're all 40 all my tires are 40 and I look at the tires and they still look exactly the same and I'm like you're kidding me so I pull around and Joseph the guy in the picture check them and they were at 17and 19 so if it doesn't look right guys, you just gotta force him to do the right thing I guess that's too bad. Came in for a smog & it failed! Thats ok, I figured it would! They also found that the fuel pump was leaking, $1300 job total plus they would fix what was needed to pass smog! Few days later my car was fixed! The whole process was pretty smooth, Gary greeted us from the beginning and walked us thru til we picked up the car! I was sad I had to pay that much but I truly felt Gary was being honest! Thats really what I was worried about, being I am a woman & know we can be taken advantage of! This place used to be V&V. I had been coming here for years for both of my families vehicles. I say that this was the ONLY place I trusted because they would tell you if something needed to be done or not. They were so trustworthy that when other places insisted you needed work, that if they felt it was needed immediately, if it was just maintenance work and could be done later, or if it was completely unnecessary they would tell you. They did charge higher prices though. But it was worth it when you think about what you save on scams from other places. Now....it's been awhile since I've been back due to finances. But I was near smog test time and I was over for an oil change as well, by two months. I was not aware the business had changed hands and that my favorite place was bought out. The owner was nice, showed concern, indicated how he was a value to the consumer, etc etc. He was funny, but I kinda worried about one thing he said, but happened to ignore it at the time. He said that someone had given him a poor review for a joke he made. While people are vindictive, it's just a strange remark. So they take the car back and about 20 minutes later I'm told that besides the oil change and the smog, they have found $1500 more repair items that need to be done: cracks, oil leak, etc etc etc. He even took me out to see the damage. Now I know that damage on cars does happen, but since the pandemic I have worked from home. I barely drive the vehicle. And last time I had been to V&V, they inspected the car fully because I was going out of town and I don't want to worry. No way would that much damage could be happening. I mention this to the guy, and he tells me that V&V would only do what we ask of them and that they didn't do anything extra. Sh*t talking is not exactly professional. But ok. So I look at this "damage" and I see barely a hairline crack, no oil leak, nor any of the other damage he's talking about. So I tell him no. He tells me I may see the oil leak now that he's changed it out, because it was so thick before (and yes, I did let him talk me into flushing the oil before changing it). That seemed reasonable. So it's now been weeks. No signs of an oil leak. No trouble with my clutch, no trouble with the car shaking due to a crack, etc etc. I'll let you make the conclusion, but i do not feel comfortable with this business. I have been scammed before by multiple mechanic shops, which was why when we found V&V, we talked them up to everyone and tried to give them as much business as possible. July 2024 went to have oil changed period. This was my second time having it changed there, same owner! My car is from the Midwest, where we have all 4 seasons. To make long story short, instead of honoring coupon and changing oil he wanted to charge me for everything but what I went there for!! The owner loves to take advantage of women!!! His prices are outrageous He wanted to charge $1.104.56 for an oil pan. Frt brake pads and rotors $664. Front struts $1.239. He changed the oil a few months earlier said I needed a converter wanted to charge over $2200 I bought a converter had it put on for $125 will never ever go there again!!! Ladies Beware............. Also he deemed my car undriveable, hadn't had a problem before I went there. Got second opinion was told vehicle is safe and they changed the oil. The guy at the counter was nice and polite so I'll give a star for him. read more

Went to this USA AUTO on March 14 where they diagnosed the car and said that they would change the filter that hadn't been changed with the other USA AUTO location in the left you see the filter they showed and on the right you see my filter is non existent even though I paid for the filter to be replaced they didn't do anything. And the Manager kept pushing for Financing even when I didn't want to. I didn't do financing with them thank god but this just goes to show you I had been to 2 different USA AUTO's and they both were terrible. The other location up the road over charged on a K service and didn't do anything. Take your business elsewhere. read more
