I was so excited to try this coffee shop when visiting the area! When we walked in we were greeted by the baristas and were browsing the menu when I saw the food they had in the display. I immediately was drawn to the empanadas and had to get one. I decided on the beef one and it was actually SO GOOD! I would go back just for those. The dough wasn't too doughy and it was nice and crisp on the outside. The beef inside had great flavor too. The matcha strawberry croissant was good too! Definitely an interesting take. As for the drinks we got the ube matcha latte and matcha latte. The ube matcha latte was good but the ube flavor was so strong you couldn't taste the matcha, so I would recommend just getting the ube latte. The matcha latte was okay, it didn't have much matcha flavor in my opinion so if I go again I would try a regular latte and see how their coffee is! read more

Finally found a Filipino cafe! Always wanted to try ube latte and I think they nailed it. They used coconut milk for the pandan and ube latte, i think it helped enhance the flavor. Kapeng barako surely has a very strong kick, I was AWAKE. Iced pandan latte did remind me of buko salad, maybe we'll try the hot version next time and see if there's any difference. Also tried their adobo pandesal which kinda reminds me of siopao. We liked it. Staff were nice, place was neat and organized. coffee was excellent! unfortunately, the taller blonde with hearts on the back of her jeans working today was extremely rude. laughing and whispering to her fellow employee about a customer. it was very obvious and uncomfortable to watch. not to mention scratching the back of her neck and itching her hair and then touching the cups without gloves on. i'd go back for the coffee but the unsanitary mean girl vibes are not it. read more

Sweet shop! The fact that Filipino flavors are key really rings a bell for myself and my (Filipina) better half. The quality of the coffee is definitely an eye opener and the $25.00 price tag for a bag of beans does make sense as we're not talking ordinary arabica or robusta beans. The pastries are a nice hybrid between old-fashioned Filipino cooking and a modern twist.... I love the bibingka! As I sit here enjoying my lemon raspberry muffin and mango something cold tea, I'm surrounded by music by Bôa and a distinct yoga/Indian Wells soccer Mom vibe. I mean that in a good way. The girls behind the counter are funny and friendly. We talked about local attractions and I learned some new vernacular in the coffee house biz: if you want your coffee "dirty", you're asking for espresso shots. "Clean" means without. I had the ube matcha and it was 10/10. First time trying ube and it was delicious!! We also tried the pandan latte, it was super unique. It had a very nutty taste and was definitely not sweet, which is what I tend to like. My partner loved the ube matcha (actually the only matcha he has ever loved) & thought the pandan was okay but a little too different for him, so something to keep in mind if you dont love trying new things. Overall I would give this place 10/10 for flavor, diversity and service. Will definitely visit again if I'm in palm springs :) read more

There was a long line but it flew by fast. If you don't like things overly sweet, just ask to reduce the sweetness, not the end of the world. I'm coming back for their matcha. We were visiting the area and wanted to grab drinks before we headed out. Parking was a little limited, but we are always thankful for any parking. While small inside, it was a chill vibe with a cool little roaster in the front. My husband got the rose latte and I got the ube matcha, both were good, but a little underwhelming. However, we were both very pleasantly surprised with our food choices! My husband got the jalapeño cheddar bagel that was fresh and crisp, not greasy at all. I got the ube chia pudding and think about it all the time still. The service was super friendly but the line got long quick, so maybe call ahead if you're in a hurry. Overall good experience and would likely go back if we are ever in the area again. read more

The staff messed up our orders and when we had asked to get it fixed multiple times in a calm manner...... the dude with the eyebrows kept dismissing the mistake and told us he could just add the missing flavor to our banana q matcha since it's the "same thing". If I wanted a brown sugar matcha with banana flavor, I'd order that. Only complaining because it was 9 bucks to get a banana q matcha instead of a regular 7.50 matcha that was given to us. The service was not good in my opinion, I saw a video of this coffee shop on tiktok and decided to try it because they have a Ube Matcha Latte and I LOVE ube and have never heard of another shop that sells it here in the Coachella valley. And was excited to let them know I found them on tiktok. However, the service was really medicore there was so kindness that a coffee shop usually always brings to the table. Yeah they greeted me but just treated me like whatever. As for the drink, I prefer my matcha on the sweeter side and i know ube is pretty sweet but didn't know how the two would mix. Therefore, I asked the cashier if the drink is sweet because that's what I like and she just responded with...yeah...very dry. This is probably one of the best coffee shops you'll find in the middle of nowhere. My boyfriend and I make it a point to come here at least twice when we come to the desert and one is for the trip home. Idk where they source the pastries from but they're all so good. I usually get a Banana or Brown Sugar matcha latte but I recently tried the Brown Sugar latte and it's literally so good, their espresso is dialed so perfect even for the middle of a busy Saturday. The employees are also very nice and helpful, they always keep their area clean which is kind of impressive compared to other places I've been to. read more

Being Filipino and a Lipeno, I always say that the best coffee is Barako coffee. Whenever I go back to PI or have some relatives coming from PI, I always ask them to bring Barako coffee to US. I am so happy that we found Varraco. My husband's aunt and uncle brought us here when we visited today. It was nice to know that one of the owners is also a Lipeno. Everyone is sooooo nice. The place looks modern and it smells sooooo good inside. The coffee is the best!!! They also have delicious pastries Will definitely come back and bring some of our friends. First time trying this on a weekend getaway and it was really good. Picked up a strawberry matcha breve on Sunday morning and it wasn't busy but there is little to no inside seating. I don't even recall seeing a table inside. But the matcha was delicious and my only complaint is it only comes in one size. I expected a larger drink for the price. I didn't try the coffee or any bakery items(which looked unique and smelled heavenly). I would definitely recommend if you're wanting a local spot that is nothing like Starbucks or Dunkin. read more
