This place should be happy I did not call the cops on what was done today. My mother came to get her nails done, mind you travel distance is 1 hour to get there. I got my nails done today too but I'll get there later. Because my mother told Tina to make each nail the same shape and size because Tina wasn't able to make them the same, Tina got out of her seat and walked into my mothers face and started screaming all up in my mother face "NEVER COME HERE EVER AGAIN, NEVER MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH ME EVER AGAIN, GET OUT OF HERE" Tina threw everything at the table and took her face mask off almost hitting my mother with the material My mom was sitting there in complete shock.. the whole salon was staring at my mother, the women next to my mom asked if she was alright. She didn't even come to apologize to me..Tom the manager saw what was going on and quickly took over and was apologizing for what Tina done and said. Tina was mine and my moms nail tech lady today. The first time I came to her everything was great. But the second time... I cannot believe she is still working there with what she did today, after what she done they should FIRE HER. My mom was getting SNS nails done, Tina did not even try to see if each finger had the same nail size and shape, she did not even care if they were or were not. All of this happened because my mother told her if she can do each nail the same because they are all different, we are paying money for this and should get the best out of it. Tina was also making the powder too far from the cuticle and it's more in the middle, that also angered Tina when my mom brought it up. Now to my appointment. When I came in, I had to play musical chairs from each table. I had fools on my fingers and had to pick up the basket of colors, my purse with the basket, and my other belongings to the other chair. I was getting frustrated at that point because they didn't even care to help me. Also when I walked in I wasn't even give SNS colors to look at when I asked. The women after me that came in and asked she received the colors I was sitting there in confusion. So I finally chose colors and 25 minutes later after my appointment I was finally taken care of. The other situation that arises was the $2 per finger if you choose to do a different color on a finger.. like what the actual F***???? I've been to MANY salons in Brooklyn and manhattan, and was NEVER charged extra money all because I wanted two different colors (8 fingers solid and 2 fingers glitter) in EVERY other salon that's ALWAYS FREEEE. When I was told that I was like no thank you. Not because I'm cheap but because this is just stupidity and them making money off of people. The color of the SNS was nice. But as she was cleaning my cuticles because I told her I didn't want the glitter because they shouldn't be charging for that she was cutting my cuticles out of anger to a point she made two of my fingers bleed. I put that aside and tried to stay positive because the first time I came here it was great. As she was filing my nails they weren't even coffin lol. She didn't check each finger to see if same size and shape. I didn't even want to say anything anymore after what happened. My nails besides my mothers are all different length and shape I had to come home and fix them for what I paid for. Tina is very careless, she lost 3 clients today. We are never coming back here again. I don't recommend anyone seeing her. They should be happy my mom didn't call the police. read more

I decided to give this place a try last week after a lovely massage at my favorite nearby spa.... I opted for the $34 gel manicure and a pedicure (no gel). The staff is very nice but slightly too pushy on trying to get you to purchase more expensive packages. Nevertheless, they sat me down for my pedicure first and offered me something to drink right away and by the time I was done, I'd had 2 green teas. I was happy with the way both my manicure and pedicure turned out but one of my thumbnails broke just a few days later. Also, in my experience in getting gel manicures elsewhere, you're able to leave right away and not have to sit and wait for your nails to dry. I'm not such a patient person when it comes to that, which is why I like getting GEL manicures. The woman that did my nails had me dry my nails under the UV light for an extra 7 minutes after she was done putting the gel on. Granted, she did give me a back/shoulder massage while I waited. They have TONS of gel colors to choose from as well as regular nail polish. I'd give them another try based on the experience and their cleanliness alone. V2 is cool! read more

This is my new go to place for nails and wax, the staff is friendly even if there is a language barrier they try their best to accommodate everyone. It's so clean and I love how they do the pedicure and give everyone individual tools, they are constantly cleaning up which shows. The husband and wife are great owners and sometimes when busy they be doing nails too. They do waxing in the back rooms and it's kept clean and organized. Out of all the nails salons on fifth, this one became my favorite. Give it a try! read more

Horrible place. The manager is nice and does a great job. Funny story,he always charges me $30 for dip powder and to do 2 new nails. I go today and coincidentally since he is off this lady somehow made up a price In her head. Tried to charge me $38 for the same service. I told her I always pay $30 and to call her manager to verify. Clearly didn't because she was making this price up. This salon is great! I scoped it out on Yelp and decided to go based on the other reviews. Then this morning it snowed out of nowhere. Because the place is several blocks (walking) from where I live, I considered going to another salon that's closer. So glad I still went to V2 anyway. They were friendly, clean, comfortable, and the prices are great. They even have a wide selection of the top-brands of polish like OPI and Essie. The foot massage included with the pedicure was so relaxing. As long as I live in Bay Ridge, I will continue going to this salon. read more

I LOVE this place! i have been going here for 2 years and have never been disappointed! even their basic pedicure seems like a spa pedicure. I like that they wrap your feet while they polish them with saran wrap with a purple solution that makes them so incredibly soft. They are so thorough in getting off dead skin. I love that they have big flat screen TV's and the place is super clean and modern. They all speak english and they dont gossip about you. read more

Straightforward, no nonsense, don't expect to chat, but he will do a good job. While I was there two other women came in requesting him, so he clearly has regular clients. Despite the reviews I decided to try this place out. It's conveniently on 86th street. The woman was very aggressive when she was buffering my nails. To the point that I Was bleeding and she didn't stop. She looked at me confused. I told her that she made me bleed and she didn't even care. Then asked me if I spoke to chinese while the rest of the staff said I didn't know what I was talking about. Why does it matter if I speak chinese or not? You made me bleed and stared at me like I had three heads. Clearly this place doesn't care about listening to their customers. They're trying to make their cash with one time customers. I've been here often and the quality has severely gone down the drain. My mom has gotten nail infections TWICE in the past six months since we started coming here regularly. She has never had a nail infection in her life and this was the only salon we went to to get our nails done. We were recently getting pedicures and the nail tech took a buffer from the woman sitting next to my mom and started using it on my mom!!!! That is not sanitary! That is what causes infections! Many times that I've been here, I've had to tell my own nail tech (all different ones) that they are hurting me, and they don't understand. It's aggressive buffing, cutting too close to the cuticle and basically hitting and slapping my back calling it a "massage". They're just not paying attention because they're talking to their friends. This used to be my go-to neighborhood nail salon, but after my mom's second nail infection and lack of quality we will not be back. read more

Second time coming to this salon. First time was good, I was happy with the way my nails were shaped and painted. My technician who is actually the manager did my nails. I was glad to see him taking his time and making sure my nails were perfect. My second visit started out a little stressful, reason for the four stars, I called ahead to make an appointment...I wanted an actual appointment because I had other errands to run that day. Well I didn't even get taken for my appointment until 30 minutes later so I had to end up leaving otherwise I would be late picking up my husband. So I told the manager I would come back. I made another appointment for 4pm and still don't get seen again for another 30 minutes. Since I wasn't in a hurry to go anywhere after I patiently sat and waiting. Once the service started everything was great. They even threw in a free five minute foot rub so I think I will change this rating to five stars. Ps I'm still having my service done right now. This is the best nail salon in Bay Ridge!! Every single staff member is so friendly, welcoming, and talented. As soon as you walk in they ask you if you want to put your belongings in a basket and they keep it by your side. They then ask you if you would like a beverage. Everything is brand new and clean. Go elsewhere. I've only had one positive experience here. This is my fourth and last time here. I am never welcomed it's as if they rather I go elsewhere. Today I came with my daughter. She was seated first while I picked color. I sat down and someone else was seated and they never assigned her someone. I've given these guys so many chances because of their proximity to my home that it borders on insanity. Went today for a gel manicure, was told 15 minute wait by Tom, the owner/manager. Yes, in 15 minutes he had me seated and in 25 he had my already gel'ed nails wrapped in acetone to begin the removal process. He then left me sitting there for another 35 minutes, meaning I waited for a solid hour for my manicure to begin. The woman who did my nails did a meh job because she probably felt rushed by the fact that these people never give customers actual wait times or turn anyone away (which, I get. Business is business). But all I can say is that the manicure I got was not worth $25. After the wait and manicure, my nails are now different lengths, the coating bumpy and patchy on a few nails. It's so irritating. V2 has the capacity to do great things, but they've definitely lost my business at this point. read more

I had the pleasure if getting my nails done by Yidan (hope i spelt it right). And she did my coffin nails perfectly!!! I am beyond excited. It is spacious, clean, well-lit, and has a TV on for viewing.0 Massage allows choice of chair or bed. There is a separate area for waxing and facials. V2 Nail and Spa has a comfortable, large bathroom offering ample space for handicapped access and use. Depending on time, street parking is available but there is a municipal garage a couple blocks away. I wanted a new set and a pedicure. I was the 3rd person to walk in after they opened. I was passed around 4 different people and to keep repeating what I wanted, all the while they were suggesting I try gel powder which I did not want. The pedicure was ok except the polish job was not what I asked for either. The 4th and final lady who did my nails made them way to wide and unnatural looking. By the time I was done it had been 3.5 hours for both a new set and a pedicure. I have been getting these services for years and never has it taken that long. I used to love this place and now I'm fed up. I get the same girl named Fang, and every time I decide to be compassionate and give her another chance. Not only does she rush and do the sloppiest job ever but she is absolutely rude, burned my legs, and before I even get settled in she started cutting my toe nails and just rushed me out overall. A pedicure is supposed to be relaxing, she got me in and out in 10 minutes. Tonight was the first time I had been to V2. I went in with no expectations and left knowing this will be my regular nail salon. It is very modern, the employees were friendly and did excellent work. As I sat for the pedicure I was offered green tea or water, they give a 5 minute massage with a regular pedicure which includes hot stones, and after the manicure I was also given a complimentary neck massage. Great craftsmanship, extremely poor service. I first visited V2 nails two weeks ago after looking for a new go-to nail spot. When I arrived no one greeted me or asked what I wanted to have done. I asked a nail tech that was watching a movie on her phone for a mani and pedi and she seemed annoyed that I interrupted her and went on to speak with her colleague before telling me to have a seat. I was really satisfied with my pedicure and the massage that came with it so I decided to give this place another try. Today I called to ask at what time they closed considering that it's a holiday. They said they closed at 6pm and that I could just walk in. 15 minutes later I show up and they say they can't serve me because they were closing at 6pm, mind you it was 5pm and they had a ton of empty seats and staff sitting around. When I gave them the name of the employee I spoke to on the phone they got angry and rudely responded that no one by that name works there. What a joke of place. I ended up walking in to Angel Gift Nail salon about 2 blocks away, excellent service, and the staff actually looks like they want to be there. V2 should take some notes. read more
