To say the Annex has changed mine and my now husband's life would drastically downplay it. There is no where else I would gladly be at at 6:30am except the Annex. Caitlin Hogan has created one of the most inclusive places I've ever spent my time. On days I don't show up for myself, my coach Nic texts me to check in. He is kind, warm, brilliant and loves to make fun of me as much as I love to make fun of him. On days I do show up I know I will always be pushed to be the best version of me by my coaches and classmates, but understood if I just want to sit in silence that day if I'm hurt or going through something. Caitlin also offers meal coaching which has helped get my husband and I in the best shape of our lives (he's lost and kept off 40lbs) and she has shown us the tools on how to continue to take care of ourselves outside of the gym. Caitlin also has taught me how to delay dying with weekly Kinstretch classes. It's a movement enhancement system that develops maximum body control, flexibility and usable range of motion. My body thanks me often when I go regularly and gets mad at me when I take too long of a delay. If you are looking for a new place to work out, look no further. I was one of those individuals who never liked working out, partly due to my lack of confidence in a gym setting, especially the ones that cater to a much younger crowd. The staff could not be friendlier, more supportive, or competent. These are students and teachers that have made fitness/wellness their life's work, and are well aware of my physical strengths and limitations. There are group fitness classes, personal trainers, and informational lectures. I have been part of their Strength for Living program since joining the LifeFit Center. S4L is a 16-week program, consisting of 8-10 participants, meeting 2 or 3 days per week. Pre-, mid-, and post-assessments help track your individual progress. I have just signed up for my third S4L session, and plan on continuing. The LifeFit Center is an extremely affordable facility for anyone, 50 or older, who is looking for something perfectly tailored to them!

Anyways, from my undergrad experience, the rock climbing wall was one of the best to get people into rock climbing. Secondly, the indoor running track provides space to the overall gym giving it a less crowded environment, and the equipment provided was well utilized. You often had people hogging the weight section so there was never really a good time to use that. The yoga and pilates classes or individual courses were offered but it never seemed to be around when a majority of students were available to use it. I really liked the Robeks that was on the first floor. I'm not sure if it's there anymore, but it's nice to had a large indoor seating area to eat before you actually went into the gym to study.

As someone returning to exercise, I felt genuinely welcomed from day one.
