V Wine Room is one of the most charming places to have a glass of wine with a group of friends in West Hollywood and a wonderful spot for a date. The inside is cosy and casual, and it's a bit romantic. There's usually a nice buzz of people in the late afternoon. This intimate bar first opened in West Hollywood in 2013. The entrance is on the side of a beautiful historic Hollywood Spanish Gothic style building on Westbourne Drive, off Santa Monica Boulevard. You could almost miss it from the street as it's kind of hidden which is definitely part of its charm. About a century ago it was a studio for silent film star Charlie Chaplin and later a library for Sherman, which was the name of West Hollywood before it was incorporated. So this is a beautiful and historic location with a fascinating history, V Wine Room serves about 30 different wines by the glass and a large selection by the bottle, mostly small California wineries from the Napa Valley. The menu also features sparkling wines, natural wines and sakes from small Japanese producers. They have food to accompany the drinks as well: delicious Roman-style pizzas, cheese boards and charcuterie, fish and even chocolate. I've always managed to find free parking on side streets just up the street like on West Knoll for a couple hours, but there's also valet parking right in front and a city parking lot about a block west

Food/Drinks: 5/5 V was such a treat to cap off a celebration night! The champagne was stellar and the chocolate was OUT OF THIS WORLD delicious. Service: 5/5 Whoever is the hiring manager here knows what they are doing. The staff were so friendly and really made some great recommendations for us on their wines! Environment: 5/5 Very cool artwork and great music. Also a photo booth which was an absolute must to bring home some memories.

Wanted to grab a glass of wine and see the Hollywood area. This place was cute and cozy with a long list of delicious wines. Little pricey for our family but it was a vibe.

Came here on a Saturday around 5:45 and got the 7-piece charcuterie board with 5 cheeses and 2 meats for $48. We also got the 3 half-glass wine flight for $35. We were able to be seated without issue since it was just two of us, but we noticed that around 6:30, things started filling up, and it seemed like only people with reservations or parties under two would be able to be seated quickly. So if you're coming during peak hours or in a larger group, definitely make a reservation! Our servers were very friendly and helpful. Everything we had was amazing, though in hindsight, we would have preferred to have 4 cheese and 3 meats for a better balance. They were kind enough to refill our crackers when we ran out. This was a classy, intimate find, and we will definitely be back!

    Wine we want to return!

Ask the Community - V Wine Room

    Is there parking?

There is metered parking on Westbourne Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard. There is also a parking garage located at 901 Hancock Avenue that has a flat rate of $8 on weekdays and $10 on weekends after 6pm.

Do you have any CA wine options or are they all imported?

We aim to have 30% to 50% of our stocked wine from California.

    Is this place quiet?

Depends when you go I suppose but the two times I visited (Friday night, Saturday afternoon) it was pretty low key. Good place for a date!

Can't believe how fast they were and what great care they put into the food. I'm not a coffee snob or expert in any way, but this is the best iced latte I've ever had! Great presentation, too! We had the Saffron Rice Bites and Rigatoni Bolognese, and both dishes were great! The Saffron Rice Bites had ahi tuna, spicy mayo, avocado, jalapeño, and smoked trout roe. The highlight was definitely the crispy saffron rice underneath, which had a perfect crunch that complemented the fresh ingredients. Each bite was a delightful mix of flavors and textures, making it a standout dish. As for the Rigatoni Bolognese, it was a hearty and rich option made with grass-fed beef and topped with grated Parmigiano Reggiano; we asked for extra cheese. We dove into it so quickly that I forgot to snap a photo! The flavors were robust and comforting, making it an ideal choice for a chilly day. Speaking of the weather, the staff was incredibly attentive. When we mentioned feeling a bit cold, they promptly switched out a propane tank to make sure we were cozy. It was very thoughtful.

Funnily enough, The Infatuation, of all resources, ranked this spot as the top gay bar among the twenty currently in business in WeHo. It's conveniently located a couple of blocks from Hamburger Mary's where we had reservations for the drag show. I know what you're thinking. So predictable. Anyway, we had time for a round before the show. The big black door did not give us an indication of what was inside, but the 1970's art deco font of the bar name did. Inside it felt more like a Studio 54-era lounge with a big rectangular bar in the middle. However, the owners managed to avert tackiness and provide comfy plushness. The period artwork, gray banquettes, and massive amoeba-shaped chandeliers add to the sophisticated ambiance. This was definitely not the typical WeHo club west of La Cienega. There's no dance floor, so you won't hear clunky platform shoes on a rainbow florescent floor. However, you'll likely hear classic Donna Summer or Earth, Wind & Fire wafting through the space. With their black, open-collar shirts and untied sequin bow ties, the bartenders were cute and attentive. I also didn't know they have a rotating menu with different chefs, so when I came in craving for something like steak frites and find out the don't have it even though their sample menu lists it on their website, it kind of throws my mood a little.
