We came here with a 2-for-1 deal from Priority Wine Pass. I paid for a $55 reservation in advance; note that it is not possible to book online with the Priority Wine Pass discount and you must call them to book. Normally the tasting is done outdoors, but due to construction it was done in the barrel room. Our sommelier showed us a menu of 14 wines, and we didn't have to get the same thing, so basically we could choose to try 10 of them for the price of one tasting session. We would request two at once, and there would be five rounds of this. First round, we got the 2022 Sauvignon Blanc and 2022 Collina d'Oro Chardonnay. The sauv blanc had notes of pear, citrus, kiwi, and passionfruit, and was a pretty typical sauv blanc. The chardonnay had notes of grass and lemon and was a bit muted. Second round, we got the 2022 Dry Riesling and 2022 Another World Riesling. The dry riesling had notes of lemon and peach. The Another World riesling was more sweet with notes of honey and pear. Third round, we got the 2022 Collina d'Oro Pinot Noir and 2020 Gilsson Vineyard Old-Vine Zinfandel. The pinot had notes of cherry, strawberry, and raspberry. The zin was quite interesting with notes of raspberry, herbs, and crayon. Fourth round, we got the 2019 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and 2019 Preston Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. Both had oak, earth, and blackberry, but the Napa cab was a bit more full-bodied and tannic. FIfth round, we moved to the dessert wines with the 2022 Muscat and Madeira. The muscat had notes of lychee, honeysuckle, peach, and caramel. The madeira had notes of wood, caramel, and figs. Overall, the quality of the wine was good but not exceptional. Our somm was a bit passive; if we asked questions, he would answer them, but he didn't go out of his way to introduce the wines we were tasting. read more

The sandwich I ate was good but the rudeness of employees spoiled the meal . My friends were not impressed with there meal . We then went to our tasting . I didn't expect this winery to be my second favorite of the trip, but it was absolutely amazing. The wines were exceptional, and service was outstanding. We also loved their deli and enjoyed the quiche and some shrimp. It was delicious. Ambience was very warm, kind of a vineyard farm feel. More laid back atmosphere. We got to try some unique zinfandels, a Syrah, and the memorable Madeira. Their white wines were excellent as well. It was our first winery of the trip and we would go back again. Sattui and what they strive to achieve today were very interesting to hear! He offered helpful information about the wine we were sampling, the wine making process and even local history. As we were checking in for our reservation, it took about 10 minutes because the winery is quite poplar and there were van loads of people getting dropped off. She gave our large group of 11 girls the most detailed and elaborate tour of the winery while making us laugh. Loved hearing the origin story of the Sattui family, especially after learning that the family still runs it generations later!! The barrel aged wines and the cellar were my favorite parts. One of my friends is the member, she brought us with her to the winery tour and wine tasting. Each of us get 5 types of wine to taste, my favorite is the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, Regina and mascato. They had a great selection of wines, plus food and snacks like cheese and bread, giving you the freedom to create your own pairings. The friendly staff was always ready with recommendations. I absolutely loved the picnic vibes, which were a refreshing change from the traditional wine tastings at other Napa wineries. They have a picnic area with tables and a large tent outside the marketplace, although it can get crowded and finding a table may be a challenge. We were recommended this winery and are so glad we chose to visit it over the others in the area! My boyfriend and I opted for the indoor tasting at $45 per person for an hour, and we enjoyed our time tremendously. You can sample 5 wines from their selection of 13 bottles, and the gentleman assisting us even offered a complimentary taste of the Madeira wine. The venue is gorgeous, with plenty of open space to walk around and outdoor seating. We loved that you can purchase snacks from their market, bring your own, or even order sandwiches and appetizers from what appears to be a food truck on the property. We ordered the truffle fries and roasted garlic, which were delicious and reasonably priced. I visited V Sattui last week on a Thursday for wine tasting with a friend. We were running late and the winery was kind enough to accommodate us at a later timing. Personally I loved my experience here. The winery is beautiful and has a cute space for picnics also, I could see a lot of families sitting there and having a great time. This is one of the finest wine tastings I have had. 10/10 for the ambience, experience and the wine tasting. I loved every wine I tasted specially the Dry Riesling, this is hands down one of the finest white wines I have had. I like sweet ones a lot, so this one complemented my taste buds perfectly. Even the dessert wine here was heavenly, genuinely one of the best I have had. The lady serving us was very kind and informative and made sure I selected wines according to my taste buds. Overall, I think V Sattui is one of the top wineries in the area and I would highly recommend it to everyone. V. Sattui is my favorite winery in Napa Valley :) The ambience is very classy, esp the beautiful fountain at the entrance, sprawling picnic lawn areas, and the beautiful estate. I have already visited this winery thrice and it always is a pleasurable experience. They have a great selection of wine. I have done the indoor/outdoor/members-only cellar tastings and all have been rather enjoyable. I love their Dry Riesling, Gamay Rouge, Cab and always stock up on these! I visited this location last year and it was a wonderful experience. From the various wine selections to the customer service everything was top tier. A good friend of mine suggested we go here and it does have a cheese and deli selection & the option to purchase any wine you tasted. I've been to this location last year and this was before the renovations. As of late, they are doing renovations of the whole winery and the wine tasting is in a mobile trailer. Came here on a Saturday and it was packed. We were unable to get a tasting reservation since it was super busy so we ended up getting some wine bottles and charcuterie items and eating/drinking on one of the picnic benches (which is what most people do here). Wine: thought it was okay, not my favorite but to each their own, I'd go to other wineries for the wine Food: truffle fries were good, charcuterie items were super tasty but expect everything to be way overpriced. Cheese and meat options in my picture easily cost $100+ dollars. I'd recommend getting sandwiches or their other meals from the truck/shop. I think most people come here because they allow kids and dogs outdoor in the picnic areas so it's great if you have a family/group. Otherwise it feels too touristy,busy, hectic for me. I'd rather visit the other wineries in the area that are quieter and more relaxing. But like I said, good for groups, families, small dogs. Also they need to build more restrooms. 2 restrooms on property only have a total of 4 stalls for women and 1 porter potty near parking lot that has 2 more. That's only 6 bathroom stalls for women and 6 for men for a winery that has easily 200 customers packed in there during the weekends. A member of our party was there the weekend before and said it was even busier. Be prepared to pack a picnic blanket or mat because picnic table seating is hard to find, we had to wait awhile for a table and had to run to get it as another group was leaving. read more

As far as ambiance the place is currently under renovations therefore the market is a bit tight but overall still provides outstanding service. We had the wine tasting all the wines i tried were delicious i enjoyed even the wines from the barrels that we tried which i thought was pretty cool a bit warm but overall a nice wine. They no longer serve crackers with the wine but I guess now you have the option to go to the market and bring the crackers down. Which i must say should be complimentary but i get it rough economy. Our favorite was the Zinfandel so we bought a bottle of that. Overall though the wines were just okay for me. The area is pretty vast. We did the outdoor tasting which was amazing since it was nice out. This was in a secluded area. And then after we bought our bottle, we took it to the courtyard area where there were a lot of people picnicking with their wines. Overall great spot to enjoy your recently purchased wine bottle(s). We decided to do a quick day trip to Napa and I knew that V Sattui has a nice picnic area where you can get stuff from their deli and just relax. I'm not a big fan of the prescriptive wine tasting appointments since you're always on a schedule + I don't really drink that much for a tasting to be worth the $$$. The deli area was under construction and you could see big things are happening + they are looking to open a super nice environment. Meanwhile they had temporary service next to it. Bart helped us pick a bottle of their Syrah - he was very welcoming and we were able to be in and out with wine and some food. The picnic tables are nice and you get to relax and find a space away from the crowds. I enjoyed the atmosphere and am excited to see the place once the construction is finished! read more

Came to do the grounds tour and tasting with my family visiting from out of town with a a dog and a child. I was happy that they could accommodate us when I called beforehand to confirm. On the day of our trip we arrived approxm 10min late, but called ahead to let them know. Again, I am happy that they could accommodate us. We did the ground tour and tasting. As for the tour. It was a very brief tour of one wine making room and we took one step into the vineyard next to the tasting area. It was pretty underwhelming. I felt the our tasting guide provided some interesting information, but honestly he didn't seem that lively or engaging, it a really not the type of hospitable experience you would expect. The tasting was fine, but the up sale was non stop and overbearing. The guy literally finished every one of his sentences reiterating their ongoing deals. It was one big sales pitch. Very little continued attention on the wines themselves or the winery. He just continued to speak on what deals we could have. Honestly, it turned me off from wanting to purchase anything. I asked if I could try the Zinfandel again as I contemplated purchasing it, and decided against it and the host said "oh you just wanted to try it to just try it?" like he was incredulous. My friend decided that he only wanted one bottle and the guy filled out the form with a the wrong bottle and that was twice the price of what he wanted. My friend didn't know if that was on purpose or not but was so turned off from the experience he decided against it. From that point in I wanted nothing else to do with this guy. But I did in fact buy a bottle at the store later. Again, I wanted to buy a single bottle and when I walked up to one of the attendants there and asked for a single bottle he looked me up and down and said "people usually buy two bottle". What kind of weird sale pitch is that? I'm not sure what's going with this place. I love V. Sattui for their marketplace and their chill grounds where you can picnic. I wouldn't go here for any type of winery experience. read more

Priority wine pass took me here, I booked for 5 people and had a slight discount after applying the bogo. I'm lucky my group surprisingly beat the crowd by arriving before noon on a Sunday. I also overlooked on the website that they're renovating, so my experience was likely less crowded than usual. They have a deli and I would rank this as an affordable lunch spot even if you're not here for a tasting experience. I had a panini and enjoyed pasta/salad from their fridge. I wish they would have more seating to accommodate the busyness of the weekends. We witnessed large groups of people duking it out over picnic tables. The tasting experience was fine, tried five different wines, and took home some bottles. Ironically enough, my friend, who was non-alcoholic tried their in-house grape juice which was super tasty. This place was lovely. I was able to take a quick tour of the facilities and there are so many! They are able to accommodate group parties, and they host plenty of weddings. They have plenty of outdoor spaces, and even tent one of them to keep the heat in. It's very well done. I tried the premium tasting and could choose any 5 wines. I think the upcharge for premium is worth it too. They have a big market store with a deli inside, so you can order a bottle, grab some food, and find a spot to sit at. I love places that offer that. A nice open winery with picnic spots. Rather than a limited organized space to visit, Sattui had an open seating section where there was no need to scramble out after your tasting experience! The only downside when I went was construction happening on the property. The indoor wine tasting was at the marketplace area so a little cramped up, but the people were friendly and helped us get the best options. Loved their whites and reds but was not a fan of the Madeira personally! We also hung out for about an hour at the picnic table. Overall nice experience minus the construction!! Even in the rain, our experience V. Sattui was so enjoyable that we could've ditched our other winery plans and spent the rest of our day here. The covered dining area and heaters made the weather barely noticeable, and the food was exactly what we needed to warm up and refuel. We chose to buy lunch from the market, which had a plethora of options, from packaged salads to fresh organic portobello mushrooms to heavier meals like lasagna and paninis. Everything at the deli was reasonably priced and plentiful. I had a portobello mushroom stuffed with sausage, which cost only $9 but filled me up until dinner. There's also a selection of desserts, the most striking of which was the homemade sorbetto. The staff were all friendly and of course wanted us to taste their wines at the market counter. I really liked the tasting and variety of wines. The history as it goes is that V Sattui came to San Francisco in 1882 from Italy and in 1885 started a winery there that went out of business when the Prohibition hit in the 1900s. In 1976 his great grandson started this winery in Napa Valley and was one of the first wineries to offer wine experiences. I did the bar standing wine tasting and the server was friendly. All the wines I tasted were excellent. The tasting as I recall was for 6 different wines however the server lost count and for some reason served me 9 different wines. I'm glad the pours were small because 9 would have been to much for me in less than one hour. The grapes on the vine looked very good too! read more
