    Reliable Air Mechanical replaced my old furnace with a high efficiency one and installed a new A/C system. The work was professionally and efficiently completed in a day. Communication with the company was great and the crew arrived as scheduled to start the work. Replaced all the old fiberglass insulation as well. Made sure all the wall openings made to accommodate the pipes/coils were properly sealed when finished. Overall a job well done.

    Exposed tubing

    After reviewing the Yelp reviews and ratings, I purchased a new HVAC system with this company in September 2021. I paid to relocate the furnace to the attic and install a new AC unit in the backyard. Their service was amazing in the beginning. They were very pleasant and great at communicating via email. It only took about 3 days to install everything. Once I paid them, things took a turn because the HVAC system started having issues. I paid a large sum of money to a professional for everything including passing the inspection, but it did not happen the first time. It took some time for them to correct it as they were trying to put the responsibility onto me by having me contact PG&E to fix the pipes. This is their expertise. They eventually installed another pipe along the old pipe that connected the HVAC system to outside and it passed the second inspection. I had requested for a more updated thermostat that looked similar to an Ecobee prior to installation, but they forgot and installed the standard one. It wasn't a big deal and I wasn't charged for it so I decided to just keep it. Note: my tenants don't really use the HVAC in general so they didn't routinely check it if it was working until the temperature was too hot during the summer of 2022. That's when they noticed a problem: the AC wasn't working as the living room and some other rooms weren't getting cold at all. I called the company. They sent someone out and it turns out the transformer box was broken so they promptly fixed it. That was great! I was impressed at how fast they were. Even after that, my tenants rarely turned on the AC due to utility costs. In June 2024, the HVAC started to fail again. The warranty for labor was for 3 years (expire in September 2024). The warranty for the parts was for 10 years (expire in September 2031). That means I was still under warranty. I contacted the company of the company in June 2024 because there were still some more issues: - When AC is on, it takes an hour to cool down by 2 degrees. Only some rooms of the house are a little cooler. When heater is on, it takes an hour to get warmer by 1 degree. - Stuffing from tubing is completely exposed (see picture). It was exposed more than 3 months ago when my tenants last checked in March 2024. My tenant had mentioned it at least twice to the HVAC guy, but he only checked the box not the tubing. Per contract, everything was to be replaced. Was the tubing really replaced? Why would the tubing be exposed so quickly? If I'm still under warranty, then it should be fixed. - Lack of communication: during the four months of emailing and phone calls, the secretary told me that the boss will call me. The boss Phil responds via email in October 2024: "Forward her to customer service." No one followed up with me. I called the office again. Boss finally set up a meeting for December 2024 (6 months after I first contacted them about the issues). In October 2024, a staff member came to take a look at the issue and said everything looked great. Nothing was done. I double checked and the airflow wasn't the same in all of the rooms. Some rooms had strong airflow whereas some would have none. In December 2024, the boss came to check the vents and he had agreed that some of rooms weren't getting enough air flow. He sent his staff member over that same day, which was helpful. They said that something was dirty. They cleaned it and now everything is okay. They didn't do anything to the tubing, which is still exposed. They did change the dampers to improve the airflow to other rooms specifically the living room. The boss came over to check himself and agreed with his workers. I came to check two days later. While changing the dampers did fix the airflow to the living room, it stopped the flow in the Master bedroom and another bedroom. I emailed the boss again. No response. No phone call. It's been three months since then. Still no response. I gave up. Overall conclusion: Find another HVAC company.

    I called and asked for a quote to replace my AC and furnace because I was very happy with the service on a previous problem. I recommended them to friends earlier and they too were happy. Yolanda immediately responded and Phil gave me a reasonable quote. I did not feel the need to negotiate the price. It only took some emails and phone calls to select the system. I was told that power would not be cut and heat would be working on the same day and if needed they would come back the next day to finish. As they said they came at 9am with the equipment and 3 people and Phil. One did the wiring for the thermostat and 4 temperature sensors, one replaced the outside AC unit and one replaced the old AC coils and furnace and that wiring by 1pm and took a well deserved lunch break. By 4pm the technician came to configure the system. By 5:30pm they left with a job well done. I immediately recommended them to 2 friends who needed similar work. This is how service should be.

    Reliable Air mechanical, did our hvac system and ductless mini split. Phil is great to work with and very knowledgeable. He has a great team. They follow up and make sure things work fine in case of issues. They were able to accommodate all my requests including adding extra intakes for hvac and duct fan etc.

    Crane needed to remove old unit and set new one.

We had no idea when it was last serviced or if it had ever been serviced at all. Henry gave us a very fair and competitive price for a tune up. Upon Henry's arrival, he was friendly and professional. He opened the furnace and showed us the burner. He explained it was in great condition considering the age of the unit and it didn't need servicing; although, he did clean up around a few areas around the burner. The blower motor was slightly wobbly, and once again, he explained it was still in good shape considering its age. He proceeded to the back patio where the condenser was located. He noted the unit was very old and that particular Freon is no longer available for servicing; however, he stated the unit did not need to be replaced just yet as long as it's blowing cold. Henry indicated despite our units being way past their anticipated life expectancy, they were clean and blowing hot & cold just fine. Therefore, no servicing was recommended and he did not charge us anything. We are impressed not only by Henry's friendliness and professionalism, but also by his transparency and integrity. Many other companies would have hopped on the opportunity to upsell the service or even sway us to replace our system right away, but Henry gave us peace of mind to give us time and to save up for an inevitable replacement in the future with Therma Tech. Thank you so much, Henry! We will definitely contact you again in the future and recommend you to all our family, friends and coworkers.

Michael came out to my house and walked me through the pros and cons of a heat pump HVAC. For my home, the extra money made no sense. I really do not need central AC. We then talked about a new Carrier, high-efficency furnace. That was exactly what I needed. I also opted for the Ecobee Smart, wi-fi enabled thermostat. I am extremely happy with everything. The price was right. The installation was flawless. The post-intall QA walkghrough, by Johnny, went really well. ThenI worked with the folks that checked all the boxes post-intalleation. HERS test was easy with a pass.. Today, we passed the inspection, in under 5 minute. Every person I dealt with was amiable and professiona. The office staff always very nice. Michael Calvey was a joy to talk to. Thank you to Johnny, the project manager, and the folks from HOPSTER that facilitated the post-installation test and inspectioin. From start to finish I met with Michael on February 12th. The 16th the new furnace was intalled. February 17th Johnny did the QA walkthrough. February 18th HOPSTER did their pre-test and inspection walkthrough. The HERS test was done February 23rd. March 5th the city inspection was complete. I will continue to use Calvey for annual maintenance
