We ordered a charcuterie board that paired nicely with the wine tasting and grape juice, along with a box of savory macarons (so unique!). This was quite the oasis. There is plenty to see on the tour and our guide was amazing and very kind. Ambiance: there was plenty of shaded areas with so much to view, the vineyards, building, and tasting area outside was comfortable and so beautiful. Food: you can purchase food from their own shop on the premises (entrees, sides, snack, etc), or order something from the food trucks they have available by the outside tasting area. Walked in on a Friday at 1:30 pm & was offered an indoor option standing option ($45) or outdoor seated option ($55) where we were able to sample 5 of the 13 wines on their list. Unfortunately the market is being renovated so we did our wine tasting in a temporary building, but the experience was still super nice thanks to Bart! He was so knowledgeable about each types of wine and gave us lots of recommendations on how to drink our wine. Would definitely try to visit while he's working! We swapped our wines a bit (we are sweet white wine drinkers, but we landed on our favorites which were the dry and over dry rieslings...) but tried both their Angelica and Madeira which were both brandy-forward / infused wines and definitely a huge shock to our taste buds... would definitely try if you're here! Came here for a private event and it was absolutely stunning. There is such nice stone work through the place. As you work further to the grass, you get a view of rows of greenery and the hills in the back. We were met with the staff immediately welcoming us. They were active with ensuring their wine didn't run out and their food didn't run out. Their moscato was the drink I kept requesting! 8/10 pizza. I got their chicken barbecue pizza and their pepperoni pizza. I think their chicken bbq pizza could've used more chicken pieces, but with an even with about 400 people, the pieces they had seemed reasonable. Their pepperoni pizza was great! I usually don't eat pepperoni on my pizza, but for some reason, I didn't pick them out and thoroughly enjoyed this pizza! 7/10 chicken bbq. Came to V Sattui Winery several years ago to try out their wines. We were impressed of the food options they have here. Wine tasting was just OK, we didn't like much of what we tried. We have gone back a couple more times as it is very kid friendly. Typically meet up here with husband's family and/or friends with their kids. It's always a fun picnic outside during the summer where the kids can just play outside while the adults enjoy some wine and food. We have tried a few bottle of their wines and have liked a few of them (I can't remember which ones and forgot to take photos of them - oh well). Their little market place offers all kinds of cheese, meat for charcuterie, sandwiches, salads, etc. This place is usually super busy in the summer; parking is always crazy in the summer! Definitely recommend V Sattui if you have kids and/or looking for a chill place to enjoy wine and food! read more

Normally...VSattui is a must visit every time coming to Napa. 5 star....., but: Right now the winery is undergoing major remodeling. Ie whoever thought of placing mobile trailers on the property... having guest walk over bridges to go through property.....PASS! It's like walking a exercise course. V is not for Vendetta...... I was thankful to have had the opportunity to visit V Sattui Winery last May 2023. After hearing about this Winery from various friends and relatives, I finally had my chance on my return to the Napa Valley (nearly 10 years after my last visit). NOTES 1. Reservations recommended. My SIL made a reservation for 3 ahead of our visit. 2. Check in was with staff just off of the parking lot near the fountain. After check-in was completed, we were directed to their main building/tasting room. 3. Aside from the tasting room, I was surprised to discover that the grounds open for public use is vast. Guests can choose to purchase food/lunch/snacks and wine (of course) at their store, and gather at one of the many picnic tables available. The gift shop has many souvenirs/items one can purchase to commemorate their visit. TASTING / TASTING ROOM The tasting room is vast, grand, and quite decorative. A mural on the far wall depicts (presumably) the winery's founders and workers in their efforsts at building the business/property into the famed winery it is today. The tasting bar (of course) sits grandly in the middle of the room, but it is the wine that takes center stage. Our host, Carlo, was a friendly gentlemen who possessed an ardent demeanor when describing the wine making process and the various wines V Sattui produces. In the end, after tasting various reds and whites, and a "bonus", we purchased 2 bottles of Chardonnay and were on our way to explore the rest of the property. side NOTE We observed other tourists having a tasting in their grocery shop. I've visited V. Sattui several times but never got around to trying their wine until now. Parking was easy to find cause they have their own and it was free. Opting for a change of pace, we decided to sample their Bubble Bar Tasting for the day ($50 per person). They took us into this private bar room specifically for bubble tasting. Let me tell you, it exceeded expectations. While they all tasted good, the moscato they served stole the show with its perfect balance of sweetness. We couldn't resist and bought a bottle to take home! We also tried another one called Angelica, which my friends really liked a lot! Our host, Oscar, was incredibly fun and friendly, and we also had a great time chatting with Christian. Both of them made our visit memorable! Their deli offers delicious food--we particularly enjoyed their jam and sandwiches. The only complaint I'd say would be their restroom is not that clean. Overall, I'd rate this place a solid 9/10. Spent part of my birthday at this winery and it was great! Our host, Mitch, was super friendly, knowledgeable, and really made our visit special. The wines are really good at a good price point. You can pick out 5 wines to taste off their tasting menu offerings. We even asked if we could try some that weren't on the tasting menu and they obliged. We ended up buying a case and a half of wine! I've been to V Sattui Winery so many times, but havent had the pleasure to write. review. My friends and I did a tasting in the cellar and had a great time. All of their wines are wonderful. My personal favorite is the Gamay Rouge, which is more of a rose but taste so refreshing. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I also appreciate how attentive they were and were great at providing recommendations. The property itself is beautiful. The cellar was beautifully decorated. This place has always been one of the best locations to get a good variety of wine. It is also the best place to grab lunch with the family since you can eat outside on the lawn and grab something for everyone in the family. We go here anytime and every time we are in the area to either grab what we like or just to see what is new as well. We plan on trying the new brandy that they have but I think the price is the only thing that is keeping me from buying it. It is $110, do I think it's worth that much I don't know quite yet because I have not tasted it. I think for something that is still in the introductory level it should be under $100. I will let folks know once I try it to see what kind of notes it really has but I still have to get over the price of $110. I have not found many reviews on the product yet. read more

Prior to visiting Napa we had recommendations to visit V. Sattui. We booked a tasting beforehand and visited this winery on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. On weekends, this place is crowded and with nice weather, it was packed! The setting here is amazing...the tasting is right in front of the vines, with the wine train in the distance. Our server for the tasting, Joe, did an outstanding job. He was knowledgeable of the wine and gave excellent suggestions. The tasting is 5 different wines. I went with all reds, ranging from Zinfandel, to Pinot Noir, to Cabernet Sauvignon. Joe also suggested a blend, La Merica, which was very good. Others in our group also tasted whites and a champagne. We liked some better than others, but that's what a tasting is all about! There's a marketplace here also. While it was too crowded to eat here, we picked up bread, cheese, salami, and prosciutto to enjoy with a bottle of wine back at our place. I definitely recommend Sattui. It might be wiser to go on a weekday when it's less crowded, but it's a great stop! read more

V. Sattui used to be a wonderful place to go, grab some tasty eats and a bottle of wine, and sit on the lawn or at a picnic table and enjoy they day. The marketplace had wonderful food, that was high quality, their staff was helpful and the atmosphere was welcoming! We have spent many agternoons there and have many lovely memories. Today we arrived at the newly remodeled marketplace and were underwhelmed. The choices are very limited now and the staff is not as helpful as they used to be. We chose a panino, some arancini, and the Thai Noodle Salad (which is still quite tasty!), grabbed a bottle from the fridge case (Thank you Mitch for your help!) and headed out to the lawn. We shared our table with another group because we weren't using the whole thing and they had limited tables available. The food is very meh. The panino could have been made at any gas station and was barely warm and the arancini tasted like something we could get out of a freezer case. We were about done with our lunch when a staff member, who had been hovering for most of our meal approached our table mates and let them know that they had to return some food to their cars because it hadn't been purchased at the venue, and that "there are signs everywhere that say you can't bring outside food on site". Mind you, there are signs that do say that, but our tablemates had purchased many things from the marketplace, including meats, olives, cheeses, salads and several bottles of wine. "I can see from here you brought that baguettes from somewhere else. I'll be back in 15 minutes to check on you." was the last thing he said before we left. For a place that used to be so welcoming with high quality ingredients and a warm atmosphere, V. Sattui sure went way downhill. We were really looking forward to seeing the new marketplace, but the limited offerings, the unhelpful staff (minus Mitch) and the unwelcoming wardens policing the lawn have ensured we won't be back. I regret to give this winery one star but am compelled to do so to prevent others from having the same experience. I contacted the winery about my tasting experience but did not hear back. We sat outside in a dark, smelly, wet corner of the patio surrounded by mosquitos and fruit flies. I attached a photo of our spot as well as a napkin showing the number of bugs we had to kill while seated. It seemed like our seats were the worst but we saw bugs near the tables next to us too. I asked our server if we could move spots but she said there are bugs everywhere. The amount of bugs was very distracting and made it impossible to enjoy the tasting. They occasionally flew in our glasses which made the experience worse, especially since the glasses were not changed out with each new wine. Perhaps a bug repellent candle would help to deter the bugs and add to the ambiance. Additionally, it was quite loud and there were lots of kids. A good place if you want to bring kids, but we hoped for a more relaxing place. The wines are okay but none stood out in comparison to other wineries in Napa. Lastly, the servers didn't seem to have pride in the wines poured. read more

We decided to purchase a bottle of zin, paired it with some toffee chocolate from their store and enjoyed both sitting at the picnic tables under the olive tree grove. Great stop with accessible parking and will be even better when their new store construction is completed. They had pizza, gelato, lots of deli and cheese items, good selection of wine for purchase as well as eating utensils and other gift items in the store which is currently in a temporary modular building. This was a last minute find for us to end the day of wine tasting. We were originally planning to do a wine tasting here but found out we could go to the shop and buy bottles and enjoy it in the picnic ground which worked out better for us. We picked out 3 bottles, a Pinot Noir, Brut Rose, and a Chardonnay (also got a bottle of grape juice). We sat next to the shop at a picnic table and enjoyed the bottles. It was more chill than sitting through a tasting. This property is beautiful but there is construction going on (luckily, none was ongoing when we were there). I was a bit disappointed in V Sattui this week as I have been many times and enjoyed the space and make a point of buying grocery items there for a picnic lunch. At this time they are undergoing construction, and also, nicer areas of the grounds are cordoned off for either events or for tasting only (no food allowed at tasting, even if purchased there) so I felt like this was a less good experience than I had before. I wouldn't come back while the main shop was closed for repairs. Also, it seemed like every staff member sounded curt and harassed -- maybe the unexpected heat this week. So it was merely a good experience. We enjoyed a bottle of Gamay Rouge with our cheese, salami, and cabernet truffles at a picnic table and were able to see the wine train passing outside slowly. read more

Had not been back to this place in 20+ years and it seems busier than ever. They still only sell direct so you can't get V.Sattui at restaurants nor stores that sell/distribute wine. They have a wide variety of wines and the best madiera in the world if you like dessert wines. And also have a full deli on top of the cheeses, meats and bread that you can buy to eat at one of the many picnic tables on site. The Wine Train stops here as 1 of 2 of the stops which brings more people and they do private events which can really pack the winery and parking lot. Like with almost all of the wineries now, if you want to do a tasting, you need to reserve a spot in advance. But, it's a nice place to visit and just chill with friends over some wine. read more

My friends and I came here to experience Napa at the beginning of July. We didn't want to do a full on tour, so we bought bottles of wine, cheese, and meats from the shop. The workers in the shop were super helpful and helped us pick out a wine we enjoyed. There was an amazing variety of wines (white, red) and a good assortment of cheese, meats, and carbs (breads, crackers). They were doing construction, so their shop was inside a portable and were serving food from an outdoor tent. I ordered a croquet for myself, which was pretty good. It was cheesy and crispy on the outside. There were a lot of tables outside where we enjoyed our food and wine. It was during the summer, so it was extremely hot and somewhat uncomfortable even sitting under a tree. The scenery here is beautiful! You can view the vineyards in the back, and the architecture of the buildings is amazing. There's a lot of great photo opportunities on property. My friends that live in the Bay Area always go to V. Sattui, and I understand why. This place made my first time to Napa memorable. read more

I'm new to the Napa scene. Prior to making reservations, I looked into a few other wineries, including the one I've been to with family. I chose here because I was taking a friend, and we just wanted something casual with food options, yet still provided photo opportunities. Navigating their website and booking my reservation online was easy, direct. I chose Premier Outdoor Tasting with the chocolate upgrade. I feel like I booked a bit too close for comfort. Booked on 6/20 for a tasting on 6/24. Then again, I'm not sure when the optimal time to visit is. We left Alameda around 10:00 a.m. for an 11:30 a.m. tasting. I'm a punctual person, so I thought I had given myself enough time to get there on time. Ha ha, of course I'm not going to tell you the multiple alarms I had set and one being that I leave at 9:20 a.m. Sometimes, that bed and snooze button look so good you don't want to get up yet. What I took away from this experience was to give yourself extra EXTRA time to get to your destination. Factor in 1) day and time 2) events/holidays 3) traffic/accidents 4) construction 5) weather 6) parking Most of the factors I've listed above played a role in our trip. As we were nearing the winery and with our time crawling close, I tried to call the winery to let them know we were still coming and that we were x minutes away. I didn't get a hold of someone, by then I was just hoping for the best. Once we got to the property, I thought we'd have a difficult time finding a parking spot, but as we drove further in, we saw a handful of open spots. There were a few employees walking around who helped navigate us to the right place. Stand in this line. Providing directions to the right tasting location. Beautiful property, weather was perfect for a day out, but it was a bit chilly for me. I did bring a denim jacket. It did the job, but I would have preferred to be warmer. I do get cold easily. Arriving at the grove, we were seated after a few minutes. Depending on the time of day, you could get sun and/or shade. Most of the patio furniture has umbrellas that were open due to the trees overhead. With us being cold, we would have welcomed the sun! But it seemed like all the tables with sunlight were occupied. We made due. Our salesperson was Josh E. very patient with us, as we were getting sidetracked talking amongst ourselves. We were provided a menu and a checklist(?) of wines we could taste. He also brought out our chocolates and let us know if we wanted to know which wine to pair it with. The whole tasting experience was wonderful. We didn't feel rushed. We took our time (that is, in our allotted time frame). On empty stomachs, we asked for water. Soaked in the views of the vineyard. I am sad to report that I didn't find any to my liking, and I wished I did have time prior to the tasting to have something to snack on from the marketplace while we were sipping. As yummy as the chocolates were, I don't think I would get the chocolate upgrade next time. Next, bathrooms! Ugh, men have it easy. Ladies, that line. Well, sometimes it wasn't bad, but STILL. I believe there's two at the main building; one on the main level and one below. Another by the grove. I've only used the one on the main level. The second time around, my stall ran out of toilet paper. So, just be wary. I warned the next girl going in. Bring some wipes! Originally, we were going to leave the property in search of lunch/food but went to check out the food truck that was available on the weekends. Ordered the tri tip sandwich and truffle fries. It was going to take about 15 minutes for our food to be ready, so we checked out the marketplace. A lot of people and not a lot of room to maneuver around comfortably. Also, I saw that it was where some of the indoor tastings were taking place. Honestly, I'm glad I chose the outdoor seating. Left with a cute wine pourer, sparkling juice and... chocolate... Hey! I needed something to hold me over until I had food in my belly. We brought with us a picnic blanket to set up in their picnic area. We got a decent corner spot by a tree and the fence near the railroad tracks. If we hadn't, we would have had a difficult time finding a spot to enjoy our meal. Food was okay. I don't know. Was the food supposed to be served hot or cold? The Napa Valley Wine Train took a stop in front of the property. It was a cool thing to see, I haven't personally ridden on it. But, it did block out the main road for a better photo backdrop. After cleaning up, we wandered through the grounds, taking photos as we went. Noticed that some employees were prepping for an evening event in the courtyard and basement. We were still allowed to check it out as the members were tasting in a room nearby. Spent 5-6 hours here, had to make most of our drive, right? I would definitely recommend this winery, no matter the occasion and who's in the party, especially if I had friends or family visiting from out of state. read more

We bought our favorite wine to complement our meal. The staff will gladly open the wine for you and provide a plastic glasses and utensils. Fresh and high- quality food all around. Chardonay Cabernet Spring arancini cooked to perfection, delicious! Seafood salad is fresh, but I prefer it with fewer onions. Kale salad is delicious with its dressing. Beautiful property and amazing wine and food The winery, market and grounds are gorgeous!! It's important to be aware that this place is very popular and that popularity equals big crowds with children. David and I came here for lunch and wine. The venue has picnic tables around the buildings with beautiful gardens and fountains. Patrons can purchase food and wine from the indoor deli and then enjoy a picnic in their gardens. Plates and utensils are available in the deli for your picnic. Outside food and wine is not permitted. David and I split a pesto chicken panini, caprese salad and assorted olives. The terrace has a chilled filtered water station on the side of the building -LOVE that they provide this convenience to avoid plastic water bottle waste!! We visited today, Sunday, and it was PACKED full of people with children. Lots of loud children. We lucked into grabbing a picnic table in a shady spot. We loved everything about this place except the crowds, however that's to be expected on a Sunday with perfect weather. Service and food were great!! Our food was $43.83 and the bottle of wine was another $70. Not a cheap meal but everything was delicious!! Bathrooms were clean and nice. My tip is to visit on a weekday and avoid the crowds. My party of four reserved an outdoor seated tasting on Mother's Day. It was a bit hard to find where to check in because the outdoor tasting is some what in the same area as the bubble bar but they only have a sign for the bubble bar...more signage would be helpful. I thought our tasting would be where the picnic tables are at the front of the winery but we were actually in the back side of the winery some what near the vineyard. I didn't like that it was bark landscape though...with open toed shoes this was not comfortable and there were A LOT of ants crawling all over the table. But, it was a very shaded area, which was nice for a warmer Napa day. Unfortunately food is not available in this tasting area, which was kind of a bummer because we were all hungry...so we quickly did our tastings. My cousin added the Cabernets to his tasting and he really enjoyed those. I'm not a huge red fan but their cabs aren't as bitter as others so it was a nice and easy introduction to reds for me! After experiencing a wine tasting inside and outside, I would recommend coming for a picnic! I love that you can buy chilled bottles and food from their deli without a reservation. There is PLENTY of picnic space. Almost all of their outdoor area is open to picnics. This would make for an easy and relaxing afternoon! read more

I loved my tasting experience with Trey. This is my second time visiting this winery and is a must do when coming to Napa Valley! They have it all to have a great picnic here: amazing wines, market, seating areas. I would say you have to get out here early to get a bench or you can bring your lawn chair or blankets. You don't have to have a tasting appointment to visit this winery. We walked around the market and I did try their food truck. The portions are a little small for the price, so I just opted for some truffle fries to put something on my stomach before my tasting time. I prefer sweet wines and Trey gave us tastings of the ones that they offer, which are quite a few! I enjoyed each one, but my favorite was their late harvest Riesling and the Angelica. The Angelica had a nutty caramel taste. The Sattui family also owns Castello di Amorosa. They really are experts on wine. read more

One of the best wineries and experience. Ive heard so many good things about this place and im glad i was able to see for myself. I was a little confused because there is a shop right when you come in the parking lot but if you wnd up there that's not the main location. Walk past construction. This place is beautiful. The art is nice. Janet was amazing, great vibes and great service. I think I tried about 5 or 6 and im a sweet wine drinker. Usually I go wine tasting for the vibes but everything she recommended was really good. I would definitely recommend coming here and I'll be back. read more

I love the cheese snacks. I order a bbq ribs kinda cold when it serve to me or it jst serve cold. I like the service when I look for a good wine. The ambience are nice. You can sit outside and drink your wine and eat your cheese. You can bring your 4 paws too? The atmosphere are so cool. Sitting underneath by the tree. It's very nice for a group of ppl too read more
