Don't dine in on your lunch break UNLESS you ORDER ahead, especially on a Friday! Ambiance: simple, needs personality, but somewhat clean. There's only one chef (talented) and one chef apprentice/server; both super nice! Keep improving, and if the food is what's bringing people back, take colorful pictures of the food and make that your wall art. Food was amazing! We had miso soup (not sure if the missing tofu was intentional), spicy edamame, cucumber avocado roll, LB roll, rainbow roll and spicy crispy tuna roll. Their sushi rolls here stack up to the competition and I am so jealous of folks that live around here and can get this more often than me. We ordered three rolls: Shrimp Tempura, Long Beach, and the Red Dragon Roll. Each order hovered from $12 - $15 and came with 6 - 10 pieces each. For it to all be vegan, those are extremely good prices for delicious food. Skip the avo & cucumber rolls - you have something better! The Red Dragon and Long Beach rolls were my favorite. Each using plant-based proteins for the seafood and combining it with sauces that really take the rolls to a new level. They also prioritize the aesthetics game so it feels like you're paying for $20 sushi rolls in DTLA. Service here was super friendly and chill. They recommended how many rolls we should get for our party and payment at the cashier after made it easy. It looks to be a small business so get out here and support. The rolls are so flavorful and textured, and the presentation is always beautiful, especially when you dine in. This is my favorite place to bring non-vegans because they're always so impressed. This is a good option if you're craving vegan sushi. It wasn't my favorite vegan sushi spot but it's decent. We got a variety of things to try and each was unique but the base was all the same. The fish taco was pretty good and I would definitely get that again! If you're craving miso soup just be careful of their miso because it has more of a vinegary taste and doesn't taste like the typical miso soup. The lime made it for me! Each bite was so good and I actually thought this was going to be my least favorite but it ended up being my favorite. The portions are huge! You get a lot for what you pay for. However, the sushi for me was just eh. Some pieces (many of them) were a lackluster as far as taste. I found the sushi to be blah, heavy and dry. Have water nearby and be prepared to take a nap afterwards. I liked the crunch roll better than the dragon roll, but if I'm being honest, I wouldn't repurchase either one. It's always just one guy in there running the register, cooking the food and bussing the tables, no small feat. Yet, the food is always spectacular. I've came in twice and both times I sat down with a menu and was never asked for my order. After 30 minutes I finally got up and asked if I can order. I guess it's not a sit down despite the restaurant seating. (Order at the front and pay if you want your order put in.) I then waited another 30 minutes for my order. Seems like he prioritizes online orders than customers who sit down. It's a one man show so expect a 45 minute to an hour long wait even when not busy. My advice to better the business is to hire employees and to greet each customer / tell them how they can order, instead of letting them sit around. STEPH JUDGEMENT: Good vegan sushi rolls in an unexpected location. When I heard there was a good vegan sushi place on the west side, I was pretty surprised. Reading the rhapsodic Yelp reviews, however, I knew I had to try it. We decided to order for pickup and got the Shrimp Tempura, Ocean, and Red Dragon rolls. They traveled pretty well and still looked good by the time we got home. As we started eating, we had a hard time distinguishing one from the other as most of them share some of the same ingredients and were all generously slathered with their signature sauce--even one of the rolls which wasn't supposed to be sauced, I don't think. Overall they were tasty, but a little too much sauce for our taste. It's not going to supplant Kensho in Westminster as our favorite vegan sushi place, but in a pinch will do. So due to a new diet, I have been uncertain what I can eat and where I can eat. Since this a local eatery and open 4 months ago, we decided to try it out. The restaurant is located right on the corner in Westside Long Beach. The dining area isn't really decorated yet but I'm sure they will do that soon. We ended up ordering through Yelp and it does take awhile so not sure if they gets lots of takeout orders or what but we waited an hour. We ended up ordering the Long Beach roll, Volcano roll, and the Crunchy Shrimp roll. There was so much flavor but if you aren't a fan of spice, make sure to order your rolls without the spicy mayo. Did not taste vegan at all, and that was the beauty of this beautifully crafted selection of dishes that I ordered. Everything was so beautiful I really felt bad about eating it. Welp sorry but we need our veggies lol so there were no surviving dishes in this healthy situation.
