I searched for vegetarian pho and V Nam popped up on yelp so I went in to try it out. When I went, and tried to order pho, they said the broth is not going to be vegetarian but it will be beef broth. So we didn't actually get to dine here, so I can't rate about the food. But when we walked in, we didn't feel welcome by the server, and we just sat ourselves down, and realized that we had to go up to the counter to order first. The server didn't tell us, or gave us any indication while we were sitting down trying to figure out. If you are not a vegetarian I'm sure you will have lots of options here, and from the other review the food sounds decent. We really wanted to try other menus that could be modified to be vegetarian, but we didn't really appreciate the interaction we had with the server so we decided to go to another place. Just wish the service was a little better!

We came here to get some vegetarian pho since we saw some reviews on that but their broth is beef based so no choice for plant based... perhaps you can get something else but the staff wasn't that welcoming nor friendly so we lost the desire of getting foods. Hope they try more plant based ones and improve the customer service.

Maybe it's just today, but it's kind of nasty in here. Roof is leaking, it's cold, bathroom and floors are dirty. Hated to see the back which looked pretty bad. And we found hair in the vermicelli. Definitely won't be back.

I am very picky with my Vietnamese food. But if you're looking for a gooood Viet place north of Austin then this is it. The quality, flavour, and even the quantity are all there. I typically don't like peanut sauce with my summer rolls and usually ask for fish sauce instead. However this time I forgot and was amazed how good their peanut sauce was. Their Pho is also delicious here. 10/10 would recommend.

Giving 5 stars for the pho and ambiance. The ambiance is adorable!! Classic Frenchy bistro cafe vibes. I got the beef pho that had flank, tendon, tripe and steak. Delicious with a strong star anise flavor to the broth. The small size was very filling. Plus I had one shrimp summer roll which was fine but the sauce was underwhelming. And we all know that summer rolls must be balanced with a umami rich peanut sauce. Adding the chili sauce to peanut sauce helped a lot. I did appreciate that the roll had more veggies and shrimp than noodles in it. Also had the jasmine tea which came in its own teapot so came out to about 3 cups. The tea was very meh--either that or the cup had leftover detergent smell to it that overpowered the flavor. You order at the register which I loved--adds to the casual quaint bistro feel. Staff was quick and attentive.

Small Vietnamese restaurant with good service. Love their fried spring shrimp rolls. The entire shrimp is rolled in the rolls and leaving the shrimp tail on. Their pho comes in two sizes. I ordered the smaller size. It was still very filling and good. Their broth tasted a bit sweet for my liking but still good. Portion size is good and price is fair for the market nowadays. They play music videos of classic American songs cover and it was cool.

The rave reviews of V-Nam Bistro did NOT steer me wrong! I was craving a vermicelli bowl and this was everything I wanted and more. For $13, the portions are large and the tofu was cooked perfectly. A little bit crisp, and not dry. Absolutely hit the spot and will be back!

The best Pho in town and reasonably priced! The grilled meats in the vermicelli and rice plates are also delicious. If there's one item I would skip it would be the bao's.

We did not come in with high expectations but the food completely blew us away. K6. Salt and Pepper Crawfish ($19): This was fire and honestly the best fried crawfish we have had. So much better than I expected and unlike anything else we have tried. The crawfish was crispy and flavorful and came with a bowl of white rice and a lemon and pepper dipping sauce. B10. Lemongrass Vermicelli Stir Fry Combo ($17): The receipt said spicy but it was not spicy at all. The combo comes with 3 proteins including chicken, shrimp, and beef, and we added grilled pork ($5) and bi ($3) so we ended up with 5 types of meat in the bowl. The flavors were well balanced even with everything going on and the bowl was absolutely humongous. We were stuffed afterwards.

The bowl itself came loaded with meat--they definitely weren't skimping to save money here. The meat-to-noodle ratio felt great, and every bite actually had substance instead of leaving me fishing around for toppings. As for the broth, I landed somewhere in the middle. It wasn't quite as clear or light as I personally prefer, leaning toward a fattier, milkier undertone that almost reminded me of a Vietnamese pho take on tonkotsu. The flavor itself was undeniably very good, but the richness may have been a bit too much for me personally. One way I usually judge how much I love a pho broth is whether I want to sip the bowl down to the very end, and this one wasn't quite light enough for me to want to do that. I've had richer and deeper pho flavors elsewhere, but I still appreciated the flavor profile here and could absolutely see why this place is so popular. It feels hearty, comforting, and satisfying in a way that clearly resonates with many people. Despite how packed the restaurant was, the atmosphere ended up being surprisingly pleasant. Service moved very quickly, which honestly impressed me given how busy everything felt. Even with the crowd, I didn't dislike the spacing or setup at all--the restaurant still felt comfortable, and the sound of people enjoying their food all around added to the lively, welcoming energy rather than making it feel overwhelming. Overall, Pho Phong Lưu ended up being one of those places where I completely understood the hype, even if it didn't become my personal favorite pho spot. While the broth leaned richer than my preference, I still enjoyed the experience and definitely look forward to trying other dishes next time.

And honestly it's better than any fancy restaurant out there. I love the amount of plants in the space and the TV plays cooking videos and it's so nice to watch while waiting for your food! Speaking of waiting for your food, the food comes out super quick! Within 1 minute of ordering my drink, it came out! And a couple minutes after follows the food. The service is amazing as well, the servers are super sweet and are very quick to serve you and get what you need. The menu offers a bunch of things, appetizers, main dishes, desserts, and the drinks! I love how the desserts and drinks are also Vietnamese (most of the time I notice restaurants tend to have the basic selection of fountain drinks and desserts, but this restaurant has a wide variety of drinks and desserts so you can try something new every time you come here!) Most of all, there's a bunch of vegan dishes which I absolutely love. The food is always delicious I've been trying the vegan dishes recently and I love them a lot (as someone who doesn't like vegan dishes normally)! The chicken pho is also so delicious it tastes better than I make it at home! So much flavor. The drinks are so good as well. They also give you a big portion and I normally have leftovers, but the portion size is amazing for the price that you pay. It's definitely more affordable and such a bang for your buck. This is definitely a spot to try and trust me, you'll probably fall in love! If I was an Austin tourist I would definitely hit up this restaurant. I could go on and on about this restaurant.

The inside was vey inviting and tastefully decorated. We had the Beef Bulgogi Bao, this was really yummy. The bao was soft and delightful. The beef had a sweet bulgogi glaze that worked really well with it. The rest of the toppings added a nice balance without overpowering the meat. My only wish was that it was 4 baos and not two since they are so small. The highlight was the Firecracker Shrimp. Be warned this is not a spicy dish like you might think from the name. The crispy shrimp was crunchy and not soggy at all, it felt pretty clean and not greasy. It came with salad, rice and a spicy soy sauce and it was just so good. With 12 shrimp, it's definitely shareable between 2 people. Lastly we had the Vietnamese iced coffee which was $6. It tasted like Ovaltine and was mostly ice with just a few sips. I wouldn't recommend it unless the cup size is increased or the price is decreased. So overall, it's a bit pricey. The menu was also a little confusing. We checked online prior to coming and they had a lot of stuff but when at the restaurant, there were only a few items listed which caught us off guard. We actually ended up ordering the wrong item (firecracker shrimp when we actually wanted dynamite shrimp, ultimately it worked out cuz it was delicious but the problem still stands). So those are the only cons I can think off. Other than that, The place was fantastic. Did not think Hutto would have a place of this caliber.
