I'm always looking for good sandwich places and this is one of them. It's a small little shop just down the way from Immersion Brewing serving up big sandwiches packed with quality ingredients. I got the pastrami and, wow, I loved it. They have a great selection of sandwiches and, from checking out their social media, special sandwiches from time-to-time. If you are in Bend and craving a good sandwich, give this place a try. I'll be heading back there for sure. read more

The Hot Italian is quite possibly the best Italian sandwich I've ever had. A perfect blend of spices and vinegar, this ham and salami combo is topped with lettuce, onions, tomatoes, peperoncino, mayo, and melted cheese. Let me start of by saying, I'm really not a sandwich person. The rest of my family on the other hand, love a good sandwich. One thing we all agree on, if you are craving or have a filling, need to protein and carb up kind of meal, you need to go here. Logistics - easy to find, lots of parking, hot spot, great vibes. The menu isn't too big where you feel like some choices sound or seem like another option. Its a deli; hot or cold sandwich, drink, and cookie. But ooooh the sandwich. Every single one I've ordered thus far, AMAZING. I don't know what it is, the hoagie, the dressing, the cuts of meat, but whatever they are doing, they are doing right! Don't leave without a cookie. Its the icing on the cake. The customer service - 2nd to none. These people serve with pride, such kind hearted, all about customer service, kind of folk. Valentine's has risen to the top sandwich spot for a reason, their sandwiches are *chefs kiss* amazing! Their regular menu offers something for everyone and the rotating specials options are always worth trying. They use quality ingredients (hello Sparrow bread), get creative, are kind and welcoming AND support our community. Best Hot Italian and Cubano we've had since NYC. Drippy and full of flavor. I had a Bend cider. They also sell chips and big cookies. The only complaint I have is that they're so popular, they can't keep up with the demand. We waited right at 30 min for our two sandwiches. read more

Great little spot for some fine deli sandwiches. The Hot Italian was delish and my wife had a Turkey sandwich which she enjoyed. The one thing I also liked is that they keep their glasses with the ice in the freezer so when you pour the soda from the cold can the soda doesn't get watered down or does it warm up in the transfer to the glass read more

His has to easily be one of my favorite deli's ever. The staff are just genuinely open and friendly, welcoming and really do care about every moment of your experience in the establishment. The food is super fresh and made to order with an attention to detail that each customer should expect from the provider if their lunch. The menu is varied enough that everyone has options but not so big that you sacrifice quality. I do not typically write reviews off of one visit but I was super happy after this one that I know I will become a regular. WOWZA! I did not get pictures because we devoured these sandwiches. I have never had a better sandwich in my life, and my husband agrees! We tried the Albuquerque and the.. Peppersteak? Both were absolutely phenomenal. Flavors were spot on, ingredients were fresh and good quality. The service was great, but call it in if you can! It's easy to see why they stay busy! Helloooooo from Bend! Yes, I escaped CA just in time to go up to Oregon. Beautiful here but that's not why you're readying. Or is it? . Anyway, after a long hike went to grab a sando. I went with the Alba-score on a roll (the rolls the way to go - more bang for your buck). Service was excellent, super nice just like the folks in town. And on top of that? 5 stars! Crazy right? The sando had some good flavor but not overpowering. The roll was soft and was a good price for the size. I'd like to try more places in town but so far so good. Well done Bend. The is THE spot. The turkey avo, the ranch hand, the Albuquerque, the peppersteak--all crazy good. Great crew too. They'll customize it to your liking, make some of their own suggestions, and spice it up a little (or a lot) if you're feelin' spicy. I was so excited to try a new sandwich shop, and the reviews were promising. Unfortunately my sandwich had rotten brown lettuce(gag!) and was watery for some reason. Just passing through, on my way to Portland and I was craving a sandwich. I found this spot on Yelp and just from the photos, my mouth was immediately watering. I ordered the Albuquerque. A good example of inflation . A short time ago the sandwiches were $9, now $14! OMG! Sandwiches aren't bad. A big problem with the place, my wife and I came home smelling really bad. Our clothing stunk from the restaurant. It stank up our closet where our jackets were hanging. Poor ventilation? Greasy food? Do we want to have to wash our clothing after going there! High quality and great taste! We got a big to go order and they got it all correct, which is often a gamble when ordering about 10 sandwiches. The sandwiches were more on the expensive side, but ingredients tasted fresh and the sandwiches were a good size. My only suggestion would be to add some more sandwiches to the menu! read more

So we went in last week to give this place a try. They seemed flustered and their customer service suffered because of it. The sandwiches were good, nothing to write home about. One thing I found disappointing was they don't slice their own meat. I noticed them Unpackaging their turkey that was completely sealed as if they bought it from a grocery store. I consider sandwiches one of my favorite go-to's, but so often they're lacking. This place is killer. Starting with the bread all the way down to the sauces. We ordered two veggie sandwiches and they were very different...which can be hard to do. And both excellent. Chips were kind of stale and with limited options (one brand, a few flavors). I would be embarrassed if I was the catering company putting out this kind of food. If you're gonna put that cut of meat out, keep it whole have someone there carving it. Cutting thin slice it on the right grain so that people can eat it.The macaroni and cheese was like glorified Velveeta cheese flat in flavor they served it with a big soup scoop instead of a a normal serving spoon it all lopped up into the spoon had to tap it against the table to get it out. No seasoning very disappointing. The Server at one point seemed to be very mad cleaning up. She was rushing and pounding things against the table one of the guest said that someone should go over to her and tell her to cool it because it was very distracting. Very embarrassing representation of a company. Feel bad for the bride and groom that had to pay for this. . A writing this because sometimes owners don't see what direction their business is going in and how their staff represent them. So I hope you take this with consideration of the honest feedback. I'm giving . You need to regroup and review what you're serving.

I moved away from Bend a couple of years ago, and I still find myself dreaming about Valentine's Deli. The sandwiches? Absolutely phenomenal. The true marker of a great sandwich? You literally can't put it down. That's Valentine's. They think of everything, if you're heading out camping, they'll toast it specifically so it holds up until you're riverside and starving. Genius. And it's not just the food. The people, the energy, the whole vibe is exactly what a deli should feel like. If I still lived in Bend, I'd be there every week. Valentine's deli was a lovely deli experience! Every sandwich on the menu sounded so good but I had to try their hot Italian- perfect for a cold day. The bread was so fresh and toasted to perfection. The Italian was very veggie heavy, which I liked and set it apart from most other Italians. The deli was crowded, even for a weekday, but we were lucky enough to get a table inside.
