The ABS lights on the dashboard of my Jetta flashed warning of a serious problem. We had moved to Hollywood from Monrovia, so we searched for a well-rated foreign car mechanic in our current neighborhood. Well, after the Silver Lake shop charged us $800 for repairs that did not fix the ABS problem, they said to bring the car back so they could try again and the charge would be several thousand dollars. Um, no thanks. So I did what I should have done from the get-go and called Dusan who I already knew and trusted. He was busy but said to bring the car over. After spending an hour checking everything, including running codes on the computer, he gave us his assessment, which coincided with the information I had found when researching this problem on-line, and much more! Approximately half a year, I came to Dusan with 2002 VW GTI 1.8T. It had issues with rough idle, random stalling and low power from the engine. I looked him up and he was near by and had great reviews. I now see why his customer gave him great reviews. Dusan is very knowledgeable about my car. He kept my car for a couple day to do some indepth trouble shooting. Dusan cleared all the faults in the car and even did the smog check as well!! It was running GREAT now. Fast forward to recent times, i decided to remove the throttle body for a cleaning because it had a rough idle. After that, the car was displaying all weird and erratic symptoms. I took it to Dusan for him to work his magic to re-initialize the throttle body. He pretty much remembered me, I don't know how, but anyways he fixed it and now it s running just strong as before!! Come to find out I was told wrong by another mechanic shop. Dusan showed me the issued, and explained the causes. His shop was a mile from my work so I decided to bring my car to him for the 75k maintenance. Dusan provided excellent service at a low cost - all jobs followed Audi specs and everything that was performed was explained and clearly written down, including all the parts used. He provides a 1 year / 12000 mile warranty as well. Recently, I also had my brakes replaced at his shop. I am very satisfied and feel confident in my car's performance and reliability. My 10yr old VW had a really weird issue where it would randomly stall at the red light and wouldn't start again unless left alone for a while. other shops couldn't diagnose the issue. I picked him based on reviews and it was the first time going there. Indeed - what a great guy. He really spent the time to reproduce the issue, pinpointed the sensor that needed to be replaced, and then test drove the car for 30+ miles! if he didn't fix the issue he would've been stuck on the street as well. At the end of the day, he was completely confident that i'll be able to drive it home safely (which was 40+ mi away). Dusan was also honest and straight forward when it comes to recommending other work on the car. He doesn't push you and gives you honest opinions. A good and passionate mech is hard to find. Came here because my wife got a check engine light on her Jetta. I'm a teacher so I had to take a day off work to come in. His hours are M-F 9-6. I came in around 10 and he greeted me and immediately started working on the car. He brought out his computer and ran a diagnostic to see what the issue was. It was very nice of him to give me a play by play of exactly what he was doing. I was afraid I would have to come in again to get the car fixed but Dusan was very knowledgeable and was quickly able to isolate what the issue was. He was able to order the replacement part straight for the VW dealership to have it delievered to his place and promised to have it done by the end of the day. The guy was even cool enough to personally give me a ride home. That is a very stand up guy and somebody who understands the meaning of customer service. At the end of the day I left with the car all fixed up and saved myself a ton of money by not having to bring it into the dealership. When looking at reviews and seeing that Dusan has all 5 stars for all his reviews, I am not surprised whatsoever. I have worked with Dusan on my vehicles at least the last 10 years. He has worked both on my VW Jetta and 2005 BMW. I would bring him my Lexus to work on more, but the only thing that holds me back is that I currently live about 50 miles from his shop. I trust him more than anything with my vehicles. He has always been spot on with his diagnoses and never left his shop with any problems with my cars. He is very detail oriented and is very competitively priced. He has told me what the market charges on certain parts/services. Came across this place here on YELP. Saw all the great reviews so I decided to check it out. I have a 2013 Volkswagen GLI and the check engine light came on after a vacuum line came loose. I connected the vacuum line and the car ran fine after that. The check engine light stayed on though. I brought my car to Dusan, nice gentleman, just to make sure no other damage was done to my car. He hooked up his laptop to my car to see what else could be causing the CEL to be one. He confirmed everything was running fine and he cleared the check engine light. I was in and out in 10 minutes! Best part about it was it was at NO cost!!! I will definitely be coming back for future car maintenance. Bring your German cars here to get serviced. I'm sure you wont be disappointed!
