Absolutely amazing yakiniku experience -- 10/10 across the board! The quality of the meat was top-tier: tender, flavorful, and beautifully marbled. Everything was super fresh and perfectly seasoned. You can really taste the difference in each cut -- from melt-in-your-mouth wagyu to juicy short ribs. The service was also great -- friendly, attentive, and they explained everything without rushing us. The dipping sauces and side dishes complemented the meats perfectly, especially the takoyaki. This is a review for the basic ($35, non-wagyu) menu only. The food was ok! I found the meats to be pretty tough, but the Ushiya signature cut was tender and yummy. Unfortunately though, that would be the only meat item I'd order at the basic tier. However, what surprised me the most was the sides and appetizers. All of them were fantastic. We tried the roasted eggplant, agedashi tofu, takoyaki, croquette, you name it.... And they were so good! My favorite of that list was the agedashi tofu: crispy, savory, and tender. I'd recommend that and the fried items. But, you're probably not here for AYCE sides. I'd say given the meat quality, I'd give this place a 3.5 (rounded up). Their wagyu menu might be considerably better, but that's an updated review for next time. In regard to wait times, my sister and I walked in on a Saturday and were promptly around 4 pm. I suggest making a reservation or arriving around this time to avoid the crowds as it became very busy shortly after. Service was nice! It was busy but we felt taken care of. read more

Had a great experience for our second time coming here. The first time was during their soft opening and you can really see the improvements that were made. We opted in for the $55pp Premium menu that included all of the wagyu choices. I would highly recommend this menu as the quality of meat was top tier. Some of our favorite cuts: Wagyu sirloin, Wagyu brisket and Wagyu short rib. Service was amazing as well. The food runners were completely on top of it. They were quick to pick up empty plates as well as deliver the food. They showed a lot of efficiency in their work along with being very friendly. The first round of order has to be done with a waiter but after that, it can be order via telephone. First time here, and it was good. Super easy and convenient ordering through a QR code, and servers were super quick to pick up plates that were empty. I didn't even get to put it down and they were already there to pick it up. I know this might sound like a stupid complaint, but I knocked it down one star because some of the cuts were too beefy (hopefully yall know what I mean). Some of the cuts made me very aware that I was eating beef, but it was mainly the leaner cuts. The one with the fat and marbling were delicious. We made a reservation for a party of four so there was minimal waiting when we arrived. The place was already packed for a weeknight dinner. We went with the signature menu and let me say that the service was super quick! Once we placed our order, the food came out within 5 minutes which was impressive compared to other spots I've been to. There were plenty of cuts of meat to choose from but we primarily enjoyed the brisket and thick cut sirloin. The rice/radish paper and lettuce sides added a refreshing touch to the meat. ** Visited on a Sunday evening with a group of 6 with a reservation. Came across this restaurant on social media, and wanted to give it a try! The restaurant is quite spacious, though it was PACKED. The staff is pretty kind, and tend to remind you of the time limit (90 minutes) pretty often. Their ordering system is through a QR code- you are able to put in a new order every 6 minutes! Though we opted for the premium wagyu menu, we had ordered other meats as well as wagyu cuts. The plates came out a little slower than expected, but that's understandable considering how busy they were- I just wished our waiter had told us the different meat cuts when he had brought the plates to the table. There was only 1 grill for the group, and though we made it work, it did get a little crowded quickly and it seemed like the charcoal/ flame underneath was only lit up on one side of the grill. We went with the lowest tier for $35 per person and didn't feel like we missed out on anything. Although the low tier doesn't have wagyu items, the meat is very high quality. The difference is all in the grill. Favorite meats were brisket, beef belly, pork jowl, and squid tentacles. The hot items were decent - the tempura squid was my favorite. The sides were just average. The service is very good and items come out quickly. However they rush you to get you out the door. Even though they allow 90 minutes, this is not eating time of 90 minutes. They want you to pay and leave the table within 90 minutes. They took our last call at the 60 minute mark. There is an ordering time limit (6 minutes - something like that) but you don't notice it when you're cooking, eating and enjoying your company. You're also given a time limit at the table but we came at a slower time so we weren't rushed out. Meats just melted in your mouth. Veggies were fresh and crisp. We were on the waitlist on Yelp so getting in was easy and barely had a wait. Food is delicious ! We got the premium course which included various types of cuts of wagyu. It was fatty and delicious. Been a minute since I've dared to tackle AYCE! The Asian in me would not be satisfied leaving without thinking I got my money's worth... let's just say we waddled out of there. Tip: as of now you can get in line virtually via Yelp. Take advantage of it but also check in when you arrive in person. There is only one round grill per table, so imho it's more efficient if your party is less than 4. There is a time limit for ayce, (unsure exactly how long), but it wasn't an issue at all since we were done way before they gave us a heads up that they won't be accepting more orders after a certain time for our table. There were a few wagyu cuts we couldn't get enough of, but were also getting so full towards the end... suffice to say we were happily stuffed leaving our table. read more

Service was amazing! We showed up around 5pm on a Friday and were pleasantly surprised it wasn't packed. Staff was friendly, quick, and checked in just the right amount--definitely a solid start. We went with the signature menu ($35) to sample the meats. Since it's a Japanese-style spot, I expected smaller portions all around--but some of the marinated meat came out hefty, not at all the delicate "Japanese-style" portions I had in mind. Meanwhile, some of the non-marinated cuts were so tiny they were hard to even grill properly. My main goal was to try a little bit of everything, but because of that big pile of marinated meat, I wasn't really able to do that. The pork stood out as the best of the bunch. Rice leaned more porridge than fluffy, and the miso soup was salty. I get it--it's all-you-can-eat, so quality won't be top tier, but the portion imbalance was odd. That said, the kimchi was pretty good--coming from a Korean, that's saying something. Might have to come back and see if the premium menu lives up to the hype. read more
