I visited Japan late last year and it was the best travel experience of my life, so to have a little slice of it here in my little town of Laguna Niguel is so special. And it's open early enough for the Finance Girls! The word that comes to mind is authentic. The barrels of beans waiting to be roasted in the front, the minimal menu, the pour-over style coffee for every cup, the chic industrious decor, super friendly service from every barista. It's hard for me to want to make coffee at home when I can have this! Worth every penny. Can't wait to gift my loved ones with bags of their freshly roasted beans. Do not sleep on Maméya!

Easily 10 out of 5 stars…read more I've been coming here since they first opened about three years ago and can honestly say this is hands down the best coffee in SoCal. Genuinely surprised I haven't left a review sooner. It's a small, quaint shop with a clean and mellow interior, relaxing jazz playing in the background, and aroma of freshly brewed coffee that always transports me back to Japan. Daisuke and his team greet everyone with such genuine warmth that you immediately feel welcomed. Their hospitality is unmatched, but what keeps me coming back is the consistency. Every drink is made with care, and they're always happy to take the time to explain the differences between their beans, recommend something based on your preferences, and answer any questions without ever making you feel rushed. You can tell they truly care about both their craft and their customers. I usually order the café au lait, and it's the only coffee shop where I'm confident in asking them to make it however they like. Every now and then I'll also pick up a bag of their beans to brew at home, and I highly recommend doing the same. They carefully help you choose from their wide variety, then grind the beans for you or sell them whole if you have your own grinder. Grinding fresh beans takes about 15-20 minutes, so if you're driving from farther away, I'd recommend calling ahead or placing an order through their website for pickup. The quality of the coffee speaks for itself, but what really sets this place apart is the experience. It's rare to find a coffee shop where both the product and the people are this consistently exceptional. Where most coffee shops tend to rush you out I think the difference here is that you genuinely feel welcomed. Wishing Daisuke and the entire team nothing but continued success. They deserve every bit of it. If you're looking for incredible coffee, authentic Japanese hospitality, and a place that genuinely cares about what they serve, do yourself a favor and stop by. You won't regret it.

It took us awhile to find the coffee shop, and it was pretty empty when we arrived. The actual spot is cozy, with just a few tables around. We ordered a few items and chilled for a bit. I tried these: Einspanner Matcha Latte - Amazing! I got this with banana cream foam since the worker said it was her favorite, and it did not disappoint! (5/5) Hojicha Fruit Latte - We got this with strawberry, and it was amazing. Great balance and so refreshing. (5/5) Ube Mochi Brownie - They warmed this up for us, and it was so good. Would easily get this again. (5/5) Definitely a hidden gem that not many people know about since it's kind of tucked away. Really good drinks and lots of unique options. A must try!

I was really excited because if you have this many people in your shop it must be good. The downside, you order on a kiosk. In going through the menu this cafe is more of a matcha/ tea cafe than coffee. I ordered the cold brew with Vanilla Cream cloud. The drink was just ok. The only time that I had any interaction with the employee was when they called my number to pick up my drink. Ambiance 3/5 Drink 3/5 Service 3/3

They have lots of pastries and we opted for the pineapple bun and chocolate cream pastry. The pineapple bun had a great crispy outer shell and fluffy warm bread inside, and the chocolate cream pastry was also fluffy and warm that it almost felt like biting into a chocolate cloud. The bakery is lively with lots of associates working in the back and front, so the line does move relatively quickly. Super impressed with just how good of a quality pastry this bakery can offer, it's a warm and inviting store front with some outdoor seating and is a must stop for anyone who loves a good pastry!

The Japanese one has a nice crunchy buttery crust at the bottom and is a little longer in shape but both are equally delicious, salty, and buttery. We especially liked the red bean one at Okayama. The curry pan was warm and fresh! Beware the spicy one is quite spicy We also enjoyed the fish filet and the matcha mochi red bean. The melon pan was just ok for us.
