First, the employees are super friendly and seem competent. Wait time not bad. I was very disappointed, however, with being told they were out of windshield wash fluid again. This makes two times in a row. Walmart is right across the street. Why can't you buy some to have on hand until your supply comes in? That would be really great customer service. My invoice says "windshield wash fluid level checked and OK." Absolutely not true. My last visit I got full synthetic oil, and the employee told me that I would be able to get 5000 miles, which was on the window sticker. This time I also got full synthetic and there was no mention of miles, and the sticker says come back in 3000 miles. This just seems not right. I've been to this Valvoline location a number of times. Each time I've had a great experience. The team here is friendly and focus on providing great service. My most recent visit included a standard oil change. My wait was a little longer than previous visits due to the person in front of me requesting additional services. One of the team members came by to let me know that the wait would be an additional 10 minutes, which I appreciated. During my oil change, I was asked if I had a coupon for my oil change. Valvoline sent out a Black Friday 25% off coupon for an oil change over $35. I like that the business sends perks via email to keep your service. Ok , so my husband and I pulled up to get my oil changed , there was a customer who moved to the left lane and we were in the right lane up next but meaning that the car who moved the left because the employees told him to , they were helping a customer reset her oil light , they made us back up even though we were next in line to let the customer go in front of us because "he was waiting a while" that is completely unacceptable and unprofessional!!! instant oil change my ass. I was taken in within 15 minutes then had to sit there for over an hour and a half while no one worked on my car they finished the car next to me before mine then continued to get information and payment from the next vehicle to come in before completing my car. some worker tried to give me a 15% off coupon after paying like i will ever be coming back and told me they just had to take a break i'm sorry but you completed other cars. i received no explanation and no apology this is the worst service i have ever received at any establishment i would recommend going ANYWHERE else before coming here. i wish i could leave 0 star read more

I'm not local to Texas but I have been traveling around the country and I stopped at Valvoline located at 1701 Spring Green Blvd, Katy, TX 77494 at 5:51pm on 10/26/2020 for an oil change on my 2003 Toyota Sequoia. The reason for the oil change is that I towed over 6000 miles and assumed it was time to change the oil, while I was in town and had some free time. I ended up also getting a transmission flush and differential fluid replaced a well. The mechanics had some issues getting the rear differential fill plug removed and had to use a temporary plug (I was fine with this as long as it wouldn't leak). It was around 7pm I think when I was told everything was complete. I was told to start the car, while I paid and the mechanics checked for any leaks. During most of this period the car was running fine in the oil change bay. After about 10minutes (still in the bay) the Sequoia just shut off. The techs thought the battery was getting drained due to their machine still being hooked to the battery. Upon hooking up a jump pack and starting the car backup, it started but was running extremely rough. I shut it off again to avoid damage and noticed the oil cap was not on. I asked if the car was just not happy because the cap was off, that's when they checked the dip stick and realized that the new oil was never put in. Things got quiet at the shop and I was immediately handed a $25 discount card. I specifically asked if they forgot to add oil, and the techs said it was missing maybe two quarts based on the dip stick. But if the oil dip stick was not removed/wiped clean after draining the oil, some residual oil would still show on the dipstick, even if there was no oil actually in the oil pan. They then added the correct amount of oil and put the cap on (still in the oil change bay). I was told the employee that was in charge of changing the oil, forgot, and was occupied with what the other employees were working on, left Valvoline and went home, but never finished his role in adding the new oil back in the motor. I started the car up again after they added the new oil in, and it was still running extremely rough but started on its own. I told them this is not right, the car was running smooth as silk before I came to Valvoline, but now it feels like a wooden roller coaster on idle... I told them I would drive it around in the parking lot and come right back, which I did. The car had absolutely no power at all and the check engine light started flashing. Back at Valvoline we checked the CEL using an OBDII device and found PO300 and a misfire on all 8 cylinders. It was told that Valvoline would make everything right and we agreed to leave the sequoia at Valvoline 1701 Spring Green Blvd, Katy, TX 77494, locked up inside an oil change bay. They paid for an Uber ride back to my hotel. The following morning 10-27-2020 I went back to the Valvoline location to speak to the area manager that was supposedly headed there to the location the incident happened at. I ended up just talking with him on the phone from the shop going back and forth waiting for phone calls from him for the next 12 hours. Valvoline deal was that they would replace my motor but only at a specific shop they wanted to use. I didn't feel comfortable using some local shop I knew nothing about since i was out of state 1600 miles from home. I wanted to specifically only use a Toyota dealership or the DDPR shop that I know which was local to this Valvoline. Both Corporate headquarters and the manager insisted on using their shop only, due to the other shop being $900 more total, and Toyota dealership being way more, I wanted to choose the middle priced quote. I explained my concerns about the cheapest local shop cutting corners and providing an unrealistic time frame, which i was afraid could leave me stranded half way home regardless of their "Motor Warranty". I will end up paying for all repairs, towing expenses and other misc inconveniences out of pocket while they waste time. read more

I've come to the TX 1463 (near I-10) location 4 times over the past 2 months. The first time, the oil change on my pickup was smooth and professional. Since then, I brought several other vehicles over for service, but all had problems. First, their computer system was down and they could perform no inspections. The second time I was informed they were not doing any oil changes that day, as 'they had run out of oil'??!! Can you believe that?! The latest issue was my spouse who brought her Toyota over for an oil change, and the fellow could not get the oil filter to come off the vehicle (so we had to go to the dealer for an oil change)! The last issue was they did not have the proper Toyota filter tool, to properly remove the oil filter. OK, so we have an Oil Change business that cannot take a filter off one of the most popular vehicles in the USA? And that runs out of oil supply at noon? And can't perform service (I called their number ahead of time to verify they were open for state inspections) because their software and system crashed? Incredible. Save your time, and go somewhere else. These folks are still ironing out LOTS of problems on this location! read more

If it were possible to leave a zero rating, I would. I have visited this specific new location 5 times in the past 6 months, for inspections and for oil changes. Of those visits, only a single one went well. Twice (2 different vehicles) the Inspection could not be performed because their computer was down. Twice for oil changes, I discovered they 'HAD NO OIL' (someone had failed to order resupply, so the business was open but could not perform any oil changes?? Huh? - what place would do that, really??! So after wasting my time 4 visits out of 5, I will NEVER use this location again, and suggest you take your vehicle to another location to avoid disapointment and frustration. read more

They left the skid plate loose and it fell down when exiting the bay. Broke the plastic clip so they tried to half ass reconnect it. Will never use this place again. My SUV is only 1 year old and they managed to damage my new vehicle due to negligence still charging me $100 dollars plus for a syneteic oil change. This would never happen at Goodyear or be allowed. SUV is going to Ford first thing in the AM for a damage quote. read more

When I had the oil in my Expedition changed, the drain plug and washer leaked. I went back to the Katy Valvoline Quick Lube and they pulled and replaced the drain plug and wash and refilled the car with vehicle with new synthetic oil - and in a very courteous and friendly manner! read more

I attempted to get my oil and filter changed last week, but when I got to the Valvoline store, an employee informed me that they did not have any oil, which is inconceivable, but he said to check back next week. So, I called today and they said they had oil. When you try to call the store, your call goes to a call center at Vavoline's corporate office. The person I spoke to assured me the store had oil, so I get to the store and an employee comes out and I ask him if they have oil and he says yes, but he proceeds to tell me that he does not have an oil filter for my car. WTH, first no oil and now no oil filter. I leave and immediately get back on the phone with the call center and tell them what happened. The person checks the inventory for the Fulshear store and she says they have filters for my car,.they have 35 of them. The person questions me on whether I went to the right store. I asked to be put through to the manager of the store because this person said she spoke to the manager and manager said that there had not been anyone there with my make and model vehicle. The call center puts me through and Eric answers the phone. I ask to speak to the manager, but he is not there. I tell Eric what happened and he gives me some BS about there being 2 different oil filters for my vehicle and that yes, they do have oil filters for my car. There were no other cars in the bays, so it wasn't like they were too busy to check and see if they had my oil filter before telling me they didn't. I guess they just didn't want to do their job.
