Another great Yelp find. Total hole-in-the-wall, limited menu. Went thinking I was in for a Barbacoa feast but damn, the place also served Birria - and while I love good lamb, good goat is too hard to find and even harder to turn down. We did get a Barbacoa taco kicker and it's legit stuff. So legit that if you have preferences for the cut of meat you want, you need to tell the kitchen. We asked for tacos de pansita and the waitress insisted they were. We have eaten there before and nothing like this happened. She even called the cook she also insisted they were pansita tacos . Maybe there is new personnel . New cook or who know but we had never experienced the cook fingering our tacos to prove her point. Honestly almost walked past this gem because it looked a little busy, but I decided to go with my nose on this one! It smelled so good and Let me tell you I was not disappointed! To my surprise the food didn't even take long at all. Everyone there was very friendly and the owner made it a point to stop at every table and ask how the food was tasting. My wife's aunt found this place on Yelp because of the current 4.5 star review. I am not a fan quite as much as most of the reviews, but our group of 10 seemed to like it overall. It is a simple mexican restaurant that specializes in lamb, which I recommend getting to share with 2-3 people. I am not a huge meat eater, but I enjoyed the barbacoa burrito for $6.99. It is very filling, but doesn't have any rice and beans on the side, just a bit of shredded lettuce. The tacos, burritos mostly seem to be very simple, so the sauces, onions and cilantro add some flavor. Beware of the marinated onions, they are quite spicy! I probably don't appreciate the authenticity of it and miss more of the veggies and rice/beans and toppings. Multiple people in the group loved the horchata also. They seemed to be short staffed, so beware you will probably be in for a slow meal if the restaurant is full. If you are in the mood for lamb though then definitely give Vamos a try! read more

I give this place one star because I drove all the way across town and arrived at 8:25 p.m. and it states that they close at 9pm. I walked inside and they told me that I could not get any food unless it was to go. The restaurant closes at 9 p.m. not 8:30 and they did not want to let us sit down and eat our food. I usually like to come here but they really need to get their act together. I called to talk to the owner and he was not available. This is why businesses fail. If the owner or manager is not on site the employees do whatever they want. They wanted to make sure the door was locked exactly at 9pm. We have eaten here before and it does not take us 30 minutes to eat. If the owners read this they really need to stay in their business and understand and know what your employees are doing. Turning Away business of a party of eight and decided to leave and not come back would really start hurting business. read more

I was thoroughly impressed by this hidden gem! Of course when trying out a new restaurant I always go with their main dish or what they're most known for. I selected the delishious Barbacoa. For those who are not familiar with this dish, Barbacoa refers to meats (lamb or goat) slow cooked over a open fire, or more traditionally, in a hole dug in the ground covered with maguey leave. I found my order to be very authentic. and the salsas they paired it with matched perfectly! the food was fairly quick and the price was very fair. I'm not big fan of the restaurant seating arrangement & the restaurant is fairly small/average size witch makes it difficult for large parties, I imagine it fills up quickly.... Delicious and carefully-made, this is the real thing for Mexican. Guacamole is made to order, the tacos are amazing and the salsas are made fresh and anything but boring. I didn't really know what to expect when I first walkes in. It was old and a little dirty. The lady serving hardly spoke English at all, but none of this really bothered me. They serve a lot of lamb bases products which I am not used to, but don't disapprove on. So I sat down ordered the rolled tacos and they were delicious. This was the first time trying the barbacoa from Texcoco. The gentleman that assisted me insisted I try to eat my food there, as I had it to go. When I got to work I noticed why he insisted. The meat was amazing, the consume was flavorful, and the salsa was great. If it tasted this good cold, I can only imagine how it would taste fresh. I was floored by how well the meat is cooked and how flavorful the consume was. Many times when I have tried consume it has been overly salted, greasy, and left that disgusting feel of cold fat on your tongue. But not this consume. It had the best ratio of fat and broth that created this symphony in my mouth. The tacos I made were so delicious I will definitely go back for more. The meat was very tender and had the hint of goat. It was not overpowering and yet it had amazing flavor. I HIGHLY recommend this place to truly have an experience with barbacoa. Salut! read more

We got a feast to go - and the food was incredible. The lamb was so tender - and the soup/lamb broth was delicious too. We also got the mushrooms, cactus salad, and the corn-mold stuff - huitlacoche - delicious!! Plus all three salsas, crema, and don't leave without fruit juice(s)!! Honestly, can't say that I have ever had better food - it was all AMAZING. As good as it all was that evening - it was EVEN BETTER the next day.
