Scope of work was misrepresented. I came in for for several recalls on my 2011 Ram 1500. Since I was coming in for the recalls, I wanted to address other issues my truck was having. I told my service advisor that my engine was making some strange noises in addition to my AC control not turning on and also my tire service light was on. I was told to diagnose the tire issue, there would be no charge but for the engine and AC $200 diagnoses fee would apply for each to a total of $400, which I agreed. After several days I was told that my engine needed to be replaced because of the mileage on the truck. My engine was recently rebuilt, so the odometer has no relevance on the state of the engine. No actual diagnoses was performed, rather a conclusion was made simply because of the odometer reading. When I confronted my service advisor, he agreed to not charge for the engine diagnoses as no diagnoses was actually performed rather an inference based on mileage. Secondly, with respect to the AC I was told I needed a new ac control that would be around $600, which I declined and paid $200 for the diagnoses. After leaving the dealer, I went to autozone changed the relevant fuses and the AC control is working fine again. This service department is untrustworthy making recommendations not based on any mechanical evaluation but rather what seems to be a total replacement if something t isn't working without a proper explanation. My concern is for the people who are not as informed about the inter workings of a vehicle and can be fraudulently induced into paying for a service/repair that has no merit. I demand a refund of the phony diagnoses of my AC, as it did not need to actually be replaced as stated. I have asked for the head of service to call me now and I have been waiting for weeks. I have even texted my service advisor to which my messages continue to be ignored. I was in the market for a new Ram but because of this experience I will be looking to another brand. If this dealership is representative of the experience a customer should expect when owning a Ram vehicle, I advise the public to carefully rethink their choice. read more

5 stars isn't enough to rate my recommendation for this dealership. I (with 0 exaggeration ) called and worked deals with 3 other Jeep/Chrysler dealerships trying to help an old friend get help getting re-established. It wasn't until I called these guys that we finally had some traction with the utmost respect and professionalism that my friend deserved. They treated him like the financially well off customer he once was before he had some financial trouble. VJC got him approved in the exact vehicle he wanted. So far, so good. Can never really tell how good your car service was until 3 months later when the next car place tells you your coolant was filled with water... (sorry, still bitter about a past experience at Sears!) Anyway, took my car here cuz the heat/ac stopped working. Was helped by Tony and he was very clear about what was going on and was also good about returning phone calls. Took 1 star off because the part for my car came in several weeks later than quoted. I understand that's probably the fault of their supplier, but maybe they need to explore other partnerships? Will definitely see them again to service my Chrysler. read more

As soon as I got there I told them I don't want to be messed around with discounted prices only to find out there's lo jack, paint protection etc that bumps the price back up.the salesman assured me they don't do that (don't they all ?). I wanted a white grand cherokee V6 overland with blue interior.I told them I would be using my Costco card so he directed me to Dee Dee.Dee Dee started working some figures but I was still reluctant,so in comes Michael LaMarr with the hard sell,after 15 mins I got an amazing deal.I left that night with a brilliant deal and well over the KBB for my trade in and a lifetime warranty for the overland to boot. They loaned me a LTD 2013 GC to go home in that night as I had to leave the trade in and my overland wouldn't be there till the next day.I hadn't even spent a cent yet by this time. the next day about 6pm I returned to Vans Nuys Jeep and saw a brand new white overland sitting there,I knew it was mine,love love love that vehicles looks,I saw Dee Dee and she came out to meet me and we sat in the overland with my wife for over half an hour while Dee Dee showed us everything we needed to know about the tech in the 2 screens including syncing up our phones to the U connect system,Thanks. Dee Dee noticed the tank was under quarter so told us to wait and she's put $40 in the tank,thanks again. We then went to see George Ortega in finance,we where going to pay cash but after a talk we decided that as Chrysler where now doing 0% finance for 3 years we should keep our money in the bank and pay it off over 3 years and it wouldn't cost a penny to use it. we where in finance no longer than 25 mins in total. now the problems start............ when I got home that night I noticed a piece of the inside passenger door handle was missing,I returned the next day to service and asked them to look at it and order me one,I was told by service to drive it up to the door at the front,I pointed out the Jeep was sitting at the other door only 12 feet away from the door she wanted it at,sorry sir you have to bring it to that door,really!!! you can't walk 12 feet. Oh well 5 stars to Van Nuys Jeep and 0 stars to service. UPDATE.......8/16/13 Ok I now received my warranty in the mail and it wasn't the one I bought.I went back in to find out Dee Dee and George have now left the company.I am told by the now finance guy that I only paid for a cheaper warranty,I explain the warranty was thrown in as a sweetener to close the deal and showed him my original purchase.I am amazed he is now going to see the manager to see if they will honor it,Really. Let me start by saying that as someone that works in a sales and service industry, I try very hard to provide opportunity for issues to get rectified before leaving a negative review. That being said my experience with this dealership has been so unsatisfactory. I purchased a Pruis Prime on April 19th the sales process was ok with a few minor things like the sales person saying repeatedly that his boss didn't want to sell me the car at the "listed" price because they were losing money, but got over that and all else was pretty smooth, they took my money just fine! As we're inspecting the car prior to final signatures I noticed the plug is missing, and let him know I am in no way buying a Plug In car with no Plug, kinda the whole and really only point of getting the car. He said no problem we will order you one, it was designated as a due bill item confirmed with the finance guy who stated to me in front of the sales guy make sure she gets her plug within 10 days. Here we are on May 3rd with NO PLUG, NO CALL, NO UPDATE, NOTHING! I have now refilled my tank 3 times in addition to the full tank I left the dealership with, not only am I spending money unnecessarily but because it has a smaller tank I am making more trips to the gas station. I called several times last week to get an ETA and NOTHNG. After calling incredibly frustrated by the end of last week they assured me that either Jon, GM or Josh, Sales Mgr. would call me to let me know when it will be in and still NOTHING. I sent a frustrated text message to the sales manager who by the way had stopped replying, only for him to finally respond and say they were "trying" to find the plug that came with the car and if they couldn't would order it. So in essence NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE! For one of the more successful dealerships in the area YOU'RE TELLING ME THAT YOU CAN'T retrieve a plug for one of the most popular cars sold in the state. And more so is it just impossible for you to have the courtesy of providing decent customer service! It's not like I am asking for the impossible or the unreasonable, I am simply asking for what is owed and what was promised. I shouldn't have to waste more time chasing you down or having to write a negative review in hopes to get you to do the right thing! read more

I was there today and have spent all day, first of all I want to say thanks to Derek he has done great job, but another sales man every second has trying to make a pressure on me and even when we finally found a car that I would like to buy, there was some price, I said I can pay my price and no dollar more, sales guy said that they can't do that, and I just was going home but they stoped me and said they will try and we found out the middle of their offer and my, and I was agreed, he said he will try, he took all my information for financing and made a credit check then showed me numbers with their first higher price, I said I'm not going to pay this price I asked to try what I was agreed with, finally he just walks to manager like asking to reduce the price but every time wend back he was trying to increase my offer, I was okay to add 5 hundreds more but it was not enough for them and we just finished without a making a deal. In conclusion I have a credit checking that I didn't want to have for their price. I think I will never have a deal with this dealer and I would suggest that to everyone who I know and not. P.S.: A pre-owned car what I wanted has a tag price of 31k (but there was MSP like for new one) That sales man said specially for you we can do 25,675, but I just found this can on carfax site with 25,675 price. Came in yesterday wanting to test drive a car. Spoke with Moe and he said they have to bring the car over from their lot and it'll take 30 min. Didn't have time yesterday so I made an appointment to drive the car today. Was told to call beforehand and confirm they were bringing the car over to the lot. I do that, I'm told Mo isn't in the office but he'll be in by my appointment time. I assume he was out picking up the car so I drive over. I get there and find out not only is today Moe's day off, so he's not there at all, but the car is not there either and there's no appointment listed in my name. And if I want to drive the car, I'd have to again wait 30 minutes. This is such shitty business. Disorganized and inconsiderate. I will not be giving them any more of my time and certainly none of my money. read more

I purchased a certified pre-owned (CPO) 2016 Ram 1500 last December 29, 2019. Immediately after leaving the dealership around 4:15 pm, I noticed when I come out of the truck around 5:30PM the interior lights in front and back doesn't work. I immediately called the attention of the sales agent Mr. Caleb, who politely asked to bring the truck to Russell Dealership. So even if I am a bit far already, I brought the truck back to the dealership. I arrived around 7:00 PM, and the service department was already closed. Caleb tried to fix the problem but to no avail. Caleb then advised me to comeback the following day, Monday Dec. 30, 2019. This is becoming very inconvenient because I live far, I live in Palmdale around 65 miles away from this dealership. But I have no choice, so I went back Monday and meet the service advisor named Alan Jones, he scheduled me for a truck service on Saturday 1-4-2020. I went back at the dealership on 1-4-2020 (Saturday). Before I went to the dealership, I found out that the installed tire locks doesn't have the key to remove it, so I asked Caleb about it. Caleb told me to ask the service department people. So when I arrived at the dealership's service department, I asked the server advisor Alan Jones about the key to the wheel locks. Alan immediately responded that he cannot help me on the tire locks, he told me to talk to Caleb about the tire locks. And to my surprise, Alan told me that I have to pay a deductible fee of $100 for the repair of the interior lights. I was like REALLY? I purchased a certified pre owned truck and this is what would happen immediately after the purchase? This is a clear bad business practice and it's like adding insult to injury. The service advisor even said that he cannot do anything about the deductible and if I want my truck fixed I need to pay the fee. He also said that he doesn't care about clients giving him bad reviews, he doesn't care about customer service feedback. I was taken aback by that kind of comment from a representative of the service department. I told him, why would I be charge for their mistakes? I got the truck like that. So I called Caleb and he agreed that I should not be charged of anything because this is their fault. Caleb then talked to the service manager and everything was resolved. They agreed to give me a new wheel locks and fix the interior lights for free. Unfortunately, the service advisor Alan Jones made me wait for more than three (3) hours. During the wait, around 2hrs after I was told to have a seat because they're going to fix the interior lights and replace the locks for free. I decided to go to the service advisor Alan to ask him how much longer does it gonna take to finish the repair, it's been two hours already. Alan arrogantly told me to wait for his call and not to bother him as he is very busy. Wow, I was taken aback and very surprised with his answer. So I went back to the waiting area. However, after waiting for another hour I decided to go to the repair shop area of the dealership to find out what is happening and to my surprise, I found out that my truck was already been long finished. It was just parked there at the shop without anybody attending it. After a few seconds standing and looking at my truck, a mechanic guy approached me and said is there anything I can help you with? So I answered, sir this is my truck, and were you able to fix the interior lights and change the wheel locks already? then the guy answered me, yes, it's a simple few minutes fix , I just replaced the bulbs and changed the tire locks, its been sitting here for several hours already, I don't know why they didn't come to get this. Then I saw Alan the service advisor was running towards the shop shouting "I told you to wait for my call.". I was like REALLY? You made me wait for more than 3 hours for what? To punish me? Give me a hard time because I didn't agree to your unreasonable charges? WOW this is really disgusting and very disappointing experience. This guy Alan Jones needs training in terms of proper manners, good attitude and good customer service. No wonder this dealership got a lot of very bad reviews from client's who visited the service department. read more

I brought my daughter's Jeep Renegade to your service department at my 8:30 am appt. time on Tuesday 4/23/19. By 4pm I hadn't heard from anyone so I called. I got the impression that no one had checked the car all day. The technician said the car didn't lunge forward like I said it did. I knew this wasn't true cause the car does the shaking and lunging forward when it's at a stop and right when you turn it on everytime. They wanted to keep my car another day but at this point I just wanted the car back. My car is still under warranty for some parts but I will not be bringing it back to your service department.  I took a day off work to get this done, all for nothing. When my daughter drove her car out of the service area it did the shaking and I know no one checked it all day. Terrible service department. read more

Buyer Beware!!! Update: I purchased my car from this dealership in 2013. I have had multiple issues with this car, both electrical & mechanical and I am convinced that I was sold a lemon. During the summer of 2016 I started having an oil pressure issue with my 2013 Dodge Dart. The issue was causing oil filters to pop off of my car and spew oil, like a sprinkler, from under my car, causing my car to die on the side of the road. I towed to the car to the nearest Jiffy Lube and they were hesitant to touch it because they did not want to get blamed for a bigger issue. I paid them to only put a new filter and top it off with oil and I drove it to this dealership. I told them what happened and they just told me that the filter must have been loose. A couple months later the same thing happened again and they told me that they couldn't find anything wrong with the car besides that the filter that Jiffy Lube put on wasn't a Morpar part. They gave my car an oil change and replaced the filter but I wasn't confident enough with that. I had to ask them to look into my car and find anything that could be causing an issue with the oil pressure. They came back and told me that I needed a new alternator (nothing to do with oil pressure) and a new oil pan that was sagging because of all the oil I had lost the previous times. I paid for a new alternator, but had to later ask for a refund because my warranty covered the alternator. It's been a head ache and it took 3 months for me to get a refund back. I never went back to this dealership, but did continue to have issues with my oil pressure. I took my car to the Glendale Dealership and they worked on my car for 2 months trying to find the bigger issue which was the oil switch, oil pump and replaced the car's computer. Because I dealt with this oil pressure issue for over a year I don't yet know the extent of the damage to my car. What I do know is that Russel Westbrook neglected me as a customer and my car as one of their products. I am currently dealing with Dodge Corporate just to get peace of mind and I have made an official complaint about this dealership and how they neglected my car and might have caused more damage. read more

When I asked for a quote or price to see what a monthly payment would be on a vehicle, sales manager greeted me told me he would put some numbers together, made me wait then sent someone else to tell me he wouldn't give me any numbers unless I agreed to "earn my business" and commit to buying a car before seeing any figures. This dealership completely screwed up my 2008 Chrysler 300, i went in for an airbag recall and when i got the car back the inside lights, dashboard lights, clock, trunk opening switch all didn't work. THEY DID NOTHING TO FIX IT, Terry Cordova (customer service) said " Sorry, Chrysler doesn't carry the instrument cluster anymore" service manager Roy Cook did not return any of my numerous messages, and Terry Cordova told me to try getting it fixed somewhere else, WTF IS THAT?? THEY BROKE IT. Update Dustin Lawler put me in touch with Roy Cook, he got my car working correctly again, everything that stopped working is now working again, seems there was some a communication breakdown that was at the root of my previous experience, Roy made everything right. read more

I am so disappointed by this dealership. I purchased a CPO 2016 Wrangler Sahara unlimited from you guys less than a month ago and it has been an absolute headache ever since. I immediately noticed a problem (rattle in the steering) the second I test drove it and was promised it would be fixed before purchase. Once purchased, problem was not fixed as promised. Also, one of the employees at the dealership attempted to remove a window sticker and tore off tint with the sticker, and then pressed it back on as if it "didn't happen" where I then, a few hours later at home, find the problem. Also, the Jeep was filthy on the inside with trash left in the glove box and center console as well as dirty hand smudges on the ceiling and pet hair in the trunk. I call the dealership back and you guys promise to fix it, which was a full on process in itself. I am promised that they would fix the rattle, squeaky brakes, tint, re-detail, and fill up my tank with gas as a courtesy. Vehicle was to be brought back in with promise to fix all of the problems under warranty. Took forever to "fit me in" for a service, and in that time I had to do the leg work to get the tinting fixed (paid by you guys). Finally, I leave the vehicle with them for 5 days. The problems were NOT fixed when I picked the Jeep back up. They fixed a leaky radiator and a failed gear box (how this wasn't found before I bought the vehicle when I only had it for 2 weeks is beyond me). The brakes were still squealing and the rattle was not fixed in the steering. Also, it was not cleaned and detailed and full of gas, as promised. Upset, I drop the vehicle back off to the service department 3 days later for them to fix what they didn't fix before. 4 days later, (day 4 being the day I wrote this) after zero communication from the service department and after MANY calls to get ahold of someone there, I find out that they "can't find the problem" and "nothing is wrong" saying the cold weather is the reason for the squeal (as nobody else driving around me has squealing brakes besides me...as the rental vehicle I have isn't squealing....as my wife's brakes aren't squealing... hmmm) and that the rattle isn't there after I told them MANY times the rattle comes when the vehicle is warmed up. He said they drove it and didn't feel it... yeah... you didn't drive it enough to warm it up. When I bought the vehicle and felt the rattle initially, it was a warm day. When it's cold out, you don't feel it. After I drive it on a cold day, once the vehicle warms up, the rattle comes back. I was told also once the brakes warm up, there is no squeal, which is also false. Both of these 2 main issues I just explained above existed when I dropped off the Jeep the second time after driving 50 miles to get to the dealership (AKA vehicle WAS warmed up). I am so frustrated by all of this. John, used car manager, is friendly and trying to help figure this out. Shelly, the rental car manager is very sweet. Salesman Shayan and Morales (the sales manager) are also good guys. Everyone else that I have encountered though has treated me very rudely, including one of the service tech who is "in charge" of my vehicle. The right hand does not talk to the left at this dealership. This process has been short of smooth and has been very stressful. I've owned this Jeep for just about a month and it's been with you guys almost more than it has been with me. I'm being treated as if I'm making up these issues and I don't appreciate it. I RARELY complain about bad service. I RARELY write reviews. This whole situation has pushed me to take even more time out of my busy day to write this. I am fearful the issues I have won't be fixed, and that is NO way for a customer to feel. read more

I originally went to purchase a used Kia Stinger from Russell Westbrook Chrysler Dodge Jeep (the dealership across the street from Van Nuys Kia) but they didn't honor a verbal deal made over the phone and ended up selling the car that I drove an hour an a half to purchase. But God is good. I ended up leaving Van Nuys Kia with a 2022 Kia Stinger GT Line with all the bells and whistles. DO NOT EVER take you Jeep into this place to get fixed. We took our JK in there for a small electric problem. They charged me my deductible and said it was fixed. It wasnt. We took it back and they had the Jeep for OVER A MONTH. Our "Mopar" warranty entitles us to a rental car, they kept saying that they didnt have any available the entire time. We had to call Jeep (corporate) which wasnt too much more help honestly, got a case opened. They told us that they had authorized a rental so we went to get it. At this point we were told the issue was fixed and that we could have the car back. They put over 300 MILES on the Jeep while they had it. On the drive home, we noticed a whining sound coming from the shifter area (its an automatic) that was NEVER there before. We took it back in. They are now saying that they want us to authorize a tear down because the "clutch" is bad it may need a new torque converter, and that the transmission fluid is "burnt". Depending on what they find and what the "warranty inspector" says, we "might" be out 1900 bucks. Im 46 years old and have been working as a Solutions Architect for Large Enterprise for over 20+ years. I have owned numerous cars, new and old. 2 pre-67 VWs, 2 Ford Trucks bought brand new, I have a modified SXS...I have never dealt with so much nonsense my entire life. I was planning on buying the new Jeep with the 392 in it but not a snowballs chance in hell after this experience. A new Bronco sounds really attractive right now. I dont blame Jeep as much as this shady ass dealership.
