Not sure what's happening with this place but I've been going for years and recommended so many friends and family, but the quality of their services have ridiculously gone down. The language barrier between the techs has become very difficult to navigate since they have barely been able to understand my English requests that are RELATED to the service I am receiving. The most recent time was the WORSE pedicure experience. To start they charge for "soak offs" but NEVER soak off. They use the drill to file the gel polish off. A literal "rip off". The tech I had constantly nicked the skin around my toenails with the drill to the point that it burned the skin. No cuticle softener/milk was used so my cuticles were cut up and bleeding. Instead of apologizing and mending my wounds the tech laughed embarrassingly to the tech next to him. Proceeded to spray alcohol on my open and actively bleeding cuts when I pulled my feet away and said NO he stops and instead rubs acetone over them. He then proceeded to apply polish over the cuts and cured them in the UV lamp. Do not wish that pain on my worse enemy. The pedicure was torture and no matter what I said or the gestures I made to try to change or stop the experience, remedied anything. I left crying from the pain and refused to pay. I explained my situation to the manager and provided proof that the tech I receive was not who I booked with and she stated "you need to put who you want in the comments because I can't see any information from the reservation you make online" I was baffled by this response. What good is it selecting the techs name from the websites filters and going through the prompts for you not to have access to accommodating the options YOU HAVE set on your site. I am DONE with Utopia, they have been reported to the Department of Health and I will no longer be recommending them to anyone. read more

went for a manicure and polish for the first time ever (I'm almost 60, and don't want to spend time fussing to keep my brittle nails neat during a trip). Heard good things about Utopia and so... Expectations: a busy, overly bright, noisy place filled with chatter, gossip, and the obnoxious smells of lacquer and solvents. What I found: a sunny, open lobby awash in the calm of a doctor's waiting room -- even when I left to discover 8 suburban-looking women waiting for their appointments. From there my tech led me to a big, beautifully designed studio room with about 20 stations where, during first appointments of the morning, only three soft. spoken technicians worked on clients in a sea of calm broken only by quiet pop/r&b music on the overhead speakers. My tech spoke instructions so quietly on her side of the plexiglass barrier that I think I said "excuse me?" and "pardon?" at least six times until she resorted to pointing. (My hearing is quite acute in spite of my age.) My tech's filing technique was all I've read NOT to do in women's magazines: she sawed back and forth instead of moving the file in only one direction to limit trauma to the nails. Otherwise she was quick, deft, and showed attention to detail, and my gel polish (a modest peachy-pink on my bog-person-pale, tanless digits) looks quite fine. If I plan to get a manicure in the future, I'll be going back to Utopia. read more

I have been going there for Quite a while now with my daughters and granddaughters. I have not found any other place even the grand Geneva in Lake Geneva. That do as good of job on my pedicure. My cousin had given me a gift certificate she could not use because she was going to be working out of town for a year and it was going to expire. I am so thankful she let me use it. This is the best place I have ever got a pedicure at. I live in Racine but I always come to the Green Bay road location in kenosha. Been coming here for over 10 years now when they were in their old building. Have tried other places in Racine because I didn't want to drive to kenosha for time reasons. I don't ever go anywhere else anymore. My favorites that I have had that do an amazing job is Faye, Zuke,Tipp and other various people. I do both gel and regular pedicures. The leg and foot massage is what I always look forward to. The ambience in the back area where they do the pedicure is very relaxing so I always feel like I'm at a spa. Just amazing! My family and I had a HORRIBLE experience here today due to racial profiling and we will never return. If I could leave zero stars I would. Several of us made an appointment for a group pedicure session, including four men. Typically men's pedicure services include some type of "buff and shine." Our group inquired about this during our pedicure and were told by the techs that they do not perform this service. When we checked out at the front desk, we shared our feedback about this (as it was a disappointment to us) and were told by the receptionist that this service is indeed offered. We respectfully raised concerns about this discrepancy and were told by the receptionist that she would contact the manager. At the time she did not share that the manager was not on the property. We were able to speak with the manager via phone after a 45 minute wait. Over the phone, the manager stated that this service was offered for FREE. (He actually stated this to two family members who spoke with him by phone.) We asked for a discounted rate, since this service was not performed, and were told that they would not discount us but would perform the requested service. However, we would have to wait 30 MINUTES TO 1 HOUR due to their error. We had several out of towners in our party and could not wait that long for services that should have been performed in the first place. We again respectfully asked for a discounted rate on the men's services. The manager (who was not present on the property) then called the sheriff because he saw "a group of people on camera surrounding his receptionist and feared for her safety" and told them that we were attempting to leave without paying. This was not the case - several people already paid for services rendered - we were simply asking for a discount for incomplete services. At no time were we belligerent or disrespectful towards staff. When the sheriff arrived, the manager and receptionist then changed their story and claimed that the "buff and shine" is offered at an extra price. At no time during our 45 minute wait for the manager did anyone state this. The sheriff was very understanding of our situation and settled the matter appropriately, stating that the call was not necessary, especially when the manager was not present. We ended up paying for our services, but this experience left us deeply upset and angry. On our way out the door, the manager asked for a police file in an attempt to bully us (which does not exist because no report was made). NEVER will I utilize this piss-poor salon again. read more

WORST pedi experience with Tinh of my LIFE tonight! I haven't had time to go in months and was very much looking forward to going tonight. My appointment was at 6 - my husband and I were called back at 6:05 - Tinh started working on my pedi about 6:07 and I was done by 6:22. I was RUSHED to say the least and was still charged full price - what a scam! This is why I always request Gael. I should have just rescheduled when I received a text this morning saying Gael was out sick. Lesson learned!!
