Apparently this guy doesn't know how to read, I never once said that I currently work for their competitor "Caliber Collision" I said I did work for them in the past. The reason I wanted to get an estimate from Utopia was because they had cheaper labor rates than the bigger shops that I got other estimates at. So i figured I would give get an estimate from Utopia to help it make it easier for my neighbor to pay. I told my neighbor that I would need the fender blended because my car is in pristine condition, there isn't even a single rock chip in the front bumper. Mercedes Benz of Rocklin has offered to buy my car several times because of the condition it is in and the miles on my car. With my experience painting over the years it is impossible to tint a color and have a perfect but match to the adjacent panel. hints the reason why i wanted the fender blended because I didn't want to see ANY type of different shade of color on my Mercedes Benz. You can be the best painter in the world, and you will never lay the metallic the same as the adjacent panel, the face might look the same but the flop will never be the same shade. IF this was an insurance claim, the insurance would not pay for a blend, but in this case, I told them I was paying cash, so it doesn't matter if i wanted hearts and stars painted on my vehicle, i'm at a body shop requesting to pay for work to be done and they are denying it? I never heard such a thing. If a customer is paying out of pocket and they told me what they wanted done, then i would do it. I find it hilarious that the owners daughter and the owner him self has no idea who they are dealing with, I can run that shop with my eyes closed, Im I-Car Gold and Platinum certified, also certified in welding and aluminum repair. I got certified with PPG back in Spain, and Certified with Akzo Nobel in Los Angeles and Certified with BASF in Germany. I have ran multiple shops and also bought and sold body shops. Everyone in this industry knows who I am including all the reps from Sata, Iwata, PPG, AKZO, and Basf. I've painted Million dollar cars around the world, Porsche 934RS, Koeneggseggs, Lamborghini's, Etc. I had so many job offer's from body shops, paint reps, insurance adjusters and etc but you couldn't pay me enough to work for someone ever again. so i find it funny when someone tries to question my knowledge. The owner said in his comment that I "wanted to collect from the person that damaged his vehicle" I specifically explained to my neighbor that i wanted the fender blended and i explained to him why i wanted to blend it and he said its fine and instructed me to get 6 estimates from any shop and thats what I did. hints the reason why I went to utopia because i wanted to make it cheaper for him to afford. To be honest, I already know Utopia would be the cheapest estimate i would have gotten because of their labor rates compared to other estimates I've gotten, so most likely I would have dropped the vehicle for repair to Utopia and they would have earned my business. The owner also said in his comment that " It seemed like i wanted to just post a negative review" ???? I've got way more important things to do than to waste my time posting negative reviews, as a matter of fact i just posted a negative review on yelp about this business and you can see on my yelp page that i never made a review in my life. This is probably the first time i have ever felt the need to post a review and the reason im doing so is because of the horrible customer service and disrespect I received when i went in to get an estimate. I have already made a review on every website possible, I have posted this situation on my social media sites as well such as, Facebook and Instagram, i have a lot of followers and i have had over 800 likes and over 2k comments and im glad i can get the word out about this business and I also contacted Fox 40 Sacramento, The Good morning Show, KCRA 3, ABC News, Sacramento Bee, and The Sacramento Metropolitan chamber of commerce. As you can see in my long responses and reviews that im am taking the time out my day because i am highly frustrated and the amount of disrespect and customer service I received. These guys are GREAT!!!! I had someone run into my passenger side door of my Dodge Ram and through their insurance I ended up at Utopia and it's the best thing that could have ever happened. The service is top notch. First, if you're lucky enough you'll be greeted by the friendliest large white puppy ever! Rachael and Rick took care of everything. Rick went through and explained how everything will be replaced and the process of doing it, as far as taking me out to the shop to show what he was referring to. In less than 20 minutes he had a whole report made up on everything that was to be done, got me in a few days later and kept me up to date with the repair schedule via text message, which was perfect. No having to answer phones at inopportune times, just read a text is good enough for me. They also made sure a rental car was waiting for me at drop off. I can't say enough about the repair. An all new door, none of this pounding out dents and using Bondo crap. The paint matching and blending is perfect!!! It shuts solid, windows and door locks all working!! This review may sound over the top and it may be, but only because it's so nice to be treated like a valued customer and and have results looking better than before the damage. Wow - what a great experience. My three year old Toyota Highander was hit by a woman in a parking lot. She did quite a bit of damage to the rear side and bumper. Utopia was pleasant, accomodating, and professional, Having been in previous accidents - I have had quite a bit of previous experience with OTHER body shops, so I was pleasantly surprised with the awesome service at Utopia. Not only was my car repaired to look like there was never any damage, but they also worked with the rental company (so I didn't have to) to have a vehicle (similar to mine) ready for me when I dropped my vehicle off and had it taken back when I picked my vehicle up. I was kept appriased of updates and any time changes at every step. I am amazed at the level of customer service, and would recommend Utopia Auto Body. I have used many auto body repair shops around Sacrameto. They always promised to make my cars look new again. Sadly this never happened and I could still see where the cars were damaged. I first discovered Utopia Auto Body in the mid 90's and took my wife's Toyota in for major rear end damage. When we got the car back we were shocked and amazed that we could not tell the car was ever damaged. The quality of the paint job exceeded the original new car appearance. I dealt with Rick, the owner, and he explained everything by drawings how he was going to repair my body damage on my car. He was very professional and extremely knowledgeable. took my Corolla in with a paint transfer issue on the passenger rear. utopia took a look at it, said "wait here a minute" came back & buffed the paint off in under 15 minutes for a VERY reasonable fee. these people also repaired my old 2010 mountaineer & matched its paint perfectly!
