Firstly, I want to mention not all employees at this location are bad, but the ones that are truly stand out. I have been here a handful of times to get my oil changed. Great, the price is modest, what could go wrong. Not only do they try and up sell you, but they also try and upsell stuff you wouldn't even think to be asked at a place known for oil changes and fluid maintenance. They took off my clamps to my battery to supposedly measure the output, but not only did they say my battery would go out within the matter of weeks, this was two years ago on the same battery. Either incompetence or deceit, one or both, completely unacceptable. Now, at this point I might sound harsh, but afterwards (of course I did not purchase their battery) I went to work. After work, I go to start my car and not even a flinch. I look under the hood and the clamp not only to one side but for both were very loose (negative connection was barely even on). Incredibly dangerous and reckless. I would never come back here and have happily changed my oil on my own ever since. Incompetence at its finest. read more

I've been coming to this location since this place was built. I've given them lots of my business over the years. In the past, the guys were very friendly and professional and knowledgeable. For the last several attempts I've tried getting my car inspected, they are NEVER able to provide that service. I've heard ever excuse under the sun as to why they can't inspect my car. Had my wife's car serviced in early November. Three days later, I had to take the car to the local Toyota dealership, as there was a huge dent in the oil pan with virtually all oil drained. After filing a claim with Valvoline, I never received a call or written correspondence from their claims department. After suggestions of legal action, I was finally told the claim was denied. They assert that their policy is to NOT contact complaintants, if the claim is denied. I find this practice unethical. As a former Fortune 100 executive, I find this policy to be unconscionable. I finally was put in contact with the area manager who finally allowed me to view the cctv video. While there appears to be no abuse, there were several glitches in the first part of the video. There remains no explanation of the glitches nor any agreement to pursue the possibility of tempering. The only true alternative explanation is the vehicle ran over something in the 2 days that followed the service. There is consensus that we would have been aware of such action, as the damage was that severe. Valvoline's handling of this situation defies any consumer loyalty. It was only under my stated willingness to pursue legal action that they then took steps to resolve the issue. Their lack of ethics, the glitches in the video, and the unwillingness to pursue the possibility of the video being altered should cause every current and perspective customer pause. I strongly recommend avoiding the brand all together. read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. Had state inspection done, passed. They never transmitted it to state of TX. Can't get registration renewed. Tried calling store to ask them to transmit it. Their phone number is answered by off-site staff, can't get anyone at store. Once they transferred me to Pueblo, CO store. Tried calling multiple times (3), spoke to someone different off-site each time. One said customer care may be able to help, transferred me and there were 9 people in queue ahead of me. This after waiting over 25 minutes on each call. Guess I'll try to go back in person to see if I can get someone to do their job right and transmit report. NEVER EVER USING THEM AGAIN! read more

I came Sunday to get an inspection 1 hr 45 minutes before closing. Said I have to be here 2 hrs before closing. Advised me to not come Sunday they are busy to come Monday. I come Monday 3hrs before closing. Same guy tells me that the inspection guy left dont know if he is coming back today. Advised me to come back tomorrow. Told him its easier to schedule a dr appt. He said I should go down the street to there competitors to get an inspection. Worst customer service amd after me and my familiy's 5 vehicles of coming here for half a decade. Maybe a little more expensive than the place I usually go, where I get an oil change and wash for about the price I paid here. But this was fine. I'm not sire what it would take for me to give an oil place 4 or 5 stars. Probably a few oil change and/or a massage. I've been bringing both my cars here for years. The guys are nice, and they are quick. I also drive my cars a lot (i drive over a 100 miles a day to and from work). In all the times ive brought my cars here over the last 12 years.. i've only had two issues. First was an issue about 4 years ago, they put the filter on crappy and it leaked resulting in my car running out of oil two days later.. The second time was more recent (pic attached), this time they forgot to reattach the plastic cover the right way.. thus resulting in it coming apart 1/2 way down 121.. It cost me 300 bucks to get it repaired (and replaced - since there was damage to it) at the caddy shop (which luckily was only 2 miles away). I get that this is only a couple of mistakes over a long period of time, but it cost me a decent amount of cash to fix their mistake. the reality is there are lots of places to get my oil changed in Allen. We'll be trying them out next month.. read more

Let me first say I have been coming here since it opened some 10 years ago. The manager from the Preston/Frankford location transferred over to this one and I followed him since I live in the area. Time has went on and I have questioned a couple of times why I still come here over the past few years. You tend to overlook things when you are only doing business with someone every so often. And, I am getting an oil change, not a heart transplant. Fast forward to about February this year. I just got my new car and it was due for the first oil change. I have always used the Durablend they offer since it is partially synthetic and I can go a few more thousand miles between changes. Since I have been coming here, they always pull the Durablend from a secondary container and fill a dispenser to pour it in. This time, the gentleman pulled the oil gun. I quickly asked him about it and he said they just started putting the Durablend in the barrels. I was a bit skeptical and asked what was in the containers along the wall as always. He said they were their full synthetic oils. OK, I believed him. Fast forward to Saturday the 31st and I am getting my oil changed. This time, the employee gets the oil from the container. I asked about the oil gun and the manager, didnt know he was the manager because no uniform, told me that they never have the Durablend or synthetics in barrels. I asked him if he was sure and he confidently told me he was there long enough to know. I then told him about my February visit. He was shocked and said that wasn't possible for his guys to make that mistake. I told him I had no reason to lie and he didn't seem to be concerned. He gave me 20% off my oil change but that doesn't take away the mistrust I have for their store now. Bottom line - I got charged $50+ for a $25 oil change in February. I wonder how many other people they did or continue to do that to when he isn't around. And for what? To show a better sales day? Not sure where I will go next time now... read more

Last time I came here I got frustrated because they did not want to help me move my car over the hole. This time I came, they still told me they can't do it "due to COVID". I was told the same thing again, even though cases are going down and half of all adults are vaccinated. So the threat should be gone, right? I told the mechanic that I didn't think it was safe to do it so he did it for me, which I appreciated. I had to turn my car off so they could do the oil change. It's 95 degrees out and I was getting very hot in my car and the waiting room is closed "due to COVID". Luckily it was unlocked so I could go in and cool off for a moment. Other than that the guys did a good job on changing my oil. The CEO of Valvoline needs to hear this: Lighten up on the COVID rules. Some customers may not feel safe driving their car over the hole. Customers also feel uncomfortable having to wait in their cars, with the ac turned off and the air conditioned waiting room closed "due to COVID". These "due to COVID" rules are creating health and safety risks. I believe they do more harm than good. read more

this is the most shady place i have ever done business with and actually, i am in the process of reporting them to the headquarters and the state. i went here on december 23 to prepare for a long road trip to kansas city. i wanted to make sure my tires were in good shape for the trip and for an oil change. i had a coupon for $10 off an oil change. the manager in the office never left his seat and never talked to the other workers before he said "i looked at your passenger rear tire and it needs to be replaced" first of all, from where he was seated in the office, he could only see the driver's side of my truck. how was he able to conclude this. the crazy part is that 5 minutes later. he went out to the truck and looked at all of the tires. he came back in and said "my mistake, all of your tires are in good shape and you should have no trouble getting to kansas city and back." THEN he said, "i'll tell you what, since it's christmas, i will just ring you up for a tire rotation since it is cheaper than an oil change. also, keep your coupon and we will honor it even if it expires. we don't pay attention to the expiration dates anyway." then, in a matter of minutes they told me i was good to go. keep in mind that i requested an oil change. there is no way they could have changed my oil that fast. from the office, i could see that the guys were struggling to get my oil cap off. i think they finally gave up and didn't change it. i was literally there for a total of 7 minutes. THEN when i go to kansas, my brother (who is a mechanic) just happened to be looking at my car and noticed that my passenger rear tire was in bad bad shape. it was skin bare with no traction. i could have been involved in a fatal accident during my trip because the tire was on the verge of blowing out. there is no way that a tire could have that much damage just from 500 miles. it had to have been bad when i took it to valvoline. read more

Changed the oil and knocked a vacuum hose loose. When the car would not start they blamed my starter. When the tow truck came to take the car to a real mechanic, they told the driver that they fixed the problem and the car was running. When I called to pick up the car, they said they ordered a part and the part would be in in three days. These guys tried to make things right, but a total lack of competence only made things worse. Service like this makes one long for a 'Sorry we're closed' sign. This is the last time we will be using their services. There are too many other places out there. I have to give this place a thumbs down. I took my Honda in about 6 months ago and they said they would change the wipers, check the fluids, change the oil, and the tire pressure. (standard shave and a hair cut) Aftewards: The tires seemed low in front, but I figured it was just a little heavier, (not the case) The windshield wipers squeak and make all kinds of noises. To top everything off, last weekend I needed a new headlight and I called ahead to make sure they replaced them and had them in stock. "Yes" to both, I go up there and they don't have them after all. They were polite, efficient, and very fast! I drive for a living and have to get my oil changed often and they blew all the other places out of the water with their service! I typically hate wasting time getting my oil changed but this place got me in and out! They took the time to show me my oil stick after it was done and when they replaced my air filter they showed me the old one as well as the new one before they put it in. (Probably so Ppl don't accuse them of putting in used parts?) but either way it was a great experience and I was impressed. I'll be back!! read more

Stopped in for an oil change since it was due from the sticker from the last oil change. Pulled up 2 cars in the bays. Told me the price & I said sure. Supposed to get a fleet discount. Told me it didn't amount to much of anything. Truck in bay just finished, so pulled right in hardly any waiting, maybe 3-4 minutes. They got on it right away, sat in my truck while they worked away. Checking everything. Finished it up real quick. Came back with the bill, only problem was it was $13 higher than quoted. I said what about the quoted price, he said we needed an extra qrt of oil. I told him it was an F150 in the beginning & even asked if the included all the oil because it uses an extra qrt. He said yes until the bill came. Then told me he can discount it $10. So ok, won't go back to this valvoline in allen, texas. By the way the shop was clean for a repair shop, outside was clean. I went in here 09/18/18 for a state inspection. I was taken in right away. After I paid and the inspection was finished I noticed my Scan gauge was unplugged from under the dash. I also noticed that my insurance card was not in my car. I contacted an employee who politely plugged the scan gauge back in and apologized. I then told him my insurance card was not in my car. He replied "It's no big deal. Just print out another one." That is true however my card had my personal information on it. My name, address, car info including VIN #, ins company name and policy #. He looked in the car and stated "Sorry." I asked him to please look in the shop for the card. He refused to do it and told me again "It's no big deal." I told him that it is a big deal and that all of my personal info is on that card. He then said "Look. Get over it. It's no big deal." I asked to speak to the manager and he said "You are looking at him." I asked for his supervisors name and phone number and he said "Look it up yourself on the internet." I then asked him what his name is and he said Michael Teslar. Teslar then walked away from me and ignored me from then on. A polite employee gave me Teslar's business card. As I started to leave I noticed a crumpled up piece of paper on the floor by where my car had been. Teslar saw me look at it and quickly picked it up and threw it in the trash can. I asked him if it was my insurance card but he continued to ignore me. I went home and contacted Valvoline customer care and stated that I wanted to file a complaint on Teslar. I was promised a call back from the area manager named Jason within 24 hours. I never received a call. So I am now writing this review in the hopes of saving a future hassle for other people. Avoid this or any Valvoline Oil Change Center in the future. I will. Edit: Dear Courtney. My name is Robert not Richard. If customer service and privacy is your top priority then you should at least get my name right. I still have not received a call from your area manager named Jason as I was promised. It has now been almost a week. I would like to know that Teslar is made aware of this complaint. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! They will tell you that they changed the oil, but really they just topped it off. They will "make mistakes" and not put the oil filter back on correctly, resulting in a loss of oil. I am glad they made that mistake, because it made me aware that they SCAMMED me in the first place. I took it to a different shop and they showed me that my oil was black. Only one week later? Really? SCAM. I thought this place was honest, I can only imagine how many others they have ripped off. I called to let the manager know, and guess what he said "we don't charge unless we do change the oil." YEAH THAT IS BS. You topped it off, showed me the dipstick was good and let me drive off. Meanwhile you just got $45+ from me. When I tried to communicate more with the manager, he said "have a great day mam" and HUNG UP!!!!! Y'all! Stay far away from this scam of a place.
