I'm really torn about how to write this review. First off, place is super cute and the staff was really nice to my dog. My dog, who is normally very anxious going to the groomer, was ok there and they were very good about giving her the necessary attention so that she wasn't so anxious. My dog really really liked her groomer. The reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because my dog got knicked during her grooming session and no one told me! I know my dog. I'm sure she would have yelped. I only found out a couple days later when I noticed she had a cut on her stomach that was bothering her. We had to take her to the vet who confirmed it was infected and said it looked exactly like she had been knicked at the groomer's. So, this grooming got pretty expensive. Just food for thought. Also, the hair on her face was crooked. Maybe she was a bit squirmy but I had to trim it when I got home. read more

APPALLING. Staff: Astounding. No question. Care of dog: 1/10 (because he was kept alive). We adopted a poor little guy that looked like he had just been pulled off the street when in reality he had been at VPD for quite a while. Being so old and "worn" he had been shown zero interest for adoption. Upon adopting him, we had noticed a large open cyst on his neck that was oozing and bleeding, ears that had years of wax and neglect and nearly 50% of his teeth were so maltreated that they all needed to be extracted. Now the previous owners are obviously responsible, but it's hard to look past the fact that he was at a GROOMER and had zero care or grooming. We were also told the pal he was brought to the shelter with passed shortly before we came and adopted our little buddy. I'd be curious how poor he was cared for. It's hard to follow them on IG and see how immaculately cared for all the dogs in the images are when our poor little guy looks like he has been surviving on the streets. We haven't questioned caring for him nor experienced an ounce of "buyer's remorse". We aren't those kind of people. But it should be known a simple adoption has cost upwards of $1K in bills that were simple preventative care. Very, very disappointed when this kind of money doesn't just show up out of nowhere. We've been adopting shelter animals at county and city shelters and have never seen nor experienced such poor care of an animal. Pure, conscious neglect. Open, bleeding wounds? Entire mouth of loose teeth? Years of wax buildup? Unacceptable. read more

So I made the mistake of stopping by the establishment. I called and asked if they had any teacup puppies and the gentleman said yes that they had two that were Chihuahuas. I drive all the way over here and I'm asked to sign a waiver which is fine I signed it no problem. after signing on the tablet I look up and the gentleman that escorted me to the tablet has disappeared so I turn around and I go to the front desk. Beyond guy re-emerges and advises me that some random volunteer is going to assist. so I walked back over to the gate to go into the puppies and she stops me and wants me to sign in again. I advised her that I'd already signed the waiver and she asked me am I sure as if I wouldn't remember signing in 20 seconds ago. she's refusing to let me in the gate so I go back over to the front desk and ask them what is the problem with me looking at a puppy? But yell over to the random volunteer to assist me so I walked back over to the gate again. then she leaves the gate instead of showing me the puppy and goes back over to the front desk to ask them if it's okay for me to hold the puppy. At this point I am frustrated as hell I have no idea why I am getting so much scrutiny but it's happening. the random volunteer then tries to explain it away saying oh well I have to ask for everyone if they can hold it. really? What the hell are we signing a waiver for if we're not going to hold the puppies??????????? Nor did this "concerned" random volunteer ask the group of white women that were signing in after I'd already signed in. she didn't go to the front desk and asked if they could hold the puppy, she needed to confirm if I was able to hold the puppy. So I'm watching the whole thing play out and at this point I'm just really thoroughly disgusted. I was under the impression that the vanderpump brand was open to all races and cultures. Guess I was wrong. by the time I was able to hold the puppy I was so disinterested I just gave the puppy back. Nothing like being disrespected by someone who's probably not even old enough to be a millennial. It's 2019 what do you think I'm going to do stick a puppy in my purse and leave? I've been a kindergarten teacher for 17 years, my husband is a multi-platinum award-winning music producer who produced his first platinum album at the age of 18 which went on to be the anthem for the City of Long Beach. Together we own an information technology company exclusive to celebrity clientele. I guess it boils down to the fact that we can do work for celebrities, but we can't adopt a puppy from Vanderpump Dogs. Truly disgusting, hurtful and disrespectful it was a horrible visit. What an amazing place this is!!! We all obviously know how amazing Lisa and Ken our, but my personal experience was overwhelmingly amazing. My husband saved a dogs life after it had been hit by a car Friday night, so I contacted Vanderpump Dogs out of desperation to get this little guy a loving home after we had failed to find anyone that knew any information about his owners. Lisa and Ken grabbed him and showed him love immediately. Everyone that works and volunteers here are amazing people! read more

Everyone was so friendly working there! Wish they had more options on dogs, when my family visited only one dog was actually eligible for adoption at that time. Bought the gilt promo to get my dog groomed here. I had an appointment two weeks in advance for the next Saturday at 12 pm. When I arrived they "couldn't find" my reservation, great. They asked if I can come back the next weekend, which not only did I make my appointment two weeks in advance but I am going out of town next weekend and this was really the only day I could get this done. They groomer was nice enough to take my dog and squeeze him in. They said it would be about 5 hours because they would be working on him in between other dogs. I called about 4 hours in to check on him and they said it would be another hour. I arrived about an hour and 20 mins later and he is still not even close to being done. Another hour passes and 6.5 hours later I have my dog. Then fast forward to the next morning and I wake up to my dog having a swollen shut eye with pus. I took him to the vet and they did a test that showed he has a scratch on his eye. Now he's wearing a cone and has ointment and pain meds for $90. So 6 hours for grooming an an eye infection later, I do not recommend this place. read more

I had to wait close to half hour to inquire about a dog to foster first & possibly rescue . after waiting for Sarah for quiet a while,who BTW I think she thinks she is a vanderpumb & couldn't be bothered. refereed me to the receptionist who was on the phone none stop while Sarah could not be bothered with just a few questions I had about a dog there. the fees seem reasonable but of course I didn't get that far with these people since they had to take my application first & see if I'm a fit for the dog. They make the process so hard & I know now why people buy there dogs & not rescue. which is really sad. I have lost so much respect for places like these. Bottom line is Go to a shelter before these people get to them first & you wont have to pay as much & will be supporting a legitimate rescue place working for animals. read more

I've lived down the street from Vanderpump Dogs since they opened. Since that time, it has taken me over a year to make the commitment to adopt a new dog. During this time, I visited many shelters and rescues and found the process heartbreaking. What I consistently found on 3rd Street was a pleasant retail experience as I visited the dogs each week. The staff has always been friendly and eager to show me dogs or answer product questions. And yes, several dogs I liked found homes before I could return for the next look. But when I did become serious about a dog, Stephanie, Chad and Hannah could not have been more direct and helpful during the process. Each of them are exceptional in every way. After I signed the adoption paperwork they gave my new baby a bath and made sure she was fresh and ready to go. Having visited many shelters, it was worth the higher fees to shop locally and enjoy a boutique experience finding my rescue dog. Like all personal service businesses--hair and nail salons etc., I will try a variety of shops until I find a good match for my needs. However to throw mud at a non-profit working hard to create a new business model and saving lives sounds like a bitter housewife viewer at best and just another internet hater at worst. My husky Sofia was in much need of a bath & brush after visiting the local dog pond. The price was very reasonable. They brushed most of her undercoat out. She smelled great AND they painted her nails pink at my request. Don't judge! I would totally take her there to get pampered again should we find ourselves in LA again. read more

My friend and I were so excited to visit Vanderpump Dogs, we have been planning to go for months. I love Lisa Vanderpump and the work she is doing for dogs/animals. We finally went today but unfortunately we had a curious experience. There was a staff member on the floor, white with strawberry blonde/redhead, thin with glasses that kept following us around. I think her name was Heather. It felt more like policing than customer service. She didn't offer to help and we asked about merchandise she basically instructed us to fend for ourselves then continued to hover over us, making her behavior seem even more like policing rather than helping. There were approximately 5 other staff and this one staff person was the only one who behaved like this. Hopefully someone can train her to improve her customer service skills and be more sensitive about her behavior. We also happen to be brown and hope that had nothing to do with it... read more

I've been watching real Housewives Beverly Hills forever! When I saw Vanderpump Dog's, I was kind of intimidated to walk in, however, when I did walk in, I had the BEST experience. The customer service was exceptional, we were able to play and hold the dog we were interested in. We put in an application and a week later, we were able to adopt our pup!!! Not to mention, we got to meet Lisa when we picked up our puppy. They will definitely have my business for a very long time! read more

The ultimate 5 star experience! First and foremost, I made a decision to volunteer for a few hours as a way to get over my fear of dogs. I still can't believe I walked a dog! I want to thank the wonderful staff for making me feel so comfortable. The dogs were as sweet as can be and I no longer have a fear of dogs. The establishment is really nice and super clean. I expected Vanderpump Dogs to be a bunch of hot air and phony LA BS, I was wrong. Everyone is very polite and helpful. They do a great job with our 2 dogs, and the space is lovely. Best of all, the money goes to a great cause. Parking can be a bit of an issue, but other than that, I couldn't be more impressed. First let me start by saying that I am in the store quite frequently, each time I find the staff friendly and eager to help and the store immaculately maintained. The vibe is always upbeat and welcoming... how could it not when filled with dogs!? My partner and I have been searching for a new addition to our pack for some time and each time we're in Vanderpump Dogs we have our eyes peeled for the right fit for us. Well, we recently found one and the wait was SO worth it! Last week we adopted a dachshund/terrier mix puppy who we named Tucker. When I saw Tucker at Vanderpump Dogs he looked so happy, healthy and well cared for. You can tell that he had reeceived tons of love, attention, and care. Looking around their adoption area you can't help but smile. Their dogs are kept each in a spacious area, lots of food and water, tons of attention from the staff and visitors. I believe for these reasons that our new addition, Tucker, has adapted SO well to his new family and surroundings. He is 10 weeks old and we've had him home with us for almost a week with not a single accident in the house, he gets along with our other two dogs fantastically, and he has THE sweetest personality. During the adoption process I worked very closely with Payton, Mandy, and John. Each couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. If you're thinking about adopting I would definetely recommend asking for one of these folks - Payton is one of thier adoption specialist so she'd be the first I would ask for. The staff informed me very early on in the adoption process (when I was still looking at Tucker) about the condition he was found in, how he came to VP Dogs, and all that the staff did to care for the mother and her litter. I was really touched to hear of their dedication and focus on the welfare, healing and safety of each of their animals - especially all they did for Tucker and his litter mates! Thank you Vanderpump Dogs for all you do in the community, for the dogs you take in, for raising awareness to the atrocities of what is happening in Yulin and for bringing sweet Tucker into our lives! This was my first experience with dog grooming, I have a year old rescue Terrier. This place is close and super cute and thought it would be fun for my first time. Everyone seemed great & cheerful except for the groomer assigned to me....Brian. He was so disinterested in my dog. Didn't even acknowledge or ask his name. He acted annoyed and put out that we were there. I asked him for a "puppy cut" to which he said with such attitude "I don't know what that is??" So I showed him a picture of my dog as a puppy with his short hair, to which Brain replied in a very condescending tone. "You know he's not going to look like that? Like he's not going to get young again?" His tone and attitude was so bitchy. I couldn't shake it and then looked up the Yelp reviews after I dropped off my dog. Turns out Brian has been complained about many times for this exact rude behavior. So he wasn't just having a bad day. My dog did get a good cut, but I won't go back. The interaction with Brian was enough to put me off for good. He's so rude and should possibly find another career if working with puppies and dogs isn't bringing him joy. read more

I went there yesterday I was shocked to see how dog pee and poop was in the dogs holding area I got there around 10:45 and to see dogs walking in This was very unsanitary. Also if Lisa saw this she would not be happy. The entrance had trash needed to be picked up. Nice concept but felt the dogs area needed to be cleaner especially when you open up your store worker on phone chatting away volunteers don't clean the area they need help. We've taken our Pomeranian, Fox, here for the past few months. We moved to LA in February and bounced around each month until we found a place we loved. I'm familiar with Lisa from television, obviously, so I'll admit, that's the biggest reason we tried out Vanderpump Dogs. We were a few minutes early, arriving before opening, but the front desk attendant let us in to browse while things were getting set up. The store itself has a fun variety of toys, apparel, treats and food, and was obviously curated to Lisa's tastes. Top notch. The dogs available for adoption were kept in a separate area, which was clean, quiet and very cutely set up. Sophia was the groomer assigned to us for Fox's first appointment. He's never looked better, felt softer, and come out seeming so happy as he did that day. We've been there every month for four months now, and have no intention of taking him elsewhere. We're very happy with our experiences here so far, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a new groomer. read more

I purchased the baby cake for my friends dogs birthday, and it was unfortunately rock hard! It was impossible to cut through, so I lifted away the top frosting layer (also hard) and realized it was a burnt dry cake that turned rock hard. Looking at the cake from the bottom it was burnt so bad it turned black! This is unacceptable, and a waste of my time and money as well as utterly embarrassing. I reside so close, I wish this could be a reliable place for all my dog treats and accessories, but it's not! read more

My daughter and I were thinking of adopting another dog. We were making the rounds around town today and stopped in this place. It's pretty... the staff is less then friendly. The girl at the counter acted as if I was bothering her when we asked about adopting a dog. She nodded her head in a direction and simply said "over there". We weren't greeted when we walked in and they didn't really have anything To buy for larger dogs. We signed the waiver to go and see the few dogs they had for adoption. I guess that volunteers are in the adoption area. Again we weren't greeted and just kind of stared at for a minute. I asked to see one of the puppies much like the store i felt like I was bothering them. The volunteer didn't seem super knowledgeable about the adoption process. We were told one of the employees would help. Well after our experience with the employees or lack there of we just decided to leave. read more

My dog has gotten groomed at Vanderpump Dogs since we adopted her, and we have always had a good experience. We love that the profits go towards their rescue center. We recently used their new groomer Brian Marshall for the first time, and WOW my pup has never looked cuter! He was so kind and thorough in his consultation when I brought her in, and you can tell a lot of care went into her cut. She had a decent amount of matts since we haven't been able to get her groomed during quarantine, and he didn't shave her down. He was able to get the matts out, and still give an adorable cut. This place is not clean and the staff is dishonest. My dogs came in for a bath and grooming and when I entered my car after their grooming, my dogs had fleas. I have gone to this establishment many times, but after this I will never return. The staff attempted to say that my dogs came in with fleas, however another member of staff called me 2 hours before I picked up my dogs to inform me that another animal had fleas, so my dog's grooming would be delayed. This does not make sense. I believe this establishment has some sort of infestation and they are not being honest. read more

I called Vanderpump Pets to see if they accepted donations as my neighbor lost her beautiful Westie Jack and wanted me to help her dispose of all his things. They told me they would so I drove over to the store. I walked in and spoke to 1 girl who was looking after the adoption area and asked her if I could bring everything in. She said yes but never once volunteered to help me. Another girl with her hair in bunches came down the stairs while on the phone and asked what I wanted. Again I explained what I was there for. I went out to my car to bring in 150 wee wee pads, 3 beds, blankets. 4 bags of Cesar dog food and around 10 to 13 bowls and other things. I started to bring them into the store and there is a white picket fence right at the front so I started placing everything over the fence and going back and forward to my car to retrieve the rest. When I came back in with more items I was confronted rudely and told that "You can't leave all that stuff there". I was in shock because instead of helping move it to where they wanted it I was told to move it all. I was then again confronted by the pigtails telling me (while she was still chatting on the phone) "You better not have any open food because we don't want it". I was never asked the name of the poor dog that had died in order to allow such a huge donation to their cause. It is very sad that what Lisa Vanderpump is trying to do with this adoption location is amazing just to have it ruined by such rude employees. I myself have a 15 year old Yorkie and saw many things in the store that I would love to purchase for her bud given the rudeness I will never return there. I today will buy a card and give it to my neighbor in Vanderpump Pets name saying how happy they were to receive such a generous donation because this is what they should have done. read more
