Staff seemed very uneducated. I had one of the vets googling diagnosis while I was telling her what was wrong with my dog. We went on 4 or 5 different occasions to get my dog's ears and skin treated for an infection and they just up charge you for a bunch of tests that come back with "no results" when there is clearly visible swelling, redness, etc. Staff just seemed apathetic. They didn't care to be there and they didn't care to help. read more

While the name states Terrell Mill, this particular VCA Animal Hospital is technically located on Powers Ferry...but it does happen to be very near the intersection of both roads, so either way you end up here! We have followed VCA's around the city as we moved, as they always, no matter the location, have taken care of our little dude, Tucker! As many dogs do, I think he gets nervous when he realizes where we are, but immediately gets happy and pumped when they call his name to come back! From the Tech's to the Vet's to the Front Office, anyone we interact with is always joyful, helpful and dedicated to ensuring our little fella is well taken care of! Given COVID era, they aren't allowing anyone to come past the main second set of doors for obvious reasons. With this new rule in place, they are doing all payment virtually by providing a link for you to pay with then they meet you in the vestibule with your pet. They are always masked and gloved up before picking your pet up or delivering them to you. We are part of their VCA program, where we pay a set amount each month that covers visits and a few other things. It's well worth it, especially in those cases where we have taken Tucker in multiple times in one month! Also gets good prices on prescriptions and covers annual teeth cleaning! Overall, VCA is our go to spot! I am happy there are a few around the city, so in the event we move again, we will still be sure to find our local VCA office! read more

I trust VCA and their employees with my baby, which says a lot because I have a hard time putting my dog in others' hands. They are now allowing parents to come inside with the dogs again since covid. You can make an appointment online on their website, and you will receive appt reminders via text. My experience with Taryn made me feel comfortable and cared for. She was patient with my dog and even walked him outside for me while I paid because he was reactive to other dogs! Dr. Ringer was also very patient and friendly during her assessment and informed me of my options, seeming understanding of the need for budget-friendly options. read more

Absolutely loved this place! I just moved from Central Florida and finding a new vet was not something I was looking forward too. I made an appointment quickly and easily. Especially with it being so short notice. I was just wanting to do an introduction meeting with the doctor and vet tech as Leon was caught up on everything. The place was easy to find and parking was no problem. Upon entering the office area, it felt clean and they had it even decorated so cutely for fall. The woman at the front desk was nice and accommodating. I sat for all of 3 minutes and was seen quickly. The vet tech was SO NICE! Leon loved her (and The Dr. as well!) They were very informative and overall wonderful to be around. There was one "issue"'regarding Leon's health and they both were very assuring. Cannot say how much I love this place and the people I. We have taken many of our animals to VCA and for 4 yrs I would have given them 5 plus stars but as stated in other reviews I. The past year everything has changed. We had originally been able to schedule Saturday appointments, which was awesome with working schedules, but that changed about a year ago and within the last year, we've never seen the same vet more than once. The turnover rate at this hospital is horrible one of our German Shepherd was put on Prozac by a vet there and when we went to follow up we told them we didn't see a change and we're basically by the new vet telling us we must be first German Shepherd owners. I have owned German Shepherd, my entire adult life and my husband and I even raised for a while and took very good care of all of our German shepherds after being belittled for 15 minutes my husband asked where are you going with us? Are we going to get help with what we came in for only to receive silence we grabbed the dogs leash headed to the car headed to the desk to make sure there was nothing I needed to take care of and cancel my appointment, and have taken to every site to warn other parents about how bad this hospital has gone downhill. Truly breaks my heart as I put two of my dogs to rest at that hospital with the compassion of the rest of the staff getting us through those moments. I truly am sorry that this has become what it has. I warn you if you're looking for a vet or you're looking to get your animal spayed one of my Alice needs I also was told there was a waitlist over six months long to get her spayed And neuter?? if my dog gets pregnant, of course I am the bad dog owner anyway be informed !!! read more

As we had a great experience with our dog Nikita and how the staff treated her, we took our Shar-Pei "Sultan" there today to have a mass on his chest checked.  And really, I'm writing again this review to congratulate Ana and Dr. Rodriguez for their professionalism and ethics.  For example Dr Rodriguez was over the phone with my husband for more than 20 minutes answering all our questions and made sure he understood the process we need to do with our dog Sultan.  And Ana was amazing again and gave Sultan the same affection she gave Nikita when we brought her for the first time few weeks ago.  You can see that she is there because she loves dogs, she loves her profession and that's why she delivered great customer service and experience.  I fully recommend to take your pet with Dr. Rodriguez and Ana and if you are Spanish speakers, both of them speak also Spanish. read more

Terrell Mill has been caring for our dogs for 30 years. We have never been disappointed. All personnel from the Vets, to the Techs and office staff are helpful, cheerful and welcoming. The Veterinarians are the best. Our "Monster" 110# Black Lab, Chipper, is under the care of Dr. Preis. He loves her. Actually driving down from Canton Chipper starts barking in anticipation of his visit at about the Loop on I-75. How many dogs do that. Quite often it's the little things that make Terrell Mill special. Today a heavy rain came up and my car windows were open. We have been clients since following our previous vet Dr. Monroe after she became the director. It was confirmed today that Dr Monroe, all other permanent vets, and the manager have all left. What a mess. We have not liked VCA since day one. I can't speak to what goes on behind the scenes but it became clear to us that there were ways in which the vets did not have flexibility - and we were being nickel and dimed. Today we have a sick dog and they don't have enough people to see any sick pets. After two months of not receiving a single email or text answer and getting dodgy answers, our pets are behind on vaccines and meds because instead of telling us the situation up front, they gave us zero answers and evaded emails. My husband finally had to go in person to get meds and find out what was happening. Unbelievable. Do not go to a VCA hospital. There were amazing people there, but clearly this organization is deeply flawed. read more

They don't even deserve one star but there is not an option for no stars. We took our dog there many many years ago for a skin condition. WeThe first thing I asked about was switching her diet. They said there was no reason to switch her diet. For about a year or so it was steroids and six weeks of antibiotics. Two months later all over again. For months we dealt with this and spending hundreds of dollars. We moved and I got the opinions of 5 other vets. Their first question was "Did they change her diet?" I changed her diet and she never broke out in the condition again. They were just bleeding us dry. read more

I've been going to VCA Terrell Mill for 20 years but no more. Ever since they became part of the VCA network it has been a constant turnover of staff and Vets. Last Spring they started closing on Saturdays (first red flag) and yesterday I called to make a routine dental appointment and was told they have a 3 1/2 month WAITLIST because they have no permanent Doctors on staff now (2nd and final red flag). I have even had my pets enrolled in the VCA pet insurance program for many years and it is very convenient (but a bit pricey and limited to one specific VCA hospital that you enroll at) - I loved it. Rarely any out-of-pocket expenses for routine visits. However, in January '23, my fur baby was suddenly vomiting and lethargic. I immediately took her there and after a routine routine exam - they sent me home with some anti-nausea meds. Six hours later I was at the emergency vet (thank you Dogwood!) where they told me my dog had developed sepsis and was ~ 12hrs away from death. I was very angry at VCA Terrell MilI and will not forget that experience with them. Now I'm taking my pet care to another Vet practice. Take it from me and Julie S from 7/5/2023 - until they get their act together - beware. read more

So I have been here two times now. The first time was to get my little puppy thoroughly bathed and groomed as he is a Golden mix and sheds like crazy. Anyway I gave them a call to make an appt on a Saturday. Their receptionist told me I could drop him off without an appt and that they closed at 1pm. I brought him early, and since this was his first appt ever with this vet, they offered an complimentary exam which I quickly took. Per Dr Robinson, my pup required vortadella shot which I was more than happy to comply with for only $20. Given that the grooming was only $35 I thought it was not bad overall. I ended up meeting with the vet, Dr Robinson, which was very sweet towards my Bambam, and answered any questions that I could have had. She gave me extra info for emergency ven care in case we had issues after hours, and recommendations on when my little guy needed his next round of shots. Overall the experience was great. The place was well lit, people were nice an offered patrons water while waiting, had various specialty food for your pet, and a common area where you could keep your dog on a lieash but still socialize with other dogs. I really enjoyed my visit and thought that the vet had great recommendations and truly cared for Bambam. read more

This is the worst animal hospital ever. People appear sweet but front desk staff has no clue as to what they are talking about especially if you have rescued a pet from the humane society. They overcharge you by telling you one price over the phone or with the prior visit, but when you get there give you a different price. It reminds me of a mechanic shop, I shouldn't feel afraid to bring my pet in because I know I will leave spending much more than what was originally quoted. Also, when speaking to a front desk receptionist she told me that she wouldn't have anyone call me back unless I asked her the question... Stay in your lane, we all have to in order for traffic to flow smoothly. The way I operate is speaking to a subject matter expert to get accurate information to make these more efficient. My advice will be to stay away, just go to the animal hospital in Petsmart. read more

I went here solely bc it was a free wellness visit offered by the Humane Society when I adopted my cat. I have long term experiences with 2 other vets that I would choose any day over this place. The staff is unprofessional...to put it nicely. I was the very first appointment and there were a ton of staff moseying around. None of them made eye contact or said hello. One lady was coughing up who knows what at the computer. Another lady was in an exam room putting on her makeup in plain sight. I waited 10 mins to be seen even though no one else was there. The office itself is very dated. There was hair all over the waiting room benches so clearly it wasn't cleaned from the day before. The only positive...the Doctor was nice enough and should work at a better vet. Oh..and you'll get a "kitten bag" which includes fifty brochures, a sample bag of food that is a different brand than what the Humane Society gives (it's best to be consistent with the food, especially when they're already stressed in a new home), a broken food toy ball thingy and a measuring cup. Woohoo... Take the free visit then find yourself a legit vet that cares about the people who walk through their doors. read more

Understanding and worked to get her feeling better, one of the most patient vets I have met. They called several times to check on her after the visit. They push you to pay for unnecessary treatments such as bad vaccines so that they can make money. Me and my boyfriend adopted our puppy from the humane society where we would get our first visit here. The 1st 2 times they were great and the doctor even helped us out bc she knew we were college students. Now our last few visits with them it seems to be a different staff everytime and they are always trying to upcharge us on stuff we don't need, they even took a test without discussing it with us and charged us $50 for it. We would drive 35+ mins to come here and our dog is super anxious when he goes and it seems like they just get annoyed and don't care. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE!! The doctors are so insistent on vaccinating your pets, which led to my cat getting Fibrosarcoma (cancer). They care more about getting paid than the well being of your pet. My cat went in for his yearly check-up and the doctors said NOTHING about his enormous tumor. It wasn't until 2 weeks AFTER the check-up, that we noticed his odd behavior, and took him in again. They finally diagnosed him and, at the time, the tumor was only on the muscle (it had not reached the bone). Fast-forward to 2 WEEKS LATER, the tumor spread to his bone, because it took so long just to get an appointment to get the biopsy done. On top of all of this mess, the consultation (not the actual surgery, THE CONSULTATION) isn't for another week...which means it is very likely the tumor will spread more and there's no saving him. Because of Terrell Mill's ignorance, poor Edgar has the most aggressive type of feline cancer. The doctors are not giving us ANY information on possible options for treatment, besides the possibility of amputation. We are currently looking into a lawsuit. read more

Luvs V is 100% correct. I've been using this vet since the 1990s and have brought all my pets there since. They lost my business today when their rude office person, Trent Driskel, hung up on me when I asked him to stop interrupting me on the phone. I went to the office a short while afterward to get my cat's records since now I'll have to find another vet, and there wasn't a single patient waiting there - just about 6 staff people standing around chit chatting. They didn't even apologize for hanging up on me and behaving so unprofessionally. We're really sad that their terrible office staff has run us off because Dr. Miller is wonderful, and so are the vet techs we've seen. But if a veterinary clinic doesn't care about your loyalty and business, it doesn't care about your pet. We hope Dr. Miller will find a new practice and let us know. read more

Today was one of the worst days of my life. Me and my boyfriend went to Terrell Mill with our puppy Samson who was very sick and there wasn't much we could do not involving an arm and a leg. We made the very tough decision to put him down, I have never cried so much in my life. We only had him for 3 weeks and already he had seeped his way into our family and our hearts. Dr. Stevenson and the staff at Terrell Mill were so understanding and sweet. After Samson had passed away they gave us as long as we needed and when we were ready they would come get him. They said they would make a print of his paw and give it to us which is so kind, not a lot of vets are so caring. I am grateful for the time we had with Samson and grateful for everyone at Terrell Mill. read more

The service at Terrell Mill Animal Hospital is the best you could ask for. Our family has taken all our animals there since I was 12 and now 15 years later, I don't trust my pets to anyone but Dr. Huggins. The price is a little much, but you really get what you pay for.
