Had a wonderful quick great experience after a nice lunch. I'm not into vanilla, but super loved their vanilla. We tried vanilla coffee and strawberry and all of them were yummy. The flavors tasted clean and simple, certainly not overwhelming. Service was fast and servers were friendly, and the place is so cute. read more

It's about time downtown Livermore had a good dessert spot! I've been to Verace three times now and I've loved every flavor I've tried. Their nutty flavors are my favorite, especially the pistachio. You also can't go wrong with any of their hazelnut flavors. The gelato is super rich and creamy - it's quite filling! A single scoop is pretty pricey, so I recommend going with a friend and sharing a double scoop. :) The spirit of Italy is alive and well on K Street. The owner's vespa was parked outside, which was a nice Italian touch. ;) read more

We hired Verace to serve gelato at our wedding this past weekend. They were excellent to work with and so accommodating. Preparations like picking out flavors and organizing details was easy and fun. At the event their set up was SO CUTE and I had so many wedding guests tell me it's the best gelato they've ever had. I even had a couple say Verace's gelato is better than any gelato they had in Italy. They even had vegan options. I would highly recommend hiring them for catering or even just stopping by for a couple scoops of gelato. The hit flavor at the wedding was the Ferrero chocolate flavor. read more

If you want REAL Italian gelato and other treats from Italy, you need to try Verace. Located at 174 South K in Livermore, this is the closest you'll get to the old country in California. The gelato is as good as any you can get anywhere in Italy. The staff is friendly and knows their gelatos and the inside is appointed like a sidewalk cafe in Rome. Hands down the best Gelato place in the tri-valley! Every flavor we have tried is heavenly delicious. We love their cones which are so fresh, crisp and much less sugary than typical cones in ice cream shops. The owner is very friendly and the service is world class. Nice gelato place with creamy and rich gelato. They have some less common favors such as Almond & Orange, Almond & Chocolate, Ferrero Rocher, Kinder Bueno. They have sampling so you could try out the favors before deciding. We ordered two medium cups each with two favors. You need to order a medium to get two favors. We had the Almond & Chocolate and Pistachio in one cup and the Kinder Bueno and Milk Cherry in another cup. All the favors were thick and rich. The Pistachio was especially intense. The gelato also wasn't too sweet which was a great thing. Give this place a try if you enjoy quality gelato! read more

I love Verace! After an afternoon of wine tasting and dinner, my friends and I were craving something sweet while in downtown Livermore. Verace had been on my bookmarked list since the summer so we finally decided to check them out. The shop is so cute with a few tables for you to enjoy your ice cream inside. It was a nice escape on a cold day. Who gets gelato on cold days? Me. Gelato is good all the time. They have a lot of delicious flavors to choose from so it's hard to decide. Luckily you can try before you buy! We ordered a variety as a table and tried each others' and all were delicious. You can't go wrong! They also have affogatos - which truly were perfect for the cold evening. Price is pretty comparable to other local ice cream shops. Service was quick and easy. Lovely, little gelato shop. I had read somewhere online that if the gelato doesn't appear "fluffy" (like extremely over topped) chances are, it's pretty good. Behold. It wasnt fluffy lol I got the Ferrero Roche one and I enjoyed it. They let you sample flavors so that's nice. A small was perfect size for me. I would recommend a grande or above if you want to share with others. I'm going to bring my pooch next time and get an affogato :) read more

The gelato had a consistent 'stale' taste to them. They had strong freezer burn as if they had been sitting for days or exposed to frequent temperature changes. Sampled two and ended up just purchasing the second one to avoid walking out and seeming rude. I will not be going back here as it was not appetizing at all. read more

Incredible gelato. And they are allergy friendly- very few ingredients in their product and they know what is in it! We almost never get desserts in the US- but this gelato is truly Italian gelato and it is made with Italian ingredients- no nasty carrageenan or food starch in this! And it is SO good. The kids and I just ate a whole pint of Black currant (it's wonderful). And we tried the lemon- very pure. Like eating the essence of a lemon. I also got the ferrero Roche and the pistachio. They are SO good. But everything here is good. I have to have an affogato next time as they are a favorite drink of mine (or dessert- depending on your opinion of the affogato). Everyone is super friendly and helpful and the chef will help you if you have an allergy. Since the shop is on K street, you need to go up to the next street to turn if you are traveling East on 1st street. The shop is clean and bright and their are tables outside to eat your treat. Went today for the first time. Made me feel like I was back in Italy strolling the Piazza Navona. Rivals the Gelateria in Florence or the Frigidarium in Rome. Raquel was friendly and energetic. I had the stracciatella which was silky and delicious. I teased about it being as good as Rome gelato. Just as good if not better. I will be returning to try the pistachio. read more

My family and I came here over the summer. While being a new place you would expect it to be a bit cleaner. We definitely didn't receive the best treatment, while witnessing others receive better treatment. A couple before us reeked of smoke and they were helped for 10-12 minutes while we waited. When it was our turn to try a few flavors others were helped along side us. Just felt strange. The gelato is okay, as is the service. The floors and tables were sticky as well and didn't seem clean. Some things to improve on for sure. They do have some vegan options which is a plus for those with allergies. Probably won't be back anytime soon. read more

Updating my review but maintaining 4 stars. It still reeks of cleaners inside Verace. In fact, when I came in tonight one employee was cleaning the bottom of dining tables which is odd during business hours. The other employee was methodically wiping down a napkin holder. Neither urgently greeted us and it was a full few minutes before we were served. I am happy they haven't raised their prices. I still feel like I get better portion for my money at the Pleasanton gelato shop. The coffee flavor tasted a bit burned to me and I got a bean at the bottom. read more

Amazing gelato! My daughter and I went to a street fare and came across this shop. It is small and tucked away on a side street. I had to get really close to see it was a gelato shop. Naturally I went inside. This was THE BEST GELATO EVER!!! We both had been to Italy, but this surpassed anything I tasted there. It was not surprising to learn the owners are from Naples. Delicious, rich and flavorful. Get some! read more

I'm not sure what all the hype is about this place, or if I just came on an off-day, but my experience here was not great. When we arrived, the gelato was laid out in front of us and half the flavors were not labelled. The lady behind the counter was friendly and helpful and allowed us to sample some flavors. The samples tasted alright - we tried lemon, straciatelli, and a few others flavors but settled on mini versions of the former for around $6 a piece. When we sat down to eat our gelato, it just wasn't good. There were ice crystals all throughout the bowl and my wife complained about it being too salty. We've had fantastic gelato before in Concord, so this was a real letdown, especially for the price. The restaurant itself is cute and clean. Service is friendly and people seem to like it. Maybe it was an off day? I don't know, but I just generally did not like the flavor or consistency of this gelato and it was the worst one I've had in the Bay Area since moving here. I believe it's one of the only gelato establishments in the area, but there is also one in downtown Pleasanton that is better. Like I said, it could have just been an off day there or a bad batch, but they should test their batches to make sure that issues are resolved before serving it to customers. read more

Omg..... one word to describe this gelato... AMAZING! They literally had the best flavors; from coconut, passion fruit, KINDER BUENO! You name it, they had it! Also, the owners are from Naples Italy, so you know this stuff is the real deal. The gentleman from Naples was so nice and really went above end beyond to satisfy his customers. The portion size was amazing and he even added little candies on top! Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for exceptional customer service and loves delicious authentic gelato :) read more

Was looking for a sweet treat and stumbled across this place, Aside from the friendly service the ambiance of this place was beautiful! To say that family is foundational to Livermore is an understatement. Verace Gelato shop is truly what family is about. Family founded, owned and operated. In entering the small shop you will be greeted and treated like family. They are so excited to see you enjoy their creations, like mom trying out a new recipe on you. They smile, laugh, chat and serve the BEST GELATO this side of Italy. I can't tell you what my favorite flavor is because it will probably change with the next visit. My wife had the Ferraro Rocher with coffee and loved it. She likes to get half and half with Stracciatella as her go to half. I like to try them all and often ask what is the new flavor. The best gelato I've ever had was in Venice, but this Livermore spot is a close second. Really so tasty and creamy, and the service is friendly. Nice bright atmosphere inside as well as a couple tables outside for when the weather is worthy (the owner put a heater out there, too). I worry they're a little too far off the beaten path; more people should know this place is here. read more

I had the pistachio and my husband had the stratcciella gelato. This place is legit. Their gelato is so good. They have plenty of tables inside and they have a few outside in the patio. Next time we will also try their coffee. I have a feeling that they make an amazing espresso. read more

I've tried other Dubai chocolates too, from Fix all the way to the ones at Costco, but I always pander back to Hanna's. The store itself is beautiful. It is a bit on the pricey side so I usually go for the smaller bars. That said, the price makes sense since, as I understand, the bars are handmade and poured. You pay for what you get!

My job finished up in the Livermore area, and before heading home I decided to grab some fro-yo. It was pretty busy on 1st Street on a Friday evening, but I found parking on a side street. This is a narrow shop with seating in front and some more in the back. I'm guessing this place gets pretty popular in the summer months when Livermore can get pretty warm. They have only four fro-yo machines, so that's eight flavors + the combo twist. They also have lots of toppings to choose from. This is a self-service, pay by the ounce place. So it's great for fro-yo fans who like to load up on the toppings. When I was there, the price was 70 cents per ounce. That's about average. No samples. Just create it, weigh it, pay and enjoy. I had the nonfat Chocolate/Vanilla twist, and a fruity sorbet. Very good! Good and icy refreshing. Found this dessert stand at the Alameda County Fair (in the carnival section), and the fancy gelato…read moremilkshakes on their menu caught my eye. Instead of just plain chocolate, their dark knight milkshake is a mountain of chocolate cake, chocolate fudge, and chocolate sprinkles, all on top of the chocolate gelato blend. And the grasshopper milkshake features peppermint and oreo cookies and crumbles, along with Andes mint candy (my fave) decorating the mint chocolate chip gelato mix. Too many tempting choices, but I had to go with the strawberry shortcake milkshake, made with fresh strawberries, whipped cream, angel cake, and topped off with chocolate fudge and crushed graham crackers... so many layers of flavor I just couldn't resist. As it turns out, the graham cracker crumbs are mainly for decoration, most of it pretty much glued to the plastic mug (not edible). And what shined in this dessert was the "shortcake", not the strawberry. Besides those 3 strawberries on top, I actually didn't get much strawberry flavor from the shake itself. Slightly disappointing, but like I said, the sponge cake and toppings were fresh and tasty, and the gelato wasn't bad, just lacking a sweetness and tartness that you get from actual strawberries, tasted almost watered down. Luckily, the presentation of the drink (served with both a spoon and straw) almost makes up for that. And I love that 50% of their profits go to charity. They're based in Atascadero, but travel to different events and festivals all over, currently at the fair in Pleasanton this summer. Overall, the product and service is decent, with unique offerings on their menu like churro sandwiches which I find intriguing even if I'm more of a milkshake kinda gal. If I could do it again, I'd go with with the mint or chocolate flavor though.

Menchie is comparable and can compete with these two companies. I appreciated the cute and brightly colored spoons. It's a small detail that made me 1% happier. Additionally, they offer Nutella and Nutterbutter cookies as toppings. Yogurtland doesn't have this available! For that alone, I give this spot an extra star! I was going to rate it three stars because the machines seem to be faulty. I pushed down the lever and the frozen yogurt swirled in slow motion. Even a customer beside me complained to the staff. My son loved his drink and he usually doesn't like anything because he's a teenager lol. My matcha was so good. The quality of matcha was much better than other bakeries I usually go to.
