Discovered a leaky water heater about a week ago. After a day or so, it was getting worse. I spent a couple of days calling and driving to a few places for quotes. I had a few reasonable quotes, and V Max was my last quote to get. They wanted to do in house free estimate, so I had them come by to check on the job. Since I already knew my other quotes, I was hoping they would be in line with the others. Once Cesar got here, actually 2 minutes early, he proceeded to look at my water heater. Took him a minute or two to give me my quote, which was below most of my others, but included additional fixes to make the job safer. After I approved the quote, he needed to go pickup the parts and water heater replacement, said he would be back in a bit. Was really surprised how fast he returned, was probably gone about 20 minutes or so. Once he returned, he got started on removing the old one and doing the replacement. Overall, he got the job done fast, clean, and made me feel secure as well as felt pricing was spot on. I have some future plumbing remodels to do, so would definitely use them again. read more

My manufactured home was in desperate need of a re-pipe. I knew it was going to be expensive but at this point after so many leaking pipes and a water heater disaster it became a necessity. I first used V-Max plumbing a year ago to deal with a leak in the pipe behind the bathroom sink in a rental unit. I was working with a tenant who had limited availability. V-Max came out and evaluated the situation on the same day and gave clear information on the fix and the timeline, working with the availability of the tenant. It was done as estimated and the office called me after the completion of the work to clear the payment without me having to be present on site. I was very pleased and appreciated the experience. So naturally, when my tenant texted me after midnight to let me know that the hot water heater had quit working, I called V-Max first thing the next morning. Mind you this was on a Sunday morning of a long holiday weekend. The answering service took the call at 7:30 am, and within less than 30 minutes the Jose called me back. Jose then came out to the property by 10 am that same morning, assessed the situation, went and got the parts, brought in additional staff to help shorten the installation and completed the water heater replacement by 2:30 pm. The unit was located on the second floor -- they carted in the new heater and carted out the old. Jose also checked all the faucets to let out the air. They wore booties the whole time and laid tarp across the carpet to keep it clean from the dolly. VMax charged reasonably given their responsiveness and flexibility to work with my tenant's availability. Ernesto to the rescue! I went outside last night to a smell of gas. gas company came by and shut off my gas. They said I would need a plumber to check Gas leaks and repair. I called my regular plumber at 6:30AM today and it is now 12:22PM and still no response. They are called "Los Plomeros" BTW. I call Ernesto right after and he answered and came out to my home at 10:14AM on a Saturday morning. Inspected , diagnosed, and repaired in 2 1/2 hours flat. I called V-Max because my water heater started emitting rumbling noise. Based on prior experience, this water heater needed a flush to remove the sediments at bottom of the tank. I used Yelp to search my local plumbers and V-Max jumped out as a good candidate based on its outstanding reviews. So, I dialed up the V-Max and surprisingly the phone was answered in person. After a brief discussion of my problem, a quote was given to me, and it was very competitive. So, without any hesitation I set up an appointment with V-Max the second day. Ernesto and his crew showed up on time the next day. They were friendly and courteous. We went thought my concern and possible causes. Then, Ernesto quickly performed a check out of my water heater plumbing and all appeared normal. Next, he proceeded to set up the system to initiate the tank drain. The initial flowrate was low, and Ernesto quickly installed a small pump to speed up the flow to save the time. Meanwhile, the crews continued the detail inspection and clean up. Sure enough, an opening of the water heater exhaust pipe exiting the roof was spotted and the sky is clearly visible. Now, I need to get a roofer to fix the pipe flashing to close this opening before next rainstorm. The whole job was completed much faster than I anticipated.
