Just needed to check my oil levels and this was a location convenient to my travels. I waited outside less than 10 mins- showed up around 8:30/9am. The worker who helped me "Emmanuel" was so polite and thorough to help me. I spent about 15/20 mins here. Cost for 1- QT of oil was just under $12. I was not impressed with another worker- who I interacted with he was not quite as polite. I also wasn't happy I could use my 20% off entire invoice coupon. Very dishonest. We went in for a conventional oil change and after they completed the work they stated my car needed a top tier oil change because of the milage. My car has about 40 thousand miles on it and is my car is six years old. We live close to work so we have very little wear and tear on the car. They made an extra $70 but lost a few customers in the process. That sounds like bad business to me. read more

I got a call within 20 min and it was explained in great detail, of exactly what happened and it was definitely a misunderstanding on my end - Very impressed with how they handled it. The employee involved was Housman, and he was the one who called me back, talk about taking control of the situation and rectifying any misunderstandings. I wish I could tell you this Valvoline Instant Oil Change shop is an amazing, one-stop shop for oil change. It's super conveniently located and quick enough that you can get an oil change on your morning commute. Well, I did just that. On my way to work, I stopped in to get a standard oil change. They do their standard upsell bit. Apparently, my car is long overdue for an automatic transmission fluid change. It's a manual. Oops! Well, 2 weeks later, the maintenance required light comes on. I roll into my mechanic and what's the error code? DUE FOR AN OIL CHANGE! Needless to say, unless the next oil change is free to prove they can actually do it right, I won't be back. And if you've read this far, you should ask them to make sure they reset the counter on your computer before you leave the shop. read more

I drive a lot, like 30,000 miles a year lot. So I'm getting an oil change almost once a month. I tend to go to Valvoline because of its convenience but the more I go and the more I'm pressured on the upselling, the less and less I look forward to returning another time. Apparently, I got the manager of this location the last time I was there and she was ruthless. I take good care of my car and had just gotten $1000 worth of new shoes on my car. So I'm not going to let them talk me into an air filter, transmission flush and everything else they are trying to push on me. Sure, I may need some things here or there but you don't know what else I've spent money on lately, lady. I get most my service done at a dealership as well and if they didn't recommend something that seems arbitrary and unnecessary, I'm not going to do it let alone an oil changing place. Nor do I need to prove to you via some paper records that I did something, so please stop asking for it. Also, if I say I want conventional oil, don't freaking question me on it just because my car may be higher mileage. I'm not stupid and realize the profit margin on the synthetic is going to be here for a place like this. I have bills to pay and giving you $500 or so a year because I'm here so often is enough. I don't need the "lesson" EVERY FREAKING TIME I'm here. I like conventional and it has never let me down, so chill. The work they do is ok, it's not rocket surgery but they always turn it into such an ordeal and frankly I'm getting sick of it. I may have to find a local mechanic that will tackle oil changes without the hassle now that I'm living in the area. If you want it quick, go here. I love this place! Such quick and easy service. The best thing is not having to get out of your car. I mean it's the most convenient thing ever! Specially in the winter when it's cold and getting out of the car is simply a drag. People working on your car are friendly and knowledgeable, for the most part. Very overpriced and high pressure purchasing other services from them. For a Synthetic Blend oil change, they charged me $67. If you went to the auto parts store, you could get a filter and 5 quarts of FULL synthetic for less than $30. If you calculate them performing 15 minutes worth of labor into changing the filter and doing their other checks, you are paying these people $120/hour for very basic maintenance. People getting their engine or transmission replaced on their vehicles don't even pay this even at a dealership! There are far better places to go to get your oil changed for significantly less money. Don't get robbed by going here! read more

I have regularly come to Valvoline in Woburn since '08 and I have not had one single, solitary moment where I wished to go anywhere else but Valvoline. I bounce between Medford and Woburn where they are conveniently located to me and each time I have visited, they live up to its name. INSTANT. Today, Lou, was one of the sassy guys of the bunch, but it all made my short visit worthwhile. He accepted a coupon that had recently found and saved me 25% from the total bill. After an exaggerated post-Christmas credit card bill, I could have certainly used every penny-saving device possible. Thanks, Lou. I knocked a star for all other services that are unnecessary to get at Valvoline, e.g., changing the air cabin filter behind the glove compartment. For these additional services, just go to any auto supply store and save yourself at least 50% from what needs to be changed. Refer to your vehicle's manual and I assure you it'll be an easy 1-2-3 step process. In one case, they were going to charge me $75 to change the cabin air filter, but I know better than to not pay more than $20 from my local supplier and do-it-myself. And, there $55 saved and it didn't take more than 5 minutes to complete the process. See you in 29,800 miles or 4/6/2015 (whichever comes first). read more

She did not care that I was the customer and what kind of oil I wanted put in my Subaru Outback!!! I have been getting 5W30 for over 8 years!!! Nobody has EVER given me a hard time about it!!! Everyone knows how these instant oil change places go, they get you in with the promise of a free oil change then they upsell you on everything else and you end up leaving with a $500 bill and a frown on your face. This place was different. The service was great and the lady who was keying in my info was honest and didn't push the upsells too hard. Update: I had to go to the Somerville location because the oil warning light went on, once there they checked the reservoir and it was almost empty, how is this possible?? So I had to spend 130.00 to refill the oil. Took my car in for an oil change on 9/23/17. The service was quick and professional. However, when I checked the e-invoice after coming home, I noticed that there were "Premium Filter Charge" and "Premium Oil Charge" for $15 and $17 dollars respectively. These were never communicated with me. Upon calling the customer service, I found out that they needed to use a special type of filter and oil for my car, which I thought was a nonsense. Maybe yes for the filter but not for the oil. Not sure how they can charge me extra when I was already paying for their SynPower Oil Change. . I told them that the service would've been cheaper if I took the car to the dealer and they ended crediting me back the $32. Nice people and nice service, but make sure to check your receipt and know what you are getting charged for. read more

He then had another car that had just pulled in go ahead of me even though I had been waiting. They just lost my business which is to bad because I never minded getting my oil changed there. Took my car in for an oil change (they did my oil change last time). It's a Range Rover. Heard the guy under my car yelling about how he cracked the washer and couldn't get it off. Called for help. Guy that was checking me in goes down and I hear all kinds of machinery. Guy comes back up, I watch him take the oil dipstick out of my car and wipe it on his arm, he then walks over to me and tells me I have a significant oil leak and shows me the oil he wiped on himself and tells me it's from downstairs. OK. They also tell me there's no manager on site to speak to. I called customer service and they filed a claim that will go to regional. No idea if they broke my car and tried to play it off or didn't want to fess up that they couldn't get the screws off to do the oil change and used that as an excuse. I explained I had just gotten my car back from a mechanic and having my tires replaced, I had NO oil leak at all- ever. Have photos to shows where I park (very very light colored ground) with NO oil on the ground in my designated spot. definitely would be oil there if I had a "significant oil leak". Waiting to see what regional says and if there is any oil on the ground after this visit. They will absolutely pay for repairs. read more

I recently got a 2015 Infiniti Q40 and brought it to this Valvoline for its first oil change. Big mistake, half way home I heard a scraping noise coming from underneath the car so I pulled over to check it out. When I looked underneath the car I discovered they didn't re-bolt the skid-plate after they were done changing the oil. I called to let them know what happened and the girl on the phone told me to drive it back and they would fix it. I reluctantly started driving back and in about a mile the skid plate snapped right off. I was mortified as I had only had the car for about a week at that point. The manager ended up offering me my money back (I paid $39.99 even thought I brought my own oil ) and she was nice, however the overall experience was horrific. If you care about your car at all I would avoid this place. read more

I went from Wakefield to Montvale Ave Woburn in about 15 minutes only to find out they didn't have the filter. The guy told me they just used the last one prior to my arrival. I went in for an oil change a while back and the cap on my oil dip stick snapped off during service, which unfortunately is common for Chrysler 300s. Evan gave me a discount on my oil change so I could put that savings towards buying another dip stick from autozone. I came back to Valvoline and Evan and his team went out of their way for almost an hour to retrieve and replace the broken dip stick...at no charge!!! Exemplary service and really nice people. This is why Valvoline, but more importantly this specific Montvale Ave location, is the only place I go for my oil change/service. You can't go wrong. read more

Do not go to here! Although it is very convenient to stay in your car while getting an oil change- that is the only positive about this place. This was my first and last time ever going here. They did not put the oil drain plug back in properly so a few days later it fell out along with all the oil. My car died and had to be towed to the dealership. Valvoline did take responsibility but we were not satisfied in what we were offered. We did not trust the vehicle and ended up getting a new car (my car only had 47K miles on it, had no car payment and planned on keeping for years!). After all we went through- it ended up taking over 2+ months and several phone calls to even get the very little compensation that was offered. I have been going to Jiffy Lube for years and have never had any issues. The one and only time I go here this happened. Valvoline is also more expensive than jiffy lube and even a dealership. I understand that mistakes happen but if all they do is oil changes- you would think they would do them properly! read more

Had an excellent experience at this location. Came for an oil change. Everyone was very nice and things were quick. There were no attempts to be conned into this or that. I changed my air filters not too long ago and they noted that. They also cleared my engine light for me so I didnt need to pay a mechanic/dealer to "recheck it", clear it and tell me it didnt need to be fixed (EVAP alert). read more

Very quick and so convenient! I went at 1pm and there was no line. I zipped right in and sat in the car while they changed my oil. I was able to use a $5 coupon and even got a $10 coupon to use on my next visit since I'm a new customer.
