    bacon cheeseburger w/garlic fries $16.50
    Jeff H.

There's a special place in my heart for local diners. V Cafe serves burgers, cheese steaks, sandwiches and salads. Missing are brunch egg dishes, French toast, milkshakes, pancakes and waffles. My bacon cheeseburger w/garlic fries $16.50 was OK. It was a 1/3 pound patty, kind of dry. The meat was cooked correctly. There wasn't enough garlic taste in the garlic fries. Service was OK for an order at the counter establishment. The kitchen was fast.

Daily special: NY steak sandwich and fries ($20)

The steak sandwich was huge. Honestly it could've been 2 meals for me, which isn't bad for $20 pre tax. The steak was super soft and easy to bite through. The waffle fries are great. You pay and order at the counter. They brought the food to the table. Love the variety of hot sauce they have at the back of the store. The staff are hard working. Not friendly but not mean. I've been here multiple times and never left unhappy.

Visiting town: went here last weekend and this weekend. Quick service, good food. Highly recommend

I have been coming to V's cafe for years and it is a staple in the SOMA community. They are most popular for their cheese steaks. However, I love ordering their burgers. Their fries are soooo good just eating that makes me happy. The service is fairly quick if no one is there but it can get busy for lunch. There is plenty of seating and a small booth with stools to enjoy your meal.

I threw the sandwich away after the first bite. I honestly felt I would get sick if I finished it.

Fish Dac Biet Fish Mac (a cool spin on McDonald's fish fillet) While the price points for the specials, are around $3-$4 more than their usual burgers, it's so worth however the Uni burger for $45 is a bit steep for what it is and I'd rather get Uni at omakase vs. as a topping for a smash burger. Delivery was not far so it still came hot but quality definitely felt lower than before. meat was a bit soggy, some crisp on some edges but other parts a little off. Biggest complaint for me beyond some textural differences was it was really salty! A bit hard to eat, needed a lot of water. It was still good, but definitely felt a bit off from before so hopefully just an off day.

This place was included on a list of Sunday brunch recommendations. I had seen other fellow Elite Yelpers recommending it, so I wanted to try it. We had the French toast sticks, very good, as well as the classic breakfast dish, my partner had the breakfast burrito. Both dishes were decent, but we were there for the company mostly. The restaurant was quaint and cute, more compact, but had a secondary overflow area in a separate part of the restaurant. There were restrooms on both side, and Causewells served as a chill morning for us with our friends. The location had a cute bar set up for evening link ups, and the service was very friendly. The vibe is more of what you go for the food is decent but won't necessarily blow you away. Try them out and see for yourself.
