Yesterday, I went to Valentino's with my husband. I ordered chicken wings and salad. The person ringing me up was a young girl, couldn't be more than 20, if that. She was friendly, smiled, rang me up. She grabbed my salad out of the fridge and then walked it back to the kitchen to prepare it, but looked confused. She put her hand in olives and then stopped. Another patron came into the restaurant for a pickup and she gave her food and walked away to the kitchen again. Another patron came in for a pick up, and the lady in the back prepared the salad and then gave it to her, and she looked confused but took it anyway and walked out. I don't think that was supposed to be hers. So, I sat at the table waiting. 30ish minutes go by, and I'm guessing maybe it's the wings taking forever to cook. Other people were picking up orders...and finally, the girl emerges with my wings. I said, "And my salad?" She looked confused, started pressing buttons on the register and I said, "I ordered salad and wings. I don't need an additional salad." She smiled and said, "Oh." She takes another salad (it's just a container of lettuce) from the fridge, walks back to the kitchen again, and with NO gloves on and not washing her hands after touching the register, dipped her hand in olives, in cheese, in tomatoes. What the actual eff? Gross. She came back with the salad and instead of just telling her nevermind, I took it. And then I had to say, "Doesn't it come with dressing?" She was like, "Oh...yes. We have ranch, Caesar, balsamic vinegar, and Bleu cheese." I was so annoyed, because this wasn't the first time I had crappy service here. A couple months back, I ordered two slices of pizza and two salads. The older blonde lady gave me and my husband pizzas and me a salad. He told her, "I ordered a salad, too." And she said, "I only rang you up for one." She didn't try to rectity it by asking if he'd like to purchase another salad or if he wanted a free or discounted one for her error. The past 3 times I have eaten from here has resulted in a really bad stomach ache and many trips to the restroom. Most businesses on Yelp provide their "health score" under info. to show how they did in past health and safety inspections, but Valentino's does not. These guys bought the name Valentinos but changed everything else. The sauce tastes like ketchup and their dough is chewy and bland. I tried multiple times thinking new people are fine tuning their pizza. I asked a few times to meet the new owners but every time they weren't around and I got some random person instead. I would have asked questions or made suggestions like I did privately. But when they respond with "what do you want or are you just being a hater" - I have to assume they give zero f's. I've been going down to pch less than a mile away for better food and service since these new guys took over. I miss the old guy who owned this place before. To make a great pizza, you have to make sure that your toppings are equally sliced; small bites are best. Valentino's does not practice that. Their toppings are between chunks and strips. That causes uneven cooking, so not good. Peppers are too chunky and don't get cooked at all. That's not good pizza! read more

I have visited 2 times since Valentino's came under new ownership & moved locations in the plaza. I gave them the benefit of the doubt at the beginning thinking that they were working out the kinks since they had just opened when I first stopped by but the second time was just as bad. Absolutely devastated because it was my favorite pizza place since I moved to HB 10 years ago and I would stop by a couple times a month to grab lunch for myself or dinner for the family. It simply isn't the same despite Tony teaching them his pizza recipes (I bumped into the new owners at the old shop a couple times & they seemed nice). Nice location, service was solid, but the flavor of the pizza is absent. The crust is thick and Chevy, the cheese has no flavor. Valentino's is a small place but is perfect for the current take out only situation. Our favorite days for our Valentino take-out dinners are Wednesday/Thursday which is 3.00 off the Lasagna, Spaghetti or Ravioli pasta dinners. Our favorite is definitely the Lasagna with marinara sauce special, which includes bread sticks topped with cheese . Oh, it is so good! The Lasagna is baked to order and the portion is good enough for 2 people. We have tried the spaghetti with meat balls, with a side of garlic bread. It is always worth adding a side house salad, an Antipasto salad or the Greek salad.
