I've been having my Hondas serviced here since 2008. Over that time, I've occasionally tried nearby Honda dealers' service departments because of coupons they offered. Not worth it. I now only patronize Vacaville Honda's service department. Service advisor, Steven Reynolds, is the absolute best. He does everything possible to ensure that customers are confident that their concerns are heard and addressed with care and diligence. He works closely with the mechanics and parts dept to ensure that everyone is on the same page. And, importantly, he doesn't up-sell. This place cannot be trusted, their service advisors or mechanics. I had 2 diagnoses completed. They could not figure out what was wrong with my ac, after bringing my car to them 2 times, then said "they think the entire ac system needs to be replaced." The 2nd thing was a warranty they could have followed up on with Honda corporate but said that's not something they don't do. But I did buy the car from this dealership & they can take your money, but when providing service & an actual diagnosis with proof, that's to much work. I will never buy from this dealership or go back to this service department. I recommend staying away from this awful business. read more

Terrible experience with the Honda dealership in Vacaville. After a recall repair on my 2019 HR-V, I had to bring my car back twice due to their repeated mistakes. Eventually, because of their error with the fuel sensor, my car died on a dangerous two-lane road. I lost work time, went days without my car, and they were slow to provide a rental. To make it worse, their mechanic scratched my driver's side door, and when I picked it up, the repair to the paint chip was still inadequate. They are working on repairing the damage they caused my car (I have yet to see how that will turn out). Despite all of this, they (the deal ship manager Robby) refused to offer fair compensation and barely listened to my concerns. Serious safety issues, poor communication, and no accountability. I would not trust them with my car again and will never go back. read more

This was my third time in 3 years with an issue with maintenance. First, my start was bad but they couldn't tell me why. Second, was within the last 12 months. I took my car in for 2 things, torque converter which was under warranty and the 100k. Somewhere in between my battery died and I popp d the hood, nothing was connected with my intake(stock). They blamed me. This last time my wheel well panel came off while driving. They didn't install a new panel correct and I had to bring it back. Sadly, I had to show the master tech what his tech did wrong. Even worse, management couldn't be bothered to give me a call even after I left the voice mail on their machine, they passed it off to the best customer service rep known to man. I bought my mini van from this place 2 years later I called to schedule a car detailed cleaned! I was told on the phone 200 then when I showed up to my apt first they couldn't find my name. Then they told me $359 because it was a mini van and yes my car was a mess reason I need it detailed... Guy calls me 2 hrs later saying because of the condition of my car they could not clean it! (I had chips, gold fish, probably melted chocolate in seats) most of it was food... anyway I took my car down to 5 star car wash by home depot! Those guys charged me $68 did a quick vaccum and cleaned my windows and I gotta say they did fantastic job! Needless to say Honda has lost a customer! I have bought 2 cars from there and mm def not buying from that place or in fact getting anything from there! I told my husband if I should stop by Monday and show them what 5 star car wash did that they claimed it was too messy to get job done! I was so surprised when I compared the price of replacing my car key battery with Battery and Bulbs! The Honda staff and parts personnel were so nice and hardly charged me anything and I really appreciate that because I've avoided Honda for a few years ever since I had a private mechanic look at my fairly new brakes at the time, and was told (and shown) that there were old brake parts never removed! My mechanic said that I should go back to Honda and have them redo the brakes with all new parts. However, due to other reasons I had no trust in Honda so I paid my mechanic to do another brake job. I did go to Honda to speak to someone at the front desk, however, he was dealing with a very upset man complaining about the same sort of experience with a different area of his car. These were serious, dangerous issues so I hope they've since removed the crooked mechanic who was responsible. read more

My air conditioning unit was blowing hot air so I took it in and this is the email I got: We were able to get a look at your vehicle and found out what the issue is with the A/C system. It appears that the compressor did seize which caused metal to be spread throughout the system. Due to the compressor seizing you will end up needing a whole new system. Due to a new system being needed we wouldn't be able to complete it today. We could start it today but would not finish until tomorrow at the end of the day. The total cost of repairs is $7,251.06 after tax. I know you do not live in town so if you wanted to rent a vehicle then we could put a "rental credit" of $200.00 on the bill to offset the cost for it. So my local non-dealer repair guy told me today I would need an oxygen and liquid flush and new compressor for a total of $2850. I don't think I need to say more about this dealership and their highly unethical behaviors. You are warned!! That's downright highway robbery!!! Not sure if that's just the representative, Dominic, or the entire service department but I ain't sticking around to find out!!!! And they charged $270 to give me this swindling diagnosis! read more

Tried to go sell a car and had some expectations of the value of my car already with some offers from other dealership and was shopping around due to other dealerships trying to lowball me and add extras I didn't want. The saleswoman that greeted me told me they weren't going to do any better before I even walked into the door. Which I was okay with if since they insisted, I decided to cut my losses and move on instead of waste my time. But the saleswoman proceeded to try to get me to come inside. I didn't want to after that first 5 minutes but agreed. As I walked in she asked for my registration which was a first for me as other dealerships ask for only VIN and Make and Miles to start, but she demanded it. The universe heard I was looking for a new car and my current suv broke down a week later. I scheduled an apt with Adrienne to run our credit and give us our best options. I was concerned because we didn't have the best credit, we weren't planning on purchasing a car so we really didn't plan to spend on a down payment but I needed a reliable car. Before looking at any cars we sat down and discussed what I wanted. I mentioned my wants may not be realistic so hopefully she can just get me a car. In all honesty I wasn't really expecting to walk out of there with anything. I wanted to hear all the bad news and come back when we had better options. Not only did Adrienne deliver, but she gave me my wants plus more. We walked out of there with a better deal than what we were expecting. I jokingly told her to throw in another car, that's how good the deal was. I cried then; I'm crying right now writing this compliment. I appreciate her knowledge and kindness. She's truly a blessing. She talked with us and made us feel like we were catching up with an old friend. The dealership was busy for a Friday but we didn't feel rushed and it also didn't feel like we were there forever. Everyone in the building was super nice. We took our daughter and they offered her snacks and things to color. She was so well behaved. For the past 8 months, every time I have lost a part or broken something while racing all three of my Civics, they have always been there to assist me in getting the right part. There have been times when I was unable to identify a part, but they were able to figure it out and procure it. Eamonn and Eric at Vacaville Honda make sure that their customers receive the right parts. If the GM is reading this, I suggest giving these two a medal for being awesome. My story: 4 Months ago the transmission on my 2020 Pilot went out on the top of the Grapevine , with my wife , 3 young kids and myself stranded for hours . Got it back to Vacaville and they did a flush , said it was fine . I was very nervous since the warranty expired at 100,000 miles . Fast Forward 4 months ( at 95000 miles ) it started Giving me problems again . I emailed Jennifer on Tuesday asking for help , I thought it would be a huge ordeal . Nope ! Early in 2023 we replaced our aging 2007 Odyssey with a brand new 2023 Odyssey. When we looked at this dealership, the closest dealer to our home, they essentially had little to pick from, presumably due to supply chain disruptions. We finally ended up in east Sacramento where they had a dozen Odysseys to choose from. We had shopped at several dealers and all of them told us that 2 years of routine preventive maintenance was included with every new Honda. In fact we were very clear that Honda offered this service because it was mentioned in Honda advertising. When our first service interval was signaled by the built-in Maintenance Minder at about 7400 miles, I first called Vacaville Honda because I didn't want to drive back to east Sacramento and because our selling dealer had told us that the free 2-year routine maintenance could be done at any dealer. I called Vacaville Honda, told them what I was calling about and was told that, no, they did not honor any such service agreement unless we bought the car at Vacaville Honda. So I went online and booked a same-day appointment for Express Service at out selling dealer in east Sacramento. I might have actually saved time because when I arrived, they took my Odyssey in immediately at the appointment time and I was out of there in less than an hour with an oil change and a tire rotation plus a car wash, all for exactly zero $$$. What I don't understand is that Vacaville Honda had a perfect opportunity to win me over as a customer who lives close by for the cost of a couple of oil changes and tire rotations over two years. Instead, their short-sightedness makes me wonder if I need ever consider going back there in the future. read more

Check out the several pages of 1-star reviews which are not being reported in their average rating!! Yikes... Believe the hype! Fortunately, I didn't fall for the okey-doke. Called for an appointment to fix the locking mechanism on passenger door. Phone rep couldn't provide an estimate of repair, no problem. We show up to leave our vehicle and are THEN told that it will cost $400 to simply DIAGNOSE the problem, lolol. Stop it, for real, haha?? First, they could have told me OVER THE PHONE about the $400 diagnosis charge. Second, according to Google, the repair itself would cost between $200 - $500 which we were expecting to spend... but you're telling me it might be $1000 to diagnose & fix a door lock??!! Uumm, no. Their tactic of "Bring your car in" so they can pressure you with silly add-on charges that no one mentioned beforehand... and then they use that whole "Well, you're already here" or "We can have it done in an hour" so you start weighing the convenience of just being done with it = that's slimy on their part and takes advantage of people. read more

Larry has always been wonderful to work with . Our family have purchased cars with him on many occasions. The most recent cash purchase was by our son and Larry was just an informative and helpful as ever. I took a point away because whoever they had detail the car after purchase needs to be taught how to properly detail a vehicle. It was ran through the car wash and then had soap residue that my son had to get off the car and windows himself. No door jams got cleaned and floors aren't vacuumed. I'm guessing nothing was wiped down properly if at all either . Let alone no possibility of it being waxed etc . Very unprofessional and disappointing to have that be considered detailed. read more

Kudos to Finance Manager Adrienne Schwartz. I bought an Accord in late May, 2024 and Adrienne handled the close. She's very personable, including listening well. Good sense of humor and well-organized. Didn't waste any time trying to sell junk add-ons. She had excellent insights on the various warranties, including prepaid maintenance. Her explanation of the cost-benefit on the statutory catalytic converter protection was also real helpful. She was definitely an asset in the sale process. The only reason for 4 stars, and not 5, was an error on the credit app that had nothing to do w/ the price, terms or the vehicle. It's entirely possible that someone else at the store made the mistake. I would absolutely work again w/ Adrienne, and would carefully consider her thoughts on certain add-ons. read more

Whoever is at the desk today was extremely rude to my mom when she kindly asked what was taking so long for an oil change. On top of that we have insurance that covers the shocks and brakes (bumper to bumper warranty). I needed a new key fob and have it programmed to my car . Ordered over the phone and told be at dealership 30 minutes before they close and they would help me. Went today and 2 guys in parts department were great , so accommodating, the cashier on the other hand was rude to them and told them to program my car was not going to happen . They actually said the customer was told it was going to happen and we will be doing that . Steven Reynolds in service was not only the nicest guy but they were able to fix my original key and I didn't pay anything. He went out of his way to provide excellent service and I would have came back if needed. I will be returning to him for my car needs. So rare to get such wonderful service. Way to go Honda. The employee who helped me was Julian. Started off by saying he doesn't want to over charge me and the only goal was to get back on the road safely as soon as they can.... Obviously a lie... Received a call from them the day after dropping it off and they told me they would only charge half of the diagnostic test since I told them what was wrong going in. The total after the diagnostic test was $1095 which was absurd for the work being done. Called good guys and got quoted for $345 for the exact same job including parts and labor. Went to pick up my car and all of a sudden I'm being charged full price for the diagnostic test. I get being upset I'm taking my car to get serviced somewhere else but damn, have some integrity. You told me something so stick to your word. EXTREMELY overpriced and just bad service. read more
