It is so hard nowadays to find ethical mechanics since auto repair seems to be a very competitive business and I have been previously taken advantage of by dishonest mechanics including faulty repair work. I had a great experience. I came for an oil change because of their good reviews and affordable pricing. I ended up needing other work done on my car as well. Adel was very patient with me and took a good amount of time to explain things to me and answer my numerous questions. I wasn't familiar with the faulty part in my car, so Adel even took the extra time to show me the part after replacing it and he explained how it was impacting my car. Dealerships often inspect your car and give you a huge list of unnecessary work they could potentially do on your car and are clearly trying to get as much money as possible out of you. This is a family owned business. Adel and the rest of the crew here are AMAZING! When I first went to them I was nervous because I don't know much about car and I was afraid of being taken advantage of. However, I have had my car serviced 4-5 times (issues and oil changes) at this place and I can tell that they're knowledge, honest, and upfront. I trust them! They always provide me with great customer service. Yesterday I had an issue with the battery in my car. They were able to identify the issue and fixed it in less than an hour for a very reasonable price. How can that be beat? I will continue to be a loyal customer for V-Tech. Do not have this shop repair your automobile. They do not know what they are doing, good at making up story, charges pretty high without any basis, can't provide proof/photo of what they are claiming is the issue with your car. If I could provide a negative rating, I will but yelp only allow one star at the lowest rating. Adel is the mechanic you can never trust. Go find another shop if you don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money for a simple fix. They claim they can do it but they can't. So I waited about 18 months to do this review mostly because I kept forgetting. Had the engine replaced in our Honda Pilot. Since then we moved out of state. That said, problems with the "new" engine started 8 months after havit it replaced. I was assured the engine had 40K miles on it. However, ALL of the problems we have been having with the engine are related to an old engine. Oil leaks from multiple locations. Pullys and tensioners needing replacement. Our original engine had 130K on it and had half the problems that our "new" engine has. Apparently pulled engines come with info stating the mileage and certification. This engine did not have any of that. We took it to a dealer to see if they could tell us how many miles it had on it but they could not tell. But in their opinion, this engine had WAY more miles given all of the problems. $5K down the drain. Dont go here. read more

My car kept having issues even with taking my car to their shop multiple times and they charged me a lot of money each visit, and they also said I should change my car. The last time I was there the guy did not honestly tell me what the check engine light was due to. I took it to two other shops and they diagnosed it and proved it exactly same. I finally took it another shop and they fixed my car for a fair price. Now my car runs so smoothly and now I don't need to change my car. I don't recommend this place! read more

All within an hour 50 of arriving I was out the door to get to class, and the pricing was very fair. They are thorough and honest about what is necessary, what can wait and educating customers so that they can better maintain their cars. Clearly years of experience with a variety of vehicles and happy to explain in depth the purpose and care for different parts of the car, I was at almost zero brake pads and I feel much safer driving my (new to me) car now that they checked it out. My Civic was missing a lug nut and they offered and found an extra one for me without me asking and free of charge. My BMW started being weaker so I took it to this guy. I kinda knew what it needed but I wanted an expert opinion. Took it there and the mechanic (also the owner) started testing the car.first told me it needed parts that would cost $350 (fuel injection). Left the car for 3 days and when came back he to pick it up he told me it needed $1700!!!!! I told him I don't have that much money and if you've told me before I would've not fixed so I told him to put everything back but he started screaming and cussing out I felt very threatened..ended up filing a law suit..obviously I highly don't recommend this place. read more

I mixed this auto shop up with the same V-Tech Auto name in Irvine. This is not the same or affliated in any way. The owner is Libonese and is very nice. However, I was NOT pleased that he didn't use genuine Honda parts on my breaks, which was what I had requested and thought that's what I was getting billed for. I found this out by taking my car to another mechanic, when I keep hearing noise from the new pads installed. V-Tech told me my car needs to be driven for a couple hundred miles to break in the new pads, for the noise to go away - which is total BS if he had used geniune parts. Needless to say, I'm not going back to V-Tech in Lake Forest. I'm very disappointed. read more

BEWARE! They put a cheap part instead of what I paid. It was found out by another mechanic. I went back there today because it's still under warranty....but he REFUSED to honor the warranty.
