Called ahead to have a vehicle I was highly interested in ready for me to look at. I took off of work early so I would have time to do paperwork, etc. Walked in with $4,000 cash to put in for a down payment. Have excellent credit rating, asked to negotiate the price down slightly from $39,995 to $38,000 and was told No and that they couldn't budge off of the price a penny to make any money. My husband was entrusting me with picking out this vehicle and gave me a number that we could do...and the fact that they weren't willing to budge "even a penny" was very disheartening. I walked in ready to buy a vehicle on the spot, within the hour, and they turned me away over my request of a $1,995 lower price. I would have felt much better about a counter-offer but instead they stuck with the fact that apparently that $1,995 would be their only profit. I drive a Lincoln MKS and have had 2 other Lincolns in the past including 1 Lincoln Navigator, but never bought from Varsity Lincoln in Novi. I decided to try them because I found a great-looking Navigator and I've had vehicles serviced their before, as recent as this month. They have turned a very happy and excited potentially new (for them) Lincoln customer into one that will be shopping at another Lincoln dealership due to this upsetting experience. read more

I took my Ford to get an oil change. I had a coupon that I received in the mail. The rep stapled it to the work order but the coupon was never credited! I was told it would be 1 1/2 hours. I waited in the service waiting room. After 90 minutes I went to the service rep who checked in my car to request the status. He said they were very busy today and it would be another 45 minutes. Nice of them to let me know! After 45 minutes I went back to the service rep's desk. He wasn't there. I waited for anyone to tell me about my car. I happened to look out to the parking lot - there sat my car! No one bothered to let me know it was ready-no one came to tell me in the waiting room, no cell phone call, no home phone call. If treating non Lincoln owners like second class citizens is how they prefer to do business, it is certain that I won't be buying a Lincoln from them!!! read more

Pat the service manager called and they are bringing a loaner car out to my office and picking up my car. This is the type of service I was promised. Changing my review from 1 star to 5 stars. I purchased my Lincoln from Jim Montroy at Varsity Lincoln. He was great to work with but so far the dealership has fallen short on their promises. Jim talked about how great the service was at Varsity and that if I ever had an issue the dealership would provide a loaner. This morning I had the wrench light come on and the car won't get up to speed. I call to make an appointment and am told no loaner is available until Friday. This is the second time I've had what I consider to be a major issue and the dealership can't provide a loaner. The previous time I had to have the car towed to Seymour Lincoln in Jackson because they had a loaner. I didn't buy a Lincoln to have it break down, but I realize these things happen. My issue is that the key selling point for me was that I would not be without a vehicle if something did go wrong. These poor service experiences have turned me off from considering Varsity Lincoln for my next vehicle purchase and most likely from buying another Lincoln product. I'm still waiting for a call back from the service manager, Pat Stevens, because the Enterprise location across from the dealership is where they get their loaners. According to that enterprise location they have vehicles available. So frustrating. read more

I have worked with the service department twice and both times have been atrocious. Today, I had to call in 4 times. The first 3 times the operator said she was transferring me to the service department but it would just go to voicemail. I finally got through on the fourth time and spoke with the biggest jerk ive ever spoken with in my life. I explained I had an issue with my car, which I believe was covered by a warranty. I just wanted to see if there was a diagnostic fee if it wasnt covered by the warranty. The guy kept arguing with me saying there was no warranty without ever checking. I told him there was definitely a warranty. I had spoken with ford yesterday and they confirmed that there was. The only question was whether the issue my car had was the same issue that was covered by it. He kept arguing about the warranty even though that wasn't my question. I offered to provide him with the warranty reference number and he said it didnt matter and wouldn't take it. He said none of it mattered since my car needed service and had to be taken in. I agreed that my car needed service but explained that it didn't mean I was taking it there, which I am definitely not. Please avoid this place at all costs. read more

Always had a good experience in Service ... until today. I stood by my vehicle for at least 15 minutes before my presence was even acknowledged by anyone on the service drive. I don't mind waiting ... and I understand the busy nature of the service lane ... but management needs to find a way to identify customers coming in to the service lane and acknowledge their presence. A simple "Hi, we're busy but will be with you shortly" is all that's needed. Hire a senior citizen. Learn from Walmart. People will forgive almost anything if you just let them know that you SEE them. read more

I did my homework and found my dream car at Varsity Lincoln. I commuted from Cleveland, Ohio, to the dealership and met with Ben who I had corresponded with before arriving onsite. He had the car out and ready for the test drive. The dealership took care of me while they processed the paperwork for my trade-in, checked my credit score, and completed the documents to close the deal. Being from out-of-state, Ben made sure that I had all the necessary papers to assist with plates and registration. After weeks of waiting, Ben kept in contact with me to make sure I received the Ohio plates and registration. He made my purchase worthwhile. I recently turned in my Lincoln MKS. I could not be happier to get rid of that car. Multiple repairs including 3 bearing replacement , new steering wheel, new traction control which put smoke through the car, alignment issues, gas smell... all in less then 3 years ! The customer care team at Lincoln was awful and should be ashamed at the lack of concern and service. They offered no help and would always just refer me back to the dealership, saying it's not their job to help with this ? I even talked to the dealership manager. That was interesting, his suggestion was "well let's get you in a new Lincoln when it's time." He said he had no one to talk with at Ford/Lincoln and suggested I try the 800 service number if I was unhappy with yeah car. The only bright spot has been Pat , the service manager , who came through trying to rectify issues as they arose. He has my vote for new dealership manager! If you buy a Lincoln, good luck. Based on my experience, you will need it ! The dealership left me feeling very let down. The Lincoln brand left me feeling disgusted that this is Fords top line product. Shame on both !! read more

I was leasing a new car from Varsity Lincoln. However, before I signed the contract, the incentives or something expired and the payments increased. I decided to shop around some more. The leasing agent got PISSED, told me off over the phone, followed by a nasty text demanding I buy the car because of "his hard work" lol. I couldn't believe it... I'm currently shopping for an MKC and I wouldn't step foot in here! I direct my friends elsewhere because he was so rude. Also, the promotions advertised (free TV, cash back, etc) never materialized. I was looking for a quality used vehicle for my fiancé, and I came across their massive certified mkz inventory. I live over 3 hours away in Ohio; due to my strict work schedule I could only come out on a Tuesday. They were willing to hold the car for me for almost a week based solely on my word that I would buy it. Used car aren't perfect, but these were close. They repainted the rear bumper in a spot I found troublesome as well as touch and blending the other spots I wanted done. Sam had everything ready for me to drive and sign. Unfortunately it was his day off so Ben helped me through the rest of the process. Steven is a no pressure, only facts finance guy and explained why I had to pay the tax difference between MI and Ohio. I love my MKZ, and I've never seen one with the terra cotta interior. My experience to get my oil changed was not a good one. I was told it would be one hour. After an hour and a half, I checked with an attendant & was told, sorry we are backed up; shouldn't be too much longer. Over two hours I waited!!! Then upon completion of my car, they told me someone would pull it around. Waited another ten minutes; checked with an attendant to only realize, it was parked on the lot. To make matters worse, I called the Varisity GM & left a voice message advising of my bad experience. Never got a return call. Adding insult to injury, the very next day, my tire light went on showing one of my tires had low air. Wasn't that something they were supposed to do? They told me they would check tire pressure!!!!! I would not ever recommend anyone get their car serviced at this dealership. I was not initially greeted when I got there for a service appointment I had, in fact one of the men in the service area initially turned his back as I approached, probably hoping I wouldn't ask him a question. But the main complaint I have is with one of the elderly service men named, Chuck Weisman, I was too outdone when I heard him(as I was standing near his desk), calling my fiancée a dumb ass at least 3 times as he was attempting to pull my car in for service. If anything, I believe that would make Chuck Weisman the DUMB ASS in my opinion! I will never recommend this dealership period and am considering buying anything other than a Lincoln in the future. read more

Coming into Varsity Lincoln for an oil change is an experience. I called the day before Thanksgiving and it was a 4 hour wait. I came in Friday at 6:50am and was about the 7th car in line. Therefore, I had to wait almost two hours for an oil change, which is long. They do a great job and I have no complaints other than the wait. Next time, I plan to come at 6:40 and hope to be first or second in line. read more

When it is an emergency situation and you call on a Saturday at 1PM, and they tell you to come in and they will have you out by 4,and they do exactly what they said they would do, and charge you less than they quoted, and get you out by 3:30, that's all you can ask for!
