I went to this place to get my nails done for my prom and my visit wasn't the best. Off the bat they had very poor treatment towards my friends and I when we came in. The woman who was doing my nails had asked me if I speak Chinese or understood it, I told her I didn't but I could still understand a little. After, with the little understanding that I had, could tell she was talking crap about me. I only wanted a French manicure but she pushed the under of my nail so much that it hurt for a good week after. I have waited a little while before writing a review on these folks. So here it goes. This salon is a nice, neat, clean place that does mostly reliable services. They get 3 stars from me - because what I have gathered over multiple visits is that - the level of service/attention you get relates directly to how much money you are spending here. I don't always get the same services - sometimes I want to be pampered and sometimes I just need some new polish on my nails. What I have noticed (over many visits here) is the more you spend - the better service you get. If you come in and get gel/SNS and a spa pedicure - you're taken good care of, offered water/coffee/tea, given the extra massage while your nails are drying, etc. If you come in for one of their posted specials - and don't opt to upgrade to a more expensive service - the nail techs work with a chip on their shoulder, like they could be doing something else. I highly do not recommend anyone ask for a basic pedicure/manicure - as with these basic services you are treated like a third rate client. You get the worst/inexperienced tech and it is just not nice at all. One time I came in for a regular pedi/mani for a friends wedding (my natural nails were fine and I just wanted to neaten them up for the celebration) - I was left on the pedi chair for the tech to start my manicure because all the stations were being "saved" for clients getting SNS manicures which cost more money. read more

I've been coming to V2 for over half a year now for dip powder manis and pedicures. I never knew about dip powder until I came here and now I'm hooked! It's gorgeous, lasts forever, and never chips or breaks! I've had many of the ladies here do nails before (including Tina, Fang, Alinda) and they've all been great. There's only been only technician that I wasn't happy with but I haven't seen her in a while so I'm not sure if she even works there anymore. Most recently I had Lily do my dip powder and she was so sweet and thorough and did an amazing job! She took her time to clean, groom, and shape each nail until it was totally perfect! The simple fact that they placed a half glove on my hands to protect my skin from the gel UV light shows that they care for details. My nails were in terrible condition and the quality of May's work left my hands feeling beautiful. The royal red #109 choice was great as well! The massage was a nice touch. I planned on going to the salon across the street which I like partly because of the plastic lining in the pedicure chairs. For some reason they were classed so my friend and I had to find a new place and ended up here. I love how nicely the interior is decorated and how they all wear matching purple shirts. This salon is absolutely spotless AND has the plastic lining in the bowls of the pedicure chairs - very important! The chairs have an amazing variety of massage settings. I was asked if I wanted the spa pedicure, which I declined, but partway through the pedicure I wondered if she misunderstood because this was the most spa-like pedicure I've ever gotten. Complete with massage, hot stones, scrub, and a heel treatment. It was amazing. The manicure was also good and as soon as we sat in the drying chairs we each got a little 10 second massage. This place is amazing. I recommend calling ahead and making an appointment like I did because they were so busy when I came. A friend recommended I go to V2 and try their SNS nail polish. Which is $30 (gel is $25 there) and lasts 3-4 weeks maybe even more. Which is better than gel as it's healthier and lasts longer for $5 more! I was in a rush since I assumed sns would be the same process as gel but it's a longer process so be prepared to be there a while. Especially if you're getting the sns removed first. Even though I was in a rush, Nicky understood and worked like the wind and was still very diligent and made sure my nails were perfect. I'll update on how long the sns lasts but the girls I've met at the salon swear by it! Update! Since then Nicky has left so I've been seeing different ladies every time I go and I can say every thing lady who works at V2 works very hard and is very skilled! read more

I never felt so uncomfortable in a nail spa in my life. The atmosphere is really nice- clean, bright. However the staff? They act like it's a big hangout! A guy was doing my manicure pedicure and he was turning around and looking at the TV while doing my feet... Literally not even looking at what he was doing. Other workers were eating, doing each other's make up and on the phone. Then one of the workers, who was wearing a sweater and leggings instead of the uniform everyone else had, came over and started a conversation with the pedicurist. He got so involved he wasn't even looking at what he was doing and actually stopped all together because he was so engaged with talking to her. He rushed through the rest of the pedicure and slopped on my polish. I was really uncomfortable. I've gone for so many nail spas and never had such a cold and terrible experience but I said I was doing a manicure pedicure so I didn't want to just leave. He started the manicure and let out a deep sigh over my hands. He was looking around and not paying attention to what he was doing, again. And then, I hit the breaking point. The pedicurist was roughly using the cuticle pusher on me to the point that it hurt a little then he started scraping old nail polish off my nail using it!! My nails are very thin and that not only damaging for me, it hurts a lot! I wanted to leave. He was still looking around while carelessly buffing my nails when I decided I had to leave. I let him know I was uncomfortable because he wasn't looking at me or what he was doing. He was very upset that I was leaving and insisted on me letting him finish before literally snatching my credit card from me. Then there were three people playing with my card for a few minutes before I walked over and the transaction was quickly completed... It's a shame because the place has a lot of potential. Great experience at this salon, after several not-so-great experiences around Bay Ridge! The staff is very attentive and friendly, the salon is sparkling clean and inviting. They did an excellent job with my pedicure and my SNS nails are flawless! Cool fun fact - they have EVERY single color SNS has released - that's over 400 colors! The ladies there said because they feel it's important for their customers to have choices. I agree and I love it! Since that selection can get pretty overwhelming they will tailor the colors down to what you have in mind - so when I said I liked nude colors they brought me just the selection of soft pinks and nudes. Very helpful and made my experience very enjoyable! Highly recommend it, oh and if you're coming on a weekend it would be best to make an appointment - they were packed the entire time I was there but they were managing it very well! read more

Tried it out since I was in the area..the salon is SPOTLESS, very neat and modern spa feel despite so many people working there...massage chairs for pedicure are very customizable;; Don't know her name but I had the lady in 6th chair from the door...pedicure was full 5 stars but manicure was a solid 4 so I gave the 4 overall. Absolutely LOVED the way Lily did my very first SNS set. I was very religious with my previous mail salon (vivi nails in park slope) however let's be real.. Paying 69 bucks for acrylic gel and a regular pedicure every two weeks got ridiculous after a while, especially when I had my last set of acrylic gel done and it chip after just 4 days. My cousin recommended this place to me and although a lot further than my old nail spot, I fell in love. SNS for those who haven't done it is very lengthy but so worth it when it's done. Lily was super sweet and kept our session very interactive! They have so many colors to choose from and the actual salon is beautiful. Ive finally found a place in Bay Ridge where I love the pedicures! I love the lady who does my nails elsewhere but the pedicures there are terrible and Ive been on the hunt for somewhere better in Bay Ridge for quiet some time. First of all I will just start by saying that they put plastic wrap around the tub for sanitary purposes. Thats a major plus to me. They also use a brand new nail file kit for each person, which is also awesome for sanitary purposes. So right there we are starting off on a good note. A regular pedicure is $18 but for $2 more they will throw in a 10 minute massage. The massage was really nice and they do time is so you know that you are getting 10 minutes. After they massage your feet they rub hot stones on your legs and give you a heal treatment. In total for $20 this is only a few more dollars than a regular pedicure anywhere else and totally worth the price! I have felt completely short changed other places with barely getting a massage. I definitely recommend! Disclaimer: I have tried to get my nails done here (acrylic fill-in) as was not too thrilled. I'd only stick to pedicures!! read more

I really really really hate leaving this review and I want to disclaimer this by saying I have done a lot of research before writing this review. I went to V2 with a friend and got a pedicure and full tip set with UV gel coat (or so I thought). The pedicure was mediocre. Basic soak, scrub, cuticle cutting and nail polish. The tip set looked amazing once it was done. The shape was exactly what I wanted and the color and design were great. As he was applying the "gel" I knew something was off. I'm not a stranger to acrylic nails and this is exactly what was being applied, powder dipped in some foul smelling solution and painted on with a brush. I asked him and he reassured me it was gel bc the smell was different. I had never had the UV gel overlay so I was like ok then, continue. Fast forward to 2 weeks later and I go to get my fill at a different salon and the lady tells me this is not gel, its acrylic. She pulled out what the UV gel coat actually looks like and it was nothing like what the guy at V2 used. I'm furious that this place would try to pass off acrylic as UV gel when UV gel is far more superior. Now that I know the difference this mistake will not happen again. And shame on V2 for doing this. Now I'm stuck these shitty nails until they fall off, grow out or until I pry them off. V2 nails, you suck! read more
