I came here to buy a few gift cards. Dontee helped me and he was very nice. He gave me some gifts that I had no idea I would get with my purchase. And then he gave me an ice cube tray set for spending over $100. I was so excited about my free gift that I started to leave the store until Dontee flagged me down and let me know I left my gift cards on the counter! Chelsey was working beside him and I watched her patiently help a woman who had three kids running through the store pushing each other. Chelsey kept her cool and was very polite to the woman. We have been regular shoppers at this location for several years. It is a nice local store without the hub-bub of a mall. Today I came here to find a pair of shoes for my daughter. I was greeted immediately by Dakota. She was very sincere and friendly, she immediately asked what we were looking for and jumped into action. Unfortunately the style and size we were looking for was not available. And, of course, my daughter was not interested in anything else....so I was in a bit of a predicament. Well Dakota, was quick to offer multiple options, like ordering online or calling other stores. Although the other stores did not have, and online was out of stock we finally located at a mall in Moreno Valley. Regardless, Dakota was a refreshing service superstar and was sincerely committed to trying to locate our shoes. Great job Dakota!!! I went to this store yesterday looking for a very specific shoe type for myself and my son. It was an hour away so I called first to see if they had it in stock. They did so I asled them if they could hold the shoes until I got there in multiple sizes to ensure proper fit. No problem. It took us much longer to get there than planned but they still had the shoes on hold. Found the ones that fit perfect for us and grabbed a few other items as well. The staff here is top notch. I have brought my daughter here for clothes and shoes on many occasions and have been completely satisfied with the selection as well as the service. There's a wide variety of products available, so my daughter always finds something she likes. Also, the employees are always friendly, polite, and professional. Whenever we've had questions, they always answer them politely and demonstrate a lot of knowledge about the merchandise. Today, I called to inquire about the availability of replacement shoe laces for my daughter. The manager, Monica, informed me that Vans didn't sell laces specifically for the style of Vans that my daughter has. However, she had some extra ones left that she would give me free of charge. I dropped by to pick up the laces, and they were in perfect condition. This was such a kind gesture on the part of Monica. My girlfriend and I went into the store today and experienced horrible customer service. Right when we walked in, all four of the workers were huddled talking by the counter and did not greet us. When we were looking at shoes none of the four workers in the store offered to help us. Once we got up and getting ready to leave, finally one of the workers came up to us and asked if we needed a shoe size, which we declined after not getting acknowledged. I work in customer service/ retail myself and this is the worst I have seen. These employees need to be talked to and have better people skills. Please do better for your customers. read more

I'm glad that this Vans store is here in Downtown Redlands because I love Vans but I hate going to the mall to get them. It's so convenient to just park in the large, quiet Vons parking lot, go to Vans in just a few steps, and then buy some snacks at Trader Joe's two doors away. I remember when Vans used to be around $30 during my prime middle/high school days. Nowadays, old skools are double the price. I'm sad to think about the day when they go up to $90, maybe 10 years from now. But yes, in my last visit, I bought some Old Skools, probably my fourth pair ever in my lifetime. I opted for the version with the extra cushion which was $5 extra and worth it. The staff here is pretty friendly in making sure you try the shoes you are eyeing. The store is clean and well-kept, with plenty of good options for that SoCal weather. I scored a coupon for $20 in my next visit! They tend to have promotions like this often. I plan to use it soon for a backup pair. read more

I am so glad I thought of purchasing all 3 of my kids 1st pair of Vans here! Originally, I went to Leroy's on State Street to purchase shoes. I had each of my kids pick out 2 pairs to try on. It was more than apparent we are there to buy shoes. No one bothered to help us. There were 3 employees, 2 of which walked by us 3 times that completely ignored us. I was just here to purchase two pairs of shoes for my children (boy and girl, age 5) for school. Ashley and the whole crew were amazing. Not only did they bring us multiple sizes for each shoe each child wanted to try on (I limited my children to two pairs each to try), but they brought out styles the staff recommended. They took into account what our needs were, and brought us shoes to try accordingly. They were extremely patient, and offered to bring a variety of sizes to make sure my children got the absolute perfect fit. In addition, they measured my children's feet as well. Not only were they helpful, professional, and patient with us, but a huge group burst in while we were finalizing our choices (the group was actually pretty rude, and basically shoved us out of the kids' section) and demanded that staff bring them multiple sizes. Ashley and the staff somehow balanced finishing our visit and transaction with meeting the needs of the second group, all while being very patient. I have been a fan of the brand and that particular store since I was in middle school in the early 90s - next time my family needs shoes, we'll head over there first! read more

It was my first time coming to this store, but I had a really great experience since I don't purchase shoes very often and get decision paralysis with so many choices to go over. Dontee, one of the staff that helped me--was very patient in explaining the current styles he had in store, which ones were popular, which ones were great for walking/skating and a little interesting fact about the ones that caught my eye. He was very very knowledgeable about the product line and the history of each shoe and you can tell he takes the time to figure out what best suits your needs. Came for one but bought two! I visited on a Sunday afternoon without really knowing exactly what I wanted. The store was packed and there was hardly room to move around and see the shoes on display. The employees were all hopping and after a brief wait I was helped by Kimo. I was super indecisive and tried on at least 15 different shoes before I settled on a pair. Outstanding customer service....he never flinched as I kept asking for different shoes to try on. Just kept bringing out boxes with a smile on his face. I was planning to leave a 4 star review because the store is kind of small and the parking is a little tough but the great shopping experience is what kicked it up a star. All of the male sales people were helpful and courteous, but leave it to the only female in the store to be rude and snarky.
